Ladies I think we need a new festive thread to take us through to the end of the year. And as it will be me to sneeze next –how did it get around to my turn so quickly???-- I thought I would do the honours.

It's not on our page, just her main page, so you'd have to be friends with her to see it.

fox that isn't long, esp with Xmas in the way. Have you told anyone yet?

SantaMaybe · 17/12/2013 20:14

Not thick Bumpie and Fox, Sweetie has put them on her own page, bit the brookers ones Xmas Smile

That's not long at all Fox!!! Exciting times!!

How are you feeling Bumpie?

Fox82 · 17/12/2013 20:18

Yes keep I've told my brother (before DH Shock) and also told my mum and dad. We're telling DHs family on Xmas eve as they don't live nearby and we wanted to wait and tell them face to face Smile

The GP said the midwife may contact me before the 2nd, as that's the first appointment she has free, but would probably want to see me before then ideally Smile

Can't wait to see sweetie's photo!!

Solars · 18/12/2013 17:17

Hi how is everyone?

I've had a very tiring few days, lots of sorting stuff out and I think I'm starting to feel the third trimester tiredness. I had a consultant appointment today who reiterated the fact that he recommend I'd be induced at 40 weeks and also that it would be better for me if I'm in the delivery suite rather than the maternity led unit, sigh! He did a growth scan and the boy is exactly on the 50th percentile and doing well. I'm back to see the consultant in 4 weeks time. We have our final hospital antenatal class tonight, should be fun as we've been asked to bring party food!!

keepitgoing · 18/12/2013 17:26

Is that from age and ivf solars? There's a good thread on that in the pregnancy topic at the moment, have you seen it?

Solars · 18/12/2013 17:33

Yes age and ivf Keep will definitely look for that thread in pregnancy, thanks. How are you doing?

SantaMaybe · 18/12/2013 17:59

Oh Solars that's rubbish. My consultant has discharged me, he said he didn't understand why the IVF would pose a problem. Don't feel like you're being pushed into anything you aren't comfortable with.

How are you doing Keep?

keepitgoing · 18/12/2013 18:57

It's called 'induction at 39 weeks due to age' solars

I'm ok thanks lovelies. Kip has a cold, so I've been sleeping terribly to check she's breathing dh off work today, and we went out for lunch :) And my boobs have gone back to day 4 size, ie enormous, the last few days. Crazy supply issues, and I choke her...

EverythingIsTinselyBaubleyBoo · 18/12/2013 20:25

Evening all, hope you're all doing ok.

Solars that's no good, hope you can get him to change his mind. Does the murmur make any difference in labour?

Keep I had crazy supply at the start too, it was literally coming out of K's nose as she was feeding because she couldn't cope with it. Now I only have it when there's a growth spurt and she sneaks in a request for extra milky loveliness when I'm not looking Xmas Wink

keepitgoing · 18/12/2013 21:24

Boo, do you get lots after the growth spurt, as she upped demand during it?,or during the spurt?

ThedementedPenguin · 18/12/2013 21:47

Can everyone put up their due dates, how far along they are? I am mega confused.

Penguin 24+4 due Pinga 5/4/14

Hope everyone is keeping well. I've got the cold/cough. My throats red raw from coughing. Need to sleep more but can't and ds won't allow it Xmas Sad

Right away to bed, hopefully get some sleep.

Fox82 · 18/12/2013 21:54

Penguin 24+4 due Pinga 5/4/14
Fox 8+4 due 28/7/14

EverythingIsTinselyBaubleyBoo · 19/12/2013 06:48

Keep she downloads her request at the beginning of the growth spurt/developmental leap, then feeds like a crazy person and within a couple of days she settles back into a calmer routine, it can take my supply a further day or so to notice and adjust accordingly. I did hear though that BFing isn't considered established until 10/12 weeks.

EverythingIsTinselyBaubleyBoo · 19/12/2013 09:55

Keep I have just seen that S has a cold, now that's interesting, I've always said to DH that I think she puts in an order for extra milk when she's poorly, I seem to have an abundance of milk when she's ill. I wonder if your recent supply is a combination of things then?

Stacks · 19/12/2013 12:55

Penguin 24+4 due Pinga 05/04/14
Stacks 12+0? Due 26/06/14
Fox 8+4 due 28/07/14

I'm mega grumpy today, feeling stressed at the jobs I've for to get done. DS was shouting at me the whole time I was trying to make lunch because he was hungry. Made egg mayo sandwiches, then saw the bread was mouldy. Took the sandwiches apart and just are the egg mayo. DS had 2 spoonfuls then started spitting it out. :( there's no food in the house, I need to wrap presents, get to post office, put DS down for a nap, then hope he wakes up early enough to go round to a friend to drop off Christmas presents. Oh, and I'm not sure there's food for DS's dinner, so I guess I need to shop and find something, but I have zero idea what to feed him :(

How's everyone else? DH has his last day at work tomorrow, then it's Christmas! I think I'm going to hibernate all weekend and let DH deal with all the stress :)

cartoontrickster · 19/12/2013 15:01

SweetieTime · 20/12/2013 10:01

All is going really well but I am having a few problems with my eyesight and cannot see very well. I get very dizzy when reading computer as my vision has gaps like when having a migraine. It all sounds very dramatic but isn't really, they are monitoring it as it is connected to my high blood pressure. Just popping on to let you know I have uploaded a couple of pictures in my profile for those with FB. I will come back to let you all know my birth story when I can. Love & brooking to all, I am thinking of you xx

Omg, they're too cute Sweetie they're just so lovely! The eyesight thing does sound quite worrying but glad your being monitored. Can't wait to read your birthday story. Hope the little ones are letting you have a bit of sleep. Xx

Loopyaboutmy2boys · 20/12/2013 14:02

RL rather busy this last week, but just popping by to say double congratulations to Sweetie. I am not on Fb so can't see pics or names etc but hope all is well and your vision starts behaving itself soon! Bet you are dying to be discharged, I was stuck in for 5 days after i had ds1 and I was desperate to get home!

Solars · 20/12/2013 16:47

Oh Sweetie the eye thing sounds scary but it's good that they're monitoring you. Looking forward to your birth story when you're ready.

Trix why are you being induced so early?

Keep hope little Kip is getting better

Maybe how are you doing?

Maybe, Boo I don't think the heart murmur makes any difference. I think they're mainly going on my age and the stats associated with going over 40 weeks, they're concerned about preeclampsia and growth retardation which is why they're giving me regular scans now too, not that anything is pointing in that direction at the moment. It's kind of nice they're making sure all is ok I guess but just doesn't leave me with much choice although he did say it is my decision at the end of the day. I will talk about it more when I see him at 35 weeks.

How is everyone else? Bumpie, Fox, Pen, Too?

Bugger,

cartoontrickster · 21/12/2013 08:35

hey bumpie I actually haven't been at work since the 11th but yesterday was ment to be my last day, I started a little early in the end. you?
solars after my fright on the 11th (also why I ended up on leave sooner) the consultant decided to induce me sooner. I was going to have a 40wk induction, she thought it best due to 'risks' (didn't elaborate though) and she didn't think I'd cope well sitting around waiting and worrying. I'd spent all afternoon in hosp on the 11th after seeing the midwife, I felt that treats movements were less then she did my fundal measurement which was low. I had ctg monitoring and a scan all fine but treats hadn't grown ad much as they might've expected since my last scan. I'd been very busy, stressed and tearful which didn't help. so on thrus we were back to see the consultant who scanned us couldn't really see why anyone had been worried about the growth, its just a slightly small baby. she's a firm believer that too much stress, worry etc causes lots of problems on pregnancy and wants me as calm as poss and after everything we've been through won't risk anything going wrong now. she said she is happy to induce at 38wks as there is nothing much to gain by waiting till 40wks. I am very happy with the decision for lots of reasons, not just because I'm impatient Grin .
sorry for the long story there. I'm pretty sure if you don't want to be induced at 38wks you don't have to be. are they actually worried about the health of you or baby? or is it just statistically?
