Ooh Felix put them on eBay if they're unopened!! Goldmine Grin

flyawayblue · 26/11/2013 20:21

Happy birthday Sarah Smile

Quack your right to think of you'll be worrying about phoning in and moving about the classroom. If I was in your position I would talk to the doctors and finish two weeks early.

mythree loads of luck for tomorrow I will be thinking of you and I love the idea of the iPod and headphones.

Everything is so tight today and I've had horrible sharp electric pains in or behind my belly button. Very odd and hoping they go away...

For weight I've put on 10 pounds so far, but that's mostly due to losing loads in the first 12 weeks, so have actually put on loads in the last few months.

MrABC · 26/11/2013 20:27

Sultanajo I was just as confused when looking at the nappies in the shops. I went for some Pampers in size 1 which, if I remember correctly, is for 4-11lbs where as the size 2 are for 6-13lbs. Very confusing! I'm sure its only a guide as a single weight baby will probably come in all different shapes and sizes! Hoping that as long as you fall somewhere in the range all will be ok.

I've read that different brands fit slightly differently so will probably be trying a few different ones to start with.

MrABC · 26/11/2013 20:32

Hope everyone is well, or at least coping as well as they can.

Thoughts are with you Mythree and hoping everything goes well.

I can report that I haven't put any weight on as yet ducks to avoid flying objects, but will expect this to change by the end of Christmas! Wink

Felix90 · 26/11/2013 20:35

Has anyone seen those NCT Bednest things? I've just been looking at them and now I really want one. You can hire one for 6 months for just over 100 quid too. Really considering it!

TobyLerone · 26/11/2013 20:43

We almost got one, felix, but we went for the Troll bedside crib instead.

TarkaTheOtter · 26/11/2013 20:55

This is what I found with dd:

In the early days the "fit" of the nappy is more important than how absorbent it is because they poo all the time so the nappy won't get a chance to get too full of wee. So makes sense to stick to smaller size that fits.

Once they are a few weeks old though they stop pooing do much so you don't need to change them all the time (particularly at night). Then absorbency is important and the bigger the nappy is the more absorbent so it's worth moving them up as soon as you reach the minimum weight on the next size up.

Felix90 · 26/11/2013 21:00

Toby I just looked at the Troll one but we have a weird bed with a big frame so I think there would be a gap between our mattress and the crib as it doesn't physically attach to the bed like the bednest does Hmm it looks great for the price too! Just priced up rental for 6 months with delivery/damage insurance and sheets and it's £145. I'm very tempted to order one come payday.

fryingpantoface · 26/11/2013 21:07

It's a good job you ducked MrABC!

saying that, I'm still 1.5 stones lighter than i started. Maybe a little bit more. I'm all baby, lost weight on my face (can see cheekbones) chest (can clearly see clavicle now!) i look very very different to how i did pre pregnancy.

it's changed the way i eat. I left half a cream cake! Which is unheard of, especially as it was a meringue one, as i felt full. So fingers crossed when the baby is here i stick at it

MrABC · 26/11/2013 21:12

Great info Tarka. Makes perfect sense when you think about the absorbency going up with the size.

MrABC · 26/11/2013 21:21

Well done frying!

Realised I'm playing with fire with all you lovely ladies so hopefully no-one takes offence! MrsABC lost a little weight before falling pregnant which she was really happy about. Once she was pregnant it was all about getting a good balanced diet and you're right about it all being about the way you eat so well done for leaving extra half of cream cake!

sarahleanne · 26/11/2013 21:23

frizz my friend was 27 weeks! bless her, so scary.

Thankyou for all the birthday messages. DH is away but sent me presents and flowers and my mum turned up with a birthday cake mainly for the kids who loved blowing out the candles.

I can remember some conversations but not who wrote them.
Someone was saying baby is lying oblique/transverse? I span my baby by putting my feet on the sofa and hands on the floor and raising myself in the air so i'm hanging head down off the sofa. I did this for a few weeks and at my next appointment baby was head down.Sorry for the crap explanation. The position is on the spinning babies website.

sarahleanne · 26/11/2013 21:36

mythree I hope all goes well tomorrow.

Cant remember who was talking about weight but I was 10 stone pre pregnancy and I am now 13 stone Shock. I put on 4 stone with DS, 3 stone with DD so everyone is kindly telling me how I am a fat cow and it's definitely a boy Blush (I have no clue what sex it is!!). I'm obviously going to put on 4 stone this time though but the good thing is it falls off afterwards so everyone thinks you look great really quickly with suck in knickers on Grin

quackojuliet · 26/11/2013 21:40

Thanks for everyones thoughts on my little work dilemma, going to be off tomorrow then chat to midwife at appt on thurs and probably get signed off. My dh says pack it in, stepmother insists I should stay as long as pos.
I guess nobody knows how the balance of my job and how I feel lies,so really I just have to go with instinct...

Naturegirl82 · 26/11/2013 21:41

Happy birthday Sarah

Good luck tomorrow mythree hope everything goes ok

Realised today that I don't have as much handover left to do as I thought which is good. Going to update my boss at the end of the week so hopefully we can agree an end date then. Smile

extracrunchy · 26/11/2013 22:15

I'd put on about 2 stone last time I checked but have really lost the will to eat healthily over the last couple of weeks Confused had a Chinese and a huge Fruit & Nut for dinner just now....

Mac2014 · 26/11/2013 22:37

Just catching up on my way home from a last night out with the girls.

Went for dinner and now feel like I'm going to pop. Had onion soup with the cheesiest croutons and then mac n cheese. Really wanted both at the time, however no slightly regretting the double dose of gruyere ... Cheese sweats and a twilight stomach!

Hope all are well.

Toothfairy78 · 27/11/2013 00:11

Evenin again!

Just noticed it's mrsGSR's birthday tomorrow, so Happy Birthday MrsG!

I have half day of tomorrow. Hopefully I won't miss my hair appt again!

Also hoping air con at work will behave. It's been yo-yo-ing up to 33C and down to 17C today. I got really puffy and uncomfortable and was about to pick up my work to go home when dept. Head phones in with urgent matter which necessitated me commandeering his much cooler office (at 25C) and flinging the windows open.

Just 2 more weeks after this, then mat leave!

fryingpantoface · 27/11/2013 01:39

Morning, I'm awake. A redundant statement i know, but I'm awake and not happy about it.

pretty sure the baby has moved from his obliging engaged-ness and is now transverse. Sigh. Still, I'm only 32+6 so there's a while to go, even if i do feel like i should be much further on by now.

cant even say i woke up because i needed to pee. This time it's because i have toothache. Pretty sure my filling needs replacing, but because we've moved we don't have a dentist and no one here is taking on nhs patients. Weighing up emergency dentisting it, but they might not see me as I'm not in agony...

another sigh.

so now i cant sleep. The wind is howling past the window, my tooth hurts, I'm so freaking wide, and I've got Thomas the Fucking Tank Engine songs repeating in my head.

final long suffering sigh

had best try and sleep

extracrunchy · 27/11/2013 03:05

I'm bloody awake now! Bah...

Happy birthday MrsG!

TobyLerone · 27/11/2013 03:08

:( frying. Toothache is the worst. The only trouble with emergency dentist is that they will usually only do a temporary fix, then send you to a normal dentist to fix it properly.

Being awake sucks, huh? I'm awake because I had a really vivid zombie dream Hmm

TobyLerone · 27/11/2013 03:08

Happy birthday, MrsG!

sarahleanne · 27/11/2013 04:28
