Ladies I think we need a new festive thread to take us through to the end of the year. And as it will be me to sneeze next –how did it get around to my turn so quickly???-- I thought I would do the honours.

I guess boy pen. Enjoy the scan!

maybe I'm feeling better today, having had five hours straight last night when dh gave the bottle. Planning a quiet day for her as I think she had a bit much at the weekend with her cousins. How are you?

Yesterday we were walking in the park with friends and she started screaming, and I ended up feeding her in the car park... Right now she's sleeping on my chest :)

Hope all you others ate well. trix you're so close to mat leave now! How are you doing? Excited or stressed?

Solars · 10/12/2013 11:25

Hey everyone! It's awfully quiet on here, hope everyone is doing ok.

Pen looking forward to your scan news! I'm going for girl!

Eek T -6 Sweetie! You're going to be great by the way!

Keep you sound like you're doing very well.

Nothing much happening here, still sorting the spare room out, sigh! I can't believe how much junk we had accumulated in there, wish I could wave a magic wand and it would all be done!!

SantaMaybe · 10/12/2013 12:26

So pleased you got a good sleep Keep. It's amazing how it can make things better isn't it? Glad you're having a quiet day too, just what you need.

Solars where on earth does the junk come from?! I am always amazed by how much crap we actually have!!

Pen what times that scan? I'm desperate to know!!!

We had our NCT water birth class last night. It's starting to hit home now that I might actually be having a baby. Cos the HG and SPD haven't hinted at that at all....Xmas Wink

ThedementedPenguin · 10/12/2013 12:36

Scans at 2.15. I'm so excited. Really hope he/she cooperates.

solars I've only been in this house just over a year and I dread to think of how much crap is in it. Babies have an unbelievable amount of stuff.

keep great to hear about the 5 hour stretch, feel any better for it? You are doing a great job, don't let anyone tell you different. It is extremely hard but you are doing amazingly.

Away to get ds some lunch and get ready to go. Eeeek I'm excited. Better be in a good position with legs apart.

SweetieTime · 10/12/2013 12:50

Pen cannot wait to hear all about the scan, not long to wait now.

Keep awesome 5 hours!!! well done DH & kip. I hope you are feeling a bit more human today. You must remember what an amazing job you have done to grow, birth and now look after a whole new human person. Things don't get bigger than that, try not to beat yourself up as you are doing a great job and will continue to do so.

Solars we moved house in Summer and I couldn't believe all the junk we had. It was very cleansing to get rid, we took boxes and boxes to the charity and loads to the tip. It is such a waste.

It is my 37 week twins due date today. I cannot believe I have made it this far. I really thought they would be here by now. I spent yesterday reading my Gina Ford twins book and it is sinking just how clueless I am. I have been shopping this morning to stock up on more maternity pads, piles cream, lactalose and pain killers - the glamour of it all, I think that is the best basket I have ever had!!! Also been to Matalan to get a couple of cheap vests to wear with in hospital with my comfy pyjama bottoms. So I am pretty much all ready to go just need the twins to agree to this too.

Sorry I've been AWOL again, just find it so hard to post these days. DS is a star but far more time consuming than I ever thought! We had our 12w scan today, all looking good. One bouncing baby seen, much more active than T ever was at scans, and made life difficult for the sonographer by refusing to get into the right position for the nuchal measurement. We got there in the end though.

Does anyone remember me mentioning the weird thing on my medical records or did I forget to mention it? I got the nurse today to write it down - osteochondropathies. Whatever it is, I'm pretty sure I'd know if I had it!

DS is after my phone, and needs a nap. Back after.

cartoontrickster · 10/12/2013 13:59

just a quick one, I guess girl pen!
keep yes I finish on the 20th. in true me style I'm stressed, nervous, excited and happy!
hopefully I will have time for a better post later.

ThedementedPenguin · 10/12/2013 15:17

Will catch up later.

Just a quick one to say

ITS A GIRL!!!!!

I'm very shocked but so happy. I've even bought an outfit.

Off to tell the parents.

RubberBaubles · 10/12/2013 15:37

EverythingIsTinselyBaubleyBoo · 10/12/2013 15:48

Aaw congratulations Xmas Smile

keepitgoing · 10/12/2013 15:52

Congratulations to both stacks and pen. What lovely scan news :). stacks I don't know what that is, are they saying you have it?

SantaMaybe · 10/12/2013 16:08

Woohoo Pen!! So chuffed for you!!

And for you Stacks, lovely news. From what I understand, it's a bit of a non-descript term for the wearing down of bones/cartilage in your joints. When did you find out it was in your notes?

Not long now Trix!!

That is one sexy shopping basket Sweetie Xmas Wink. For sheer comedy value, I'm considering sending MrM out for all my bits Xmas Grin

SweetieTime · 10/12/2013 16:20

Pen massive congratulations. Pingu is team pink. you can start thinking names now.

Maybe that is the reason I went as goodness only knows what DH would have come back with.

TheLittleFriend · 10/12/2013 16:59

Congratulations Pen!
Did you know Pingu's baby sister is called Pinga, if you wanted a new name Wink (we watch a lot of Pingu in this house, I'm something of an expert Grin)

Solars · 10/12/2013 17:04

Yay congratulations, go team pink Pen glad the scan went well and baby co-operated.

Wow already 12 weeks Stacks glad it went well. I've never heard of that thing you mentioned but hope it gets all sorted.

Sweetie those little ones are very comfortable in there and to think I thought you'd be before Keep

Maybe how are you doing? Are you off the sickness meds now?

keepitgoing · 10/12/2013 17:16

I know solars! Today would have been the day i would have been induced, and yet she's a month old! I thought I'd be after sweetie too!! sweetie are you feeling any twinges, or thinking we have to wait another week?! you must be super prepared, having thought you wouldn't get this far, opposite to me!

ooh, have just foundt he bouncy chair to be a hit, esp when pointed at the xmas tree lights.

musicalmrs · 10/12/2013 17:17

Congratulations Pen! Glad the baby cooperated Smile

SweetieTime · 10/12/2013 18:00

keep i am resigned to the fact its likely to be Monday now. I haven't had any sign of natural exit happening. Glad kip likes her chair & Christmas lights combo.

Who knew Pingu had a baby sister!! I suppose we will all be more up to speed with kids tv in the coming years.

Fox82 · 10/12/2013 18:57

Congrats on the scans pen and stacks!

Sorry I've been quiet lately. I've been getting home later than usual and falling asleep very early! I've been reading everyone's news though, but I'm not very good at remembering everything!

Sounds like you're a natural keep!

Not long to go sweetie!

TheLittleFriend · 10/12/2013 19:25

Sweetie, then you will be shocked to learn that he also has a girlfriend called Pingi Grin

SantaMaybe · 10/12/2013 19:32

Keep what a crazy thought!! Does it still seem surreal?

How is MrS feeling Sweetie?

Are you still feeling good Fox? Other than the tiredness?

I'm off them Solars, but had to take them yesterday. I've discovered that if I overdo it it don't get enough rest, it comes back with a bang. I've not worked the last two days as have felt so ill, but it's cos I've been totally overdoing it with work. Need to find the right balance. It's much better than it was though Xmas Smile

You are the font of all knowledge Little Xmas Grin

GenericDietCola · 10/12/2013 19:35

Great scan news, pen and stacks!

Sweetie I am so excited for you!! I think dib and dab will come sooner than eviction day Wink

SweetieTime · 10/12/2013 19:50

Little there is sooooooo much to learn in this parenting lark!!! Grin

Maybe MrS is excited cos he thinks he will NEED a new car in the New Year to accommodate all the gubbings we need to cart around for DTs. I am not sure he has his priorities right but hey ho. He finishes on Friday for 4 weeks so is looking forward to having time off - little does he know what is going to hit him WinkGrin

Fox look after yourself and rest up when you need to.

Generic lovely to see you popping in. I am ok whatever happens now. I feel surprisingly zen about it all. I do have my rescue remedy ready just in case, do you think that should get me through????

OP posts:
Fox82 · 10/12/2013 20:15

Look after yourself maybe - try not to overdo it. You're more important than work

Grin to MrS not knowing what's going to hit him! Lovely he's got 4 weeks off with you though sweetie

Yes I'm still feeling fine thanks maybe. I know I'm very lucky, but it's making me a bit nervous as I had a blighted ovum miscarriage years back, and I always thought things weren't right as I didn't have any symptoms. I am feeling tired and a little sick this time, and have no spotting yet unlike with the miscarriage, but just feel uneasy about it all. I think I might see about getting an early scan but not sure how to go about it. I have my first gp appointment next Tuesday so don't know if I can mention it then, or if I just need to pay privately somewhere?

SantaMaybe · 10/12/2013 21:12

Xmas Grin Sweetie are we married to the same person?!

Fox one thing I have learnt about pregnancy is that everyone is different. No symptoms=a symptom. It's a brooking motto Xmas Wink. If you have an understanding GP they may send you for a scan. But I paid for my early scan, but it was money very well spent. Think of it as a Christmas present!!
