Ladies I think we need a new festive thread to take us through to the end of the year. And as it will be me to sneeze next –how did it get around to my turn so quickly???-- I thought I would do the honours.

Keep of course Kip is the cutest. That goes without saying!! Have all your group had their babies now?

Good job on the nursery Bumpie, hope you're having a rest now!

Brookers can I have some advice please? I've had it for weeks, but my back and hips are gradually getting more and more sore. And tonight have been in years with it. Is there anything I can do, other than the good advice that Sparks gave a while ago? It's even worse when I lie down. It's like someone has split my lower back in half and the halves are grinding on each other. I don't mean to complain, I'm just wondering if anyone has any good advice.

How you doing Sweetie? Still on the tea?

Hope you have a quieter weekend Solars

Is DS better now Pen?

Has the spotting cleared now Too?

How you doing Fox? How did your parent take the news?! Better they were over the moon [tchgrin]

Fox82 · 01/12/2013 19:41

Aww keep of course kip it the cutest! [tchgrin]

Nice to meet you bumpie! How exciting getting the nursery painted!

Oh no maybe - that sounds so sore!! I hope someone will be along soon with some good advice. Probably irrelevant, but I suffer with back ache generally and have found the only thing to help has been Pilates. It does wonders! Don't know if it would help in your situation? Physio etc did nothing for me

My mum was very excited when I told her the news [tchgrin] It's lovely that she knows as she's aware we'd been trying and that I was a bit fed up it hadn't happened quicker. It's still early days though - I'm 6 weeks today! I've got a gp appointment on the 17th as my really nice gp I saw for my fertility investigations is away until then. Actually, does anyone have any advice about the flu jab - I'm wondering if the 17th is too long to wait and if I should just see a different gp?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/12/2013 20:02

Ah, I'm so pleased Fox!!! I bet she can't wait!! I would say the sooner you have the jab the better. May be worth while calling the surgery tomorrow and seeing what they say. I know my surgery only has certain days where they run flu jab clinics, you can't just see the nurse and get one.

I have an antenatal Pilates DVD that I've been doing, but that had me in tears with my hips. The core section was ok though. I think the fact that I'm getting such little sleep just makes it worse!!

Fox82 · 01/12/2013 20:28

Thanks maybe I'll call the surgery tomorrow

Are you going to see your gp about your back and hips? Sounds excruciating poor you Cake

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/12/2013 20:43

I've got my 25 week MW appointment in ten days, so will ask her about it then. I'm sure it will be ok, I'm just feeling a little overwhelmed today [tchsmile]

keepitgoing · 01/12/2013 21:13

maybe I'd phone the mw and ask about an urgent physio referral. No point in waiting another ten days. As you know I had v bad back pain, about weeks 26-33. Walking made it much worse, so I drove everywhere, but some other exercises were ok and exercise made me feel better in general. Poor you, what a tough pg you're having.

I get very little sleep, but am loving sleeping on my tummy again when I do sleep Grin

Yes, all my nct lit have had their babies :) Tomorrow I register kip and get birth cert! :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/12/2013 21:59

How exciting Keep!!! She will be 'official' [tchwink]

Exercise always makes me feel better too. Well, better for doing it. But not for my back. I find yoga ok. And I walk an awful lot with the pup. I haven't been to the gym since the HG kicked in. Bad maybe.

Oh. And I can't wait to sleep on my tummy again!!!

TheLittleFriend · 02/12/2013 11:00

Hi all, just rejoining the thread.

My sil should be having an elcs this morning, can't wait for the phone call Grin

keepitgoing · 02/12/2013 11:16

maybe can someone else walk the dog for a bit?

little do they know the sex? How exciting!

sweetie hope you're ok on these last few days x

SweetieTime · 02/12/2013 11:37

Morning all, I have been lurking just not posting much as nothing to report. I have my 36 week appointment (how did that happen????) at 1.30 today so am hoping the consultant will give me a date for the forced eviction!!!

Little very exciting, cannot wait to hear the news.

Maybe poor you, I hope you get some sleep as that always makes things seem so much worse.
DH has taken on all dog walking duties in our house. I can walk her and bless her she walks really slowly beside me. The problem is if she sees someone or something more exciting such as another dog then she goes barmy. I am worried she will pull me about too much so DH has to take her now.

keep I am sssssooooooooo jealous of your tummy sleeping. I miss sleeping on my tummy, I used to always sleep on my tummy but that is now a distant memory. How is the gorgeous little kip doing?

Fox welcome to our little home page, so glad your Mum was pleased with your news. It is so exciting for all involved. You could ring the GP surgery to see what they say about getting the flu jab.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/12/2013 12:03

How exciting little!!

Keep MrM would take him, but I love walking. If I didn't I would be cooped up inside 24/7 Sad

36 weeks Sweetie, where has the time gone?! Not long now lovely. I designed a new pillow arrangement last night and it helped a little. Made even better by the fact that MrM is on nights so have the whole bed to myself!!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 02/12/2013 15:05

Hi everyone. Sweetie you've done amazing!

keepitgoing · 02/12/2013 15:39

I know what you mean maybe, but if it keeps getting worse you won't be able to do anything. A friend of mine spent the last tri on crutches. Please be careful.

sweetie where are you?!

Kip is doing well. I am getting used to broken sleep I think Grin I of course fret a lot, she seems to be a speed feeder, which I guess is good but I worry she's not getting enough. Next weighing is Wednesday. I am proud as today I got us both up, dressed, clean, out for coffee, then to register her birth. Had to bf in the registry office as got caught out. We are now tired and watching countdown...

Last night at 3am was my first proper poo explosion. Out of the nappy, vest, babygro. All over her leg, foot, back. She of course screamed as I had to clean her. Yet dh somehow slept through next door grrr

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 02/12/2013 15:49

Poonami's are amazing aren't they, I mean, where do they keep it all??? Sounds like you're doing a fab job! Up, dressed and clean Xmas Grin you get used to feeding out and about, I keep a scarf in the changing bag now so I can try and keep some dignity (though K now loves to throw it on the ground while she's feeding Xmas Hmm)

keepitgoing · 02/12/2013 15:54

Pah to dignity! Grin Did I tell you, after giving birth naked all the way, with the mW of course at the business end, she later came back into our room as I came out of the shower wrapped in a towel. She apologised!! I was like 'you've seen it all, lady, come on in'

boo how cute of C. That's the best age for Christmas... I have bought s a reindeer babygro... sweetie do the twins have any Christmas outfits?

I love a nighttime poo, gives her more space to feed, and the more she feeds the longer I get to sleep... (90 mins vs 2 hours, it all counts!)

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 02/12/2013 15:59

Haha, oh the joys of childbirth eh, I think my dignity may have made a come back at some point then (which K is now trying to ruin) also noticed, it's K who has 3 teeth not J, bit odd if it was J as he's now 16 and has far more than 3 Xmas Grin

Solars · 02/12/2013 16:14

Afternoon ladies!

Maybe it was a much quieter weekend thanks. Sorry no advice on your back or hips but I would be inclined to see your gp as soon as possible rather than wait. Poor you, you've had such a rough time of it let's hope this means it will be easy peasy for you when Finella comes along.

Sweetie hope all has gone well with your appointment today.

Keep how lovely kip is official now. You sound like your doing really well.

Lovely to see you here Fox

Any news Little?

Boo I did wonder whether it was J who had only 3 teeth Xmas Grin

I am now suffering from pregnancy rhinitis so I've been doing lots of saline rinses to keep it at bay but I've also developed a cough which is not much fun.

We also had our scan today and baby was still being shy and kept putting his hands and feet over his face but we did get to see glimpses of his face and a few good pics. I really enjoyed just watching him especially as he also attempted to open his eyes.

MrS is at home this week so we're going to be a bit busy trying to sort baby stuff out so may not be around too much and probably reading more than posting.

SweetieTime · 02/12/2013 19:04

Solars shame that only a few glimpses were seen on the scan. Won't be long until he is here to stay.

Keep you sound to be doing an amazing job. I thought poonamis only happened after a couple of months!!! I suppose the MW is so engrossed with doing her job she forgets the indignity felt by the lady going through it and then normal etiquette of the situation resumes.

Maybe I might have to set up in our spare room as I seem to sleep better when DH has left for work and I have the bed to myself. It is worth a try at least. At least I get to wriggle and fidget without feeling guilty for keeping DH awake when he has work the next day.

Twins Forced Eviction booked for 16th Dec, we have a full set of instructions so are good to go - it took ages to go through everything. If I go into natural labour before then I have a choice of letting it progress or instigating my ELCS option. I am feeling very happy with this compromise.
Both twins doing really well and estimated weights are 5lb 5oz each so they have gained weight since last scan but not as much as the time before. Should be on for 6lb each by eviction day.

OP posts:
EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 02/12/2013 19:27

Oh Sweetie that all sounds brilliant Xmas Smile have you any thoughts on what you might do if you go into spontaneous labour, or wait and see how you feel?

TheLittleFriend · 02/12/2013 19:39

Hi all

Great news about an eviction date Sweetie. Be prepared that poonamis can appear from newborns too!

Keep, sounds like you are found a fab job Smile

So my new niece arrived this morning after a straight forward elcs, weighing 8lb 2oz. No pics seen yet but I hear she looks just like her beautiful sister Smile I now have 5 nephews and 5 nieces!!

SweetieTime · 02/12/2013 19:51

Congratulations Little lovely synergy going on there.

Boo will just see how things go if things happen naturally. I would have to ring if contractions get to 10 minutes apart or when waters go. Will cross that bridge if or when it happens.

OP posts:
keepitgoing · 02/12/2013 20:20

Is there a time limit of when they wouldn't do an elcs sweetie? What if your contractions start off as every 3 mins, for example.
I rather think I contributed to the poonami by not checking the leg seals of the nappy properly. But yes, newborns can make a lot of poo...

sweetie we must meet up in the new year. I want to meet the twins. Sounds like they aren't going to be as jumbo as we thought at one point, but what great sizes! And 12lb of baby?! You're doing amazingly.

Was that a 3d scan, solars? Any news on the heart? Sorry I am somewhat out of it right now, but super excited about all forthcoming brooking babies.
solars

NoMaybeAboutIt · 02/12/2013 21:13

Congratulations Little!!

Solars how amazing!! Has it made everything feel more real now?

Sweetie I'm so pleased you're sounding much happier now. And what good sizes they both are!! I am so excited for you!!!

Keep Grin at poogate! It is amazing where it all comes from!! And well done for registering her today!!

I too agree with the kack if dignity. The whole IVF process involved so many people looking at my bits that I just don't care anymore [tchgrin]

Boo well done on the teeth!! Poor little thing. Did worry when you said J [tchwink]

I can't believe I'm 24 weeks today. Think I have finally decided what we will do about nappies. And other than having the rest of the furniture and pram delivered, we are all done I think!!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 02/12/2013 21:23

Sooooo, watcha doin about nappies then Maybe? You sound very organised!

Sweetie you just sound so much more relaxed and happy about it all now, I'm so so pleased for you Xmas Smile
