Brilliant news, mythree!

Sultana, DS was 7lb11oz at birth and wore newborn clothes for at least a month or so. They're often bigger than they say.

fryingpantoface · 27/11/2013 20:06

mythree that's brilliant, i'm so pleased for you.

sultanta my ds was in newborn/up to one month/first size until he was about three months old. He was 7lb 10oz when he was born. We found Asda and Next clothes to be massive on him

mythree so pleased it went better than expected... Hope you're getting a chance to chill and recover

Felix90 · 27/11/2013 20:33

Mythree that's brilliant news Smile glad it went well for you.

I will probably wash then. We have switched to non-bio already but can I still use fabric softener? I suppose it will give me something to do in the last few weeks. I'm just worried that I'll take the tags off and wash everything then have stuff that won't fit but I won't be able to take it back.

TobyLerone · 27/11/2013 20:42

I'm using Persil non-bio and Comfort Pure on the baby stuff. I'm sure the non-bio thing won't last long once the baby's here and I'm shoving its onesies in with DS's rugby kit :o

Naturegirl82 · 27/11/2013 20:49

So pleased it went well for you mythree. Hopefully that will be the end of it.

I'm feeling out of sorts. Think I'm worrying about the lack of definite plans at work and it's starting to make me feel stressed as I can't plan anything and there is so much to do around the house. Think the combination of stress and tiredness is just making me feel a bit crappy. Just need to keep ploughing on I guess.

toby sorry your dh didn't pass. Practice makes perfect though so hopefully next time he will be fine.

Can't remember anything else that has been said sorry.

Sultanajo · 27/11/2013 20:52

frying and toby that's good to know about sizes of newborn clothes. Hopefully little monkey will get some wear and perhaps the sonographers prediction of 8-9lbs will be wrong....

I am using fairy non-bio and comfort pure. Just taken the first lot out of the machine and it smells yummy!

Sultanajo · 27/11/2013 20:55

Grrrrr nature I hate being in limbo and not being able to plan. You have my sympathies! Poor you!

extracrunchy · 27/11/2013 20:56

Mythree that's such good news! Well done for being so brave Smile

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/11/2013 21:36

mythree fantastic news, and so glad you are sounding upbeat and chipper about it all. I hope the scar heals fast and any test results come back clear.

Have had a weird tightening kind of pain right across the middle of my bump for the past two days - not regular, and not coming and going (i.e. I have it for an hour, then not for three or four, then for three hours), so not BH, I don't think. Feels like someone is slowly but surely pressing outwards from inside (maybe it is?) or like I badly pulled a muscle. What is it? Any second/third timers remember this? It makes me wince slightly, but it's not bad enough to take paracetemol, just naggy.

We have a sofa! This may seem like 'meh' to everyone else, but we have sat on two v low, v old, horsehair stuffed chairs (not big enough to be armchairs) for the past three weeks and I cannot WAIT to stretch out on a sofa. Plus it's purple, so it's automatically the best sofa ever.

toby sorry your OH failed - I did the first time too. Made me super-determined to pass second time (I am cheap and the test is ££). I did - I'm sure he will too.

Can't remember much else, apart from altered fuck yeah to Disney passes!

SIX MORE DAYS AT WORK!

Frizz1986 · 27/11/2013 21:43

mythree what good news. Glad you dont have to go back and it all went better than expected.

Just had a lovely bath followed by some pregnancy relaxation on the ipod. How nice!

extracrunchy · 27/11/2013 21:47

By the way does anyone have any experience with oil of evening primrose in late pregnancy?? MIL has recommended but I hadn't heard about it before.

TobyLerone · 27/11/2013 22:16

Yay for new sofa, Humpty!
As for the weird pain, this part of pregnancy is full of them! Something pushing out from inside would seem likely. Can you feel anything from outside? I'm constantly having to gently remove tiny protruberances from my ribs/sides now.

Re evening primrose oil, I have heard of sticking the capsules up one's lady parts right at the very end of pregnancy (like 39 weeks plus). Softens the cervix, apparently.

MrsGSR · 27/11/2013 22:24

Thanks for the birthday wishes :) one of my presents from DH was a dog toy that walks and then does a back flip. He remembered me telling him that when I was a kid I really wanted one, then my sister was given one for Christmas and I was really upset. I had to share as I thought it was really sweet!

So glad things went well mythree

MrsGSR · 27/11/2013 22:25

humpty I understand about the new sofa, we bought one a few months ago and DH has asked me to try and not let my waters break when I'm sat on it!

Naturegirl82 · 27/11/2013 22:40

Sorry it's late but happy birthday mrsgsr. Your dh sounds very sweet.

I just had a melt down on dh. I was trying very hard not too as he is mega stressed about work at the moment but the flood gates opened. Anyone else panicking about how much is left to do in so little time? I'm also starting to worry about actually having a baby to look after. I don't feel like I have a clue and am worried I'll be a terrible mum Sad

extracrunchy · 27/11/2013 22:49

Aw MrsG that is lovely Smile

extracrunchy · 27/11/2013 22:49

(Not sure I fancy shoving primrose oil up my foof...)

Frizz1986 · 27/11/2013 22:52

nature i have had several meltdowns at dh and i always feel much better afterwards. I think its good to let all your built up emotions out.
I don't think you need to worry though as i am sure you will be a fab mum. As long as you love your baby and try your best then you will be ace.

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 27/11/2013 23:11

toby you're probably right, it's just that it's been that way for several days for long spells, and doesn't feel like a limb. Maybe a bum, I suppose.

Meant to say earlier, enormouse your DH is making me Angry on your behalf, but hoping it's just last dregs of pre baby jitters.

nature sometimes the only cure is a meltdown. Sounds like you could do with a nice treat this weekend, poor you.

enormouse · 28/11/2013 08:20

Ick toby. I don't think I can reach there anymore, let alone insert capsules up it.

I had an awful realisation today at about 6am that I'm going to have to give birth at some point. I had mentally blocked that bit out. Panicked that I haven't packed the bag or made arrangements for DS or done anything. nature you aren't alone.

Thanks everyone for your righteous indignation on my behalf. DP is currently unaware he's upset the vipers nest. Smile.

fryingpantoface · 28/11/2013 08:21

It's tough being pregnant, I figure we're entitled to meltdowns.

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 28/11/2013 08:30

I haven't packed a bag yet, either.

Haha, enormouse :) I couldn't reach either. I was tempted to have a quick furtle around last night because the baby was punching me so hard in the pelvic floor I swear I could have felt it from inside, IYSWIM. But I soon came to my senses.

Midwife today. I haven't seen her since 28 weeks. It feels like ages!

MrsVDB · 28/11/2013 08:41

Ha ha toby

humpty I get those strange feelings too. Sometimes if I press my hand where the pain is I can feel a hard bit like a head/bum (can you tell I have no idea which way is up!) and if I press hell move. Speak to midwife if your worried but sounds normal to me. I've found everything is just more painful at the moment. My stitch pain keeps coming back and I also get a hot pressing out feeling at the front sometimes. I think it's just what happens

Got my 32w growth scan today, he was spot on average last time so I'm hoping for the same again (and hopefully not a 2hr wait to see consultant after!)

nature I think my dh is more at the panicking stage than me. The house is still a building site but we can see the end. All rooms needs skirting and decorating and most need flooring but apart from that were not really that far away, dh is so stressed though (I've never known him stressed in 5 years we've been together) and its worrying me slightly. I've got most things for hospital bag (thanks to baby shower) but don't have a bag yet it's in a rather pretty crate which if worse comes to worse I could use ha ha

Naturegirl82 · 28/11/2013 08:53

Shows just how much I wasn't with it yesterday and how many boxes of unpacked stuff I have in my hallway as I hadn't even realised my pram arrived yesterday. How exciting. Will need to unpack it over the weekend to check it is all ok obviously Grin
