The beard trimmer is the only safe way when you can't see what you are doing anymore.

Just looked at the price for private rooms in here, £499 a night Shock

TobyLerone · 19/11/2013 18:08

Shock another!

How are you doing, anyway?

MrsVDB · 19/11/2013 18:13

Where are you another? The ritz??

I'm still shaving very infrequently by feel. I'm sure it's not 100% but gets the worst of it off! I plan on having a wax towards the end

AnotherStitchInTime · 19/11/2013 18:22

QCCH London dahling, over crowded labour wards and not enough beds, but space for two empty private rooms that no one can afford!

I am ok, still in hospital, but been keeping busy visiting my due date buddy on labour ward today, taking her hot food as they only provide sandwiches up there. She has been up there with bleeding and contractions for two days, but as we are only 30 weeks they don't want to deliver her yet and are giving her something to stop the labour.

sarahleanne · 19/11/2013 19:16

This thread has made me laugh soo much tonight and I was feeling really crappy so its cheered me up Grin

I don't like apricots so I have eaten a whole tub of blueberries instead, they're lush. I've also got fruit toast and strawberries to eat later as I cannot be assed to cook tonight Blush.

I have done some serious nesting this past 2 days! Strangely my back has eased off and is still painful but i'm managing to walk ok now. I have totally cleared out the games room, swept and mopped all the floor, took all the net curtains down and washed them, scrubbed the windows, turfed out my kitchen cupbards, washed it all then put everything back in in order . Tomorrow I will be going to buy some fabric to cover my dining room chairs, except I cant find the pissing tape measure so I have worked out they are a length and 3/4s of a baby wipes packet each way. The shop assistant is going to think i'm a FREAK Confused.

Thankyou for the beard trimmer idea, I am so using DH's when he gets home.I am still doing the shave in the shower and then check in the mirror when I get out which is not a good look!!

Toothfairy78 · 19/11/2013 19:42

Erm evening all,

So I turn away for the day and we've got D&V, fat hairy fanjos and thin poos?

Suppose 2out of 3 ain't too bad.

Bump seems to have doubled in size today. Reckon it'll be Twelfth Night before I see the lady garden withou assistance of a mirror. Luckily I have mirrors and a bikini perfect, which trims, shaves and epilates. Trimmer is perfect for now but have to use mirror and lift bump out of the way!

Are thin poos a sign of baby having dropped in then?

BookTart · 19/11/2013 19:50

I nearly circumcised myself with a pair of scissors trying to tidy up my undercarriage recently, so since that point I've just left it. I was planning to ask DH to sort it out for me, but now that sultana has said it is a different colour I've decided against it. A different colour? Bloody hell!

Yes also to the massive fanjo. Mine is also sore externally, so I don't think it is thrush. It would be lovely to sit on the sofa and give it an airing, but I think I'd scare the cats and husband

Hope you aren't too bored in there another- glad you've got a friend to visit.

BuntCadger · 19/11/2013 20:07

Lol yes at the fat fanjos, i had a look last weekend and mine looks different too. I borrow dh beard trimmer. I made mistake of veet when preg with ds2 and accidently got it by my back bottom and it burned like hell!

My poo changed too (lots looser tmi) and I think it's because baby head down and getting in postion. Physically I'm feeling easily knackered and aching.

Totally disorganised, dd still loves her cot so bought crib for baby but nowhere to put it till I move cot.

Raspberry leaf tea, I used it with ds2 and 8 hour labour, I didnt with dd1 and 2.5 hours start to finish so I don't know if it helps

Ill be having a side room again. Not sure if ill stay over as left quick after dd but in hindsight may of been good to have a night with just her

fryingpantoface · 19/11/2013 20:26

No real idea tooth for me it is, it was the same with ds. That was a fun time!

Naturegirl82 · 19/11/2013 20:47

oh ladies you have made me laugh tonight, which is just what I needed after a really crappy day at work.

Nothing much to add. I'm still being waxed so no beard trimmers over here.

TobyLerone · 19/11/2013 20:48

If you need a laugh, I'll tell you an amazing fact that DD told me the other day:

'Booby trap' is 'party boob' backwards :o

flyawayblue · 19/11/2013 20:58

Loving the thread this evening Smile

Glad someone asked about swollen bits, everything's been felling very puffy though I haven't been brave enough to look.

Angelesque · 19/11/2013 21:10

Glad some people are finding OHs annoying; I keep finding myself getting really pissed off with DH. However, he's not doing anything wrong as such... I just suddenly seem to be on a short fuse! I have zero tolerance for any "amusing remarks" or teasing - I'm suddenly so intolerant!

Tonight I wanted to shout at at him for eating his dinner too loudly. I managed not to.

Right now he is diligently downloading our hypnobirthing mp3s. He is being a great husband!

What's happening to me?!!

Angelesque · 19/11/2013 21:15

Ref lady garden trimming... I was wondering about this for the big day. Surely it's easier for them to see what's going on if you've trimmed it all down?!

MrABC · 19/11/2013 21:49

You lot are a chatty bunch! Lots to catch up on just from today!

Toby MrsABC is well thanks and comforted by hearing you guys going through all the same things.

Book Yep, WHH here too. We are due mid Jan but obviously that doesn't mean too much. When are you due? I'm sure there was a list somewhere but no idea where that would be now.

Frizz1986 · 19/11/2013 21:50

Loving all this sophisticated talk tonight.

Def yes to massive fanjo. Noticed mine the other week and had a mirror peak and it looked v dodgy. Feels much nicer now tho so not sure if bubs had just been pushing v hard down there.

On the bum front.......i havent really had to strain yet (think my vitamins have stopped most of the constipation) but over the past few days there has been a bit of blood when wiping. And then even without passing a stool, i have given a quick wipe and there is a smear of blood. Do you think i have something going on inside and its just leaking out and needs to heal. Is there any cream i could put on to help?
I think i have a tear in the area to be honest as about a year ago i had blood and there was all that bowel cancer stuff on tv so got checked out and the doc said nothing wrong, cant see a problem.

Urgh pregnancy worries.

Our MLU has a double bed in and looks a bit like centre parcs inside. No visiting hours and we can stay for up to 24 hours and dh can stay over with me. Really hope all goes well and i can go there as couldnt bare to send dh away once his first child is born.

On the lady garden front....dh also says it looks like an afro down there, so i told him he could sort it for me if he wanted as i cant see a thing. He hasnt taken me up on the offer yet but if he doesnt i really dont care what it looks like when i am in labour as i am gonna be pushing a melon out of it so pretty sure it is going to look horrific to whoever is there with fluff or without. Maybe the fluff will conceal some of the horror!

My flatulence has increased 6 fold today. Felt v sick this morning and bump has been really uncomfortable, plus had a loose stool and then the farts arrived, but because of the loose stool i was worried extra would come out so had to keep rushing to the toilet at work whenever the flatulence was too much to take, just in case. Pregnancy is so embarassing. They never tell you about htis stuff.

I dont think it helps that as my nephew was early, all i cant think about now is prem labour and so if bump gets uncomfortable or loose stools or pains i think its a sign when i know its just normal. Argh!!!!!

Dh seems to have perked up today and has managed to get an interview on friday so back to fingers and toes crossed.

Had my maternit meeting today and all is as i thought so thats good. Work has been ok too and i havent been overdoing it. Have not worried about covering my bosses work (she said not to unless i was quiet) but clearly she hasnt told others that i am not covering as they keep passing things onto me or asking me to do things in her absence.

Ummm what else have i read on this thread tonight??

another hope things are still ok inside.

Yay to all the nesting but boo to bump size explosions. Although i think this is what happens from now on.... The bump just grows gigantic.

TobyLerone · 19/11/2013 22:04

I met a couple of friends for lunch today and they both commented on how small my bump is with 6-odd weeks to go. It'll be interesting to see what I'm measuring at the mw next week, seeing as last time I was measuring 2 weeks ahead.

Good luck (again) to MrFrizz!

DH has an interview tomorrow. It's no big deal because he's (luckily) not desperate for a job, but he was approached by this company on twitter with, and I quote, "what do we have to do to get you to come and work for us?"
Obviously I told him to go in with a ridiculously high salary and 3 days a week working from home, and let them negotiate him down a bit!

Not sure about your bum, frizz! When do you next see the mw? If it's not soon, maybe make a GP appointment to get it checked. It's probably an internal pile or something.

Frizz1986 · 19/11/2013 22:13

toby Midwife is a week tomorrow so still a wait but tbh by the time i could get a doc app it would prob be sometime next week anyway.

Good luck to your dh tomorrow. Hope he manages to get them to offer good!

Sultanajo · 19/11/2013 22:50

Well just got back from breast feeding nct class - was definitely worth going. Feeling more confident about it all.

Finally heard from my mate - after 5 sweeps, one pessary and breaking waters and being stuck at 2-3cms for two days, she has finally had a little girl! Yay!!! Grin

Re grooming, after cutting myself a few weeks back, I will be sticking with beard trimmers from now on, but will wait til nearer the time as cant face letting DH do it and its such an effort to do it! Blush

DH and I watched a baby first aid dvd at the weekend and he has managed to get hold of a resucitation baby doll from work. Well it is freaking me out just looking at it and DH has just snapped "I will just take it straight back if you are gonna be like that!" Honestly! He didnt ask me if I wanted him to bring one home....its something he wants to try as he couldnt visualise how much pressure to use etc. Dont know why its freaking me out so much, but he is acting like I asked him to bring it home and then acting like brat! Its pissing me off! Not helped by the wise crack jokes he kept making during tonights class while I was trying to absorb everything like a sponge.....Hmm Am sure he would have listened more if he was gonna have to breast feed the baby....

Right, back to fanjos...Grin Yeah when I checked it, it looked purply rather than pink. Have read that is normal, but still wasnt prepared!!!Shock

Toothfairy78 · 19/11/2013 23:52

Aaaarrggh, I'm so uncomfortable! I feel like a blimmin' space hopper or something! Complained about it to DH this evening and DH says I'm a sweet little spacehopper. Huff.

24 days til mat leave starts! 45 data to my due date!

Good luck to mrFrizz!

Bluecarrot · 20/11/2013 03:58

Woke up with the most horrendous pain in one side of my belly. DP was pretty useless but deep breathing really helped! Think it was a muscle cramp but I couldn't use my arms to push myself up without making pain worse. :( Thankfully I kinda wiggled my way out if bed and it eased once I was standing. Having doubts on my ability to do this whole labour thing now!

I forgot to ask about private rooms at the antenatal class but plenty of time to work it out. Will ask next week.

Fanjo felt really swollen for me at 31 weeks but now it feels ok (for now at least!) and lady garden has had no attention since I stopped being able to see it without using a mirror. Should probably take a few mins to tidy up... Seems a lot of effort though!

quackojuliet · 20/11/2013 07:18

Yes to swollen bits, had a shock yesterday after dh gave me a haircut.
I too am feeling like a spacehopper at 33 weeks tomorrow. Baby doesn't seem to like me driving anymore as I think my position squashes her so that's a bit of a challenge on the way to and from work...but only 10 working days to go!!!
Slept poorly last night and got a full on day at work then antenatal class til late. Going to try and be shockingly inefficient at work so I get some space.

Frizz1986 · 20/11/2013 07:44

Grrr to any annoying dhs etc.
Yesterday in the car dh grabbed my knee (something which he really likes doing as it spazzes my leg, i dont like it and never have) but this time i proper yelled at him not to do it and reminded him that I am 7 months pregnant so he should assume i am always in a mood. He found that rather amusing and thought i should wear it as a badge.

fryingpantoface · 20/11/2013 07:51

I'm in such a foul mood today, I genuinely feel sorry for everyone around me at the moment.

The three of us all have colds. DS ended up sleeping in our bed with us which meant I had no room as DH still sleeps towards the middle and DS was on my side of the bed, so I was stuck there. It didn't end well.

I kept waking up because of bad reflux (ouch) and on top of that a really sore throat. So it wasn't fun and I didn't sleep very well. Still, at work until Midday and then my MIL is picking up DS from nursery tomorrow for the afternoon. So just a few hours to go until bed. I intend to go to bed really early tonight as I desperately need sleep.

I've also popped out. I finish work on 13 December, which is only 23 days

Lol frizz thats so true. They should make a badge with that on. My oh has got into the lovely habit of calling me 'Pregzilla' he thinks he's so funny when he says it in front of our friends hmmm.
No swollen bits here that ive noticed but the thrush and piles has been enough to keep me worrying about that area lately.
Midwife today ugh. Rly cant stand the woman. Talks to me like I'm a teenager not a 33 year old woman. That's not til 1 anyway.
Hope you all have a lovely day ??
