Hi Everyone
I thought we should have a thread in here as so many of us have now graduated into the antenatal threads. I know that many good friendships have been made and it would be a shame to lose them because we are all due in different months.
So come on sign in!!

Hey Peachy, glad you've got your scan date through! Keep us posted.

NatalieJane · 01/08/2006 22:13

Hiya Wuzz, how is it going? Have you heard from Jen?

Peachy good news on the scan date, it is so exciting!! Have a good time at your parents.

We think we have managed to get our plasterer to agree to squeeze us in at the end of the month, so once the nursery has been plastered we can get all the furniture in and then the really exciting bit starts - getting all of the nick-nacks in and placed and looking as gorgeous as it does in my head!! LOL I am hoping to have it all sorted by the end of September so then I can relax and take the last couple of months (till November) nice and easy

Right I am off before I go into details about all the nick-nacks - it will bore you all to death!! LOL Good night everyone xxx

wuzzlefraggle · 03/08/2006 07:58

i next see my midwife on monday, and eventhough i have to have blood taken, im actually looking forward to it...im hoping that we'll be able to listen to the heartbeat again

laughalot · 05/08/2006 14:29

Wuzz I would like a little girl because I have a ds already but im not bothered really. Its lovely going to midwife and hearing babies heartbeat I heard mine last week for the first time

wuzzlefraggle · 07/08/2006 18:28

hi ladies

just to update you all of the midwife appointment today...alls well, got to hear heartbeat again, midwife had to practically wrestle with my arm to get blood out (ouch!!). only bad-ish thing was that she said thats he detected traces of blood and protien in my wee, so its got to be sent off, but not to worry about it as if there is an infection, it can be sorted with anti biotics.

laughalot, yeah it is nice hearing the heartbeat..instant re-assurance

hope that every1 is doing well...Nat..you still under the weather???

this thread is getting so quiet i can prectically see dust on it!!

laughalot · 07/08/2006 19:13

Wuzz glad all was well with baba hope you dont have a infection but best getting it all checked out. Well im ok starting to feel better as I get further into the pregnancy the sickness has been gone for a few weeks now and the tiredness is getting better im trying to potty train ds at the minute he is doing really well to say he is only just 2 he stands up over the potty and aims into it when he is weeing the only thing is sometimes he gets so over excited that hes done it and sprays it all over the floor all I can say whoever invented lamanate floor is a genius !! Well hope everyone is feeling well.

NatalieJane · 07/08/2006 19:39

Hello everyone

Lota, nice to hear from you, seems like ages since we had a proper natter!

I am fine now thanks Wuzz, it was DH's birthday on Saturday so we had some trips out and what not, and I have started to decorate the hall, of all the things we have to organise at the moment, and I start the mother of all decorating jobs! And along with all of the shopping - it's a hard life!! - I have hardly had time to do anything else!!

Anyway hope you are all doing well, will try and catch up a bit more tomorrow, TC xxx

HopingCat · 08/08/2006 08:59

Hi everyone.
Glad you are ok now NJ, and it's good your sickness has gone Lota. I realised yesterday I've not felt sick for about 10 weeks now which is so nice.
Wuzz - I've got mw appointment today and I think they are taking blood this time. It's my 28 wk appointment, however I'm only 27+1! All my appointments have been out by one week because they gave me a scan at 19 weeks not 20, so my 24 wk check was at 23 weeks etc. This probably means I'll be seeing mw every week from 35 weeks instead of 36, but it's always reassuring to see mw so I don't mind. Hope your test results come back ok.

wuzzlefraggle · 08/08/2006 08:59

LOL laughalot! i hope that your ds get the hang of the potty soon how many weeks are you now?? glad to hear that the dreaded morning sickness is easing up for you too

nat, glad to hear that your better now! me and dh need to get on with some serious decorating too...i keep saying, "we will carry on with it this weekend" but it doesnt seem to hapen..its something that seriously needs to get done tho, otherwise it will be a mad rush lol

wuzzlefraggle · 08/08/2006 09:01

hi HC ...hope that the midwife appointment goes well...you'll get to hear the heartbeat today then! hows pregnancy treating you??

HopingCat · 08/08/2006 09:06

Hi Wuzz.
I'm still doing ok with being pregnant. I've heard things get harder from 28 weeks, because it's harder to get comfy and harder to sleep, but I'm hoping to be one of those lucky people who manage ok right up until the end (wishful thinking maybe!)
I have days when I feel massive, and I can't imagine gettig bigger. Do you ever wonder how something so big is going to fit through such a small hole?!

wuzzlefraggle · 08/08/2006 09:16

i do wonder HC lol..and to be honest it scares theb-jesus out of me lol. something the size of a melon through a hole that will only dialate to about the size of a lemon...eeek!! it makes me wonder how....

HopingCat · 08/08/2006 09:22

My dh keeps telling me not to think about it so much! How can I not think about it! It's not like I can ignore it and it will go away. I think he may get a shock when we go to Parentcraft classes, and the midwife starts telling the group about what happens during labour and birth.
Are you doing any ante-natal classes? Mine don't start until 2nd October.

wuzzlefraggle · 08/08/2006 09:25

i dont even know when mine start! i should find out really...its all well and good for them see...they dont have to do the actual delivery bit lol
i swear that i have developed a chocolate addiction...its all i think about lately!
do you know if your having a pink or blue one?

HopingCat · 08/08/2006 09:35

No, we decided not to find out. Sometimes we regret this decision, but I do want the surprise at the end of it all.
A lot of people think I'm carrying a boy as it's an all out front bump, but other people have said it's a low bump so must be a girl. I've heard the heartbeat but can't really tell how fast it is as I've nothing to compare it to, so there doesn't seem to be any way of telling if it's a girl or boy. One person said she thought it was a girl based on the scan picture. Yours is a girl isn't it. Can you tell on your picture?

My other thought was that, if you believe what they say about the male sperm swimming faster and the female sperm surviving longer, then most people who are actively trying to conceive will have a boy, because they are more likely to bd on the day they ovulate rather than a few days before. We were bding every other day including the day I ovulated back in February, so scientifically speaking it is more likely to be a boy. It's all so complicated!

wuzzlefraggle · 08/08/2006 09:39

yeah we are having a girl, but you cant tell on either of the scan pictures.
yeah ive heard about the sperm thing...i salute you for being able to stay calm and not find out...dh and me were mad to know! lol

when do you go to the midwife?

HopingCat · 08/08/2006 09:45

It's a 1pm appointment. I'm at work at the moment, but as you can tell I'm not doing loads of working! I seem to spend more time on the internet than working at the moment, but it is very quiet around the office generally through summer. I've started counting down the weeks til maternity leave starts (9.5 weeks).

HopingCat · 08/08/2006 09:46

Does your dh come to mw appointments? Mine has not been before but is coming today to hear heartbeat. I just wondered if midwifes are used to dads turning up with mums.

wuzzlefraggle · 08/08/2006 10:03

yeah, my dh has been to all the appointments to do with the pregnancy we've had...he loves it. so dont worry, they are used to partners/husbands turning up and dont mind at all

i know what u mean about spending too much time online...i should really be doing some cleaning or something lol

HopingCat · 08/08/2006 10:20

We're in the middle of renovating our house - the whole place is full of dust as we've knocked through from our kitchen into the dining room. I certainly need to clean, but I can usually find reasons not to. The only rooms that look ok are the nursery and the lounge. We're hoping to get a lot more done by the time the baby arrives but we'll see what happens. I'm spending a lot of time shopping for new furniture etc online, but we have a lot to do before we can furnish the rooms.

wuzzlefraggle · 08/08/2006 10:24

HC i know how u feel there...we have to finish our lounge, kitchen and the babys room before baby arrives...time is running out lol. dh and i need to get on with it by the weekend really...sooo much to do and so little time...its a mad rush isnt it?

HopingCat · 08/08/2006 10:37

It's funny, you'd think that if a baby is planned then you would also be able to plan to get other things done before the baby arrives. Our baby was planned, although we perhaps got pregnant faster than we thought we would, and we knew how much work needed to be done on the house before the baby came. We're now in the last trimester and soooo much needs doing still. I'd like to blame it on not being able to get the plasterer etc in as fast as we wanted, but in fact it's usually the case that me and dh haven't got our act together and booked people fast enough.

Must go and do some work now. I'll be back on later when I've been to mw.

See you!
