Ladies I think we need a new festive thread to take us through to the end of the year. And as it will be me to sneeze next –how did it get around to my turn so quickly???-- I thought I would do the honours.

Oh Trix you've been through so much, and it will be the 6th so soon, I'm so excited for you I was supposed to be induced at 38 weeks too, because of the diabetes, but was left until 39+3, it didn't cause me any problems (except a LOT of moaning and complaining) and it all went just fine.

Can't believe how many babies are due so soon, it's all very exciting in Brooker land

sweetie I hope your better now, really hope your eyesight returns to normal. You are at home now, is that right? Or have I read it wrong? How are you getting on?

I've been reading daily but I'm sick and didn't want to be on complaining all day. Have a very annoying cough, sore head, watery eyes, blocked nose and a sore throat. So been feeling extremely sorry for myself. Ds and Dp are unwell too. Really hoping we are all better before Christmas, just seems to be a lot of bugs about so I was expecting it.

bumpie I think I'm just about set. Have a present to collect on Christmas Eve for Dps nanny, and all wrapping to be done still. Although I think we have everything we need just need to wrap and delivered.

I have now told quite a lot of people! Had to tell the 10 work folk at my Christmas do last night because it was patently obvious why I wasn't drinking. It is exciting and they were all so sweet and pleased for me, but I feel a bit scared that I'll get to the scan in Jan and there'll be nothing there.

music we actually booked it as a sort of Xmas present to ourselves! Yes, our anomaly scan is only 8th jan but we really wanted to know for Xmas. Plus I'm making our own crackers this year so we'll put 'its a girl' in for our parents as a surprise! Yes, had a good look, bizarre being able to see details such as her spine, etc.

keep I'm going to video my day's response as well (he's cried at everything baby related since my bfp) although he phones to say he'd knocked his front tooth out yesterday so he might not thank me for that!

2 wks to go then here. at the moment we can decide if dh should just go to work when I go in and just come to hospital when something actually starts happening. I wouldn't be alone mum would stay with me. but dh works in Kent its aprox an hour and a half to get back.
in other news we have brought a new second hand car ours went for service and there's so much wrong with it the cost of repairs are more than the cars worth. we should have the new one by the end of the month.
I've woken up to another fence panel blown down. dh fixed one back up on Sunday all ready.
Sunday was our first wedding anniversary its gone so quick!

Happy anniversary Trix! 2 weeks to go!! How exciting!! I think it would be best for MrT not to go to work that day. He wouldn't concentrate anyway.

How are you all getting on Sweetie? Hope your eyes have settled down a bit now and that you're recovering well. They are so gorgeous!!

How are all the other brookers? Sorry have been AWOL, were down at the outlaws in Devon. So pleased to be back to normality

Happy anniversary Trix I'm going to break with the traditional of giving well meaning advice to TELL you not to let DH go to work on induction day, I wasn't in hospital until 8pm and he went to work that day, it was the most stressful, upsetting, lonely, sad thing ever, keep him with you! Even when we got to the hospital we were told nothing would happen for hours and hours, DH should just go home and they would call him if I needed him, then within 30 mins of the first pessary I was off like a rocket straight into labour. It is so unpredictable and emotional have all your support with your all day!

Trix, happy anniversary for last Sunday! I agree with the others - I'd take DH! It may be quite quick, it could be boring.. and it'll be emotional either way, so it would probably be lovely having him there.

trix not that I have any experience other than one born every minute but I really think your Dh shouldn't go to work on the day. What if your labour progresses quickly?

agree that he shouldn't work trix. yes it might be annoying if labour takes a while and you feel he's wasting his leave, but I think it's better that way

kitty thanks for asking. she is gorgeous, exhausting, and brilliant. I feel I am muddling through, but what else can you expect at this stage tried to get her weighed today only to find the go closed but on the plus side she fell asleep in the 2 min car journey and has been now for two hours. this after a 90 min feeding session. on thinking growth spurt

Not a huge deal to report from me, I've been busy with work and getting baby stuff ready. I did want to ask though, what baby bath do any of you recommend? Just not sure what to get really. Erring towards the mini tippitoes one....

Trix I agree, first day of induction for me was so long and boring. I'd really have hated being there without Dp. Don't think he would have been able to work anyway as he wouldn't be able to concentrate.

We have all presents wrapped and under the tree. We are in bed, I watching tv and Dp snoring away beside me.

I cannot wait to watch him open his presents.
