another that's good - you deserve some rest if you're going to be stuck there for a bit. Is there stuff we can post you? Magazines? Do you have a tablet there or something for entertainment?

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 23/11/2013 14:20

extra yes to everything you said! Im excited and impatient for the new arrivals... Well, arrival, but still can't imagine another baby, that belongs to me, that isn't DD. That sounds odd, but there you go.

Congrats on your husbands Job news, frizz! That's so exciting. My DH has been looking for a while, got an interview for a great position and was down to the final two. They chose the other applicant over a technicality. He was really unhappy. The job he has now is good, so he's just sitting for now as we'll see what happens in the new year.

I'm covered in bruises from my gtt still. The crooks of both arms are black and blue, and one has a broken vein that has pooled purple in an inch diameter. I look and feel a mess! I'm determined to find time to get my hair done before Christmas. I will not have this baby looking like bloody Wurzel Gummidge.

Bought my first Christmas treat today. Now I have a box of Quality Street staring at me from the kitchen. And no willpower. Help.

Felix90 · 23/11/2013 17:34

Onlythepurpleones I have bought chocolate oranges today! I don't think they will last past the weekend...

Been to my first NCT class today. Never felt so middle class in my whole life! We were definitely the youngest and the only unwed couple in the group which felt kind of strange. Very good and informative though, and I learnt a lot. Been sat all day though and SPD playing up loads, very painful Hmm

TobyLerone · 23/11/2013 17:40

Oooh, I am Envy of chocolate oranges!

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 23/11/2013 17:41

Hi Felix! I love chocolate orange... I just discovered the bars and have been scarfing them at any given opportunity.

Will not open box.

Felix90 · 23/11/2013 17:43

£1 each in asda at the moment!

TobyLerone · 23/11/2013 17:46

Gah! I LOATHE Asda :(

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 23/11/2013 18:01

A Chocolate orange is a pound?!? Bloody hell - was tempted to treat myself to to the popping candy one today whilst surveying the Christmas sugar-based delights at the hypermarket. They are equivalent of about four and a half quid here.

Felix90 · 23/11/2013 18:20

Where abouts are you?

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 23/11/2013 18:28

Not

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 23/11/2013 18:29

3000 miles from the nearest Asda!!

I don't know what that 'not' is about. Sorry.

Felix90 · 23/11/2013 18:30

Eek! Definitely worth 4 quid 50 though Wink

MrsVDB · 23/11/2013 18:34

Casabu has wall stickers on sale today

wall stickers

sarahleanne · 23/11/2013 18:36

another and choco you both sound like your having a bloody awful time of it! Thinking of you both. I was stuck in hospital with DS and I really hated it so you both have my sympathies.

frizz woohooo to DHs job offer!! So chuffed for you both.

I found those chocolate oranges in CO OP the other day, I am very sorry I didn't inform you lot of it Grin They are sooo lush.i bought one for me and one for DH and accidentally on purpose ate half of dh's aswell.

Haha felix I remember feeling exactly like that with my first a few years ago (I was only 19). Everyone there seemed sooo much older I felt a bit uncomfortable.
SPD aswell, ouch. I have physio next week for it.

I am feeling shit today!! I have some kind of bug/heavy cold. I keep feeling sick, then I'm fine again, then im cold , then im pissing hot argh it's doing my head in. Early night for me I reckon. End of moan Grin

fryingpantoface · 23/11/2013 18:42

Today I embarked on a project which i've created at work and made my minions at work agree to feed back the results of it every week for 8 weeks.

I can't say much about it (honestly, not that exciting, it's just unless you work in a call centre it'll all be a but Hmm) but i'm really excited about it.

Hello all, Choco hope you feel better soon.
We've been to our first antenatal class today - 5 couples who all seemed nice and 3 couples live v close by so hoping that we might meet up! The class was really good and it made me realise that we are actually having a baby and will have to look after it, that sounds dumb but it all seems a bit theoretical at the moment. DH said he felt queasy looking at the labour pictures and discussing it so hopefully he'll man up and be alright on the day/night!

BookTart · 23/11/2013 18:52

We spent the day at antenatal class as well percy, but I managed to miss the session on labour a couple of weeks ago so this one was about breastfeeding/bath time/putting baby in cot. DH managed not to freak out too much. This time Grin

Where are you purple? Can we send emergency chocolate orange packages?

OnlyThePurpleOnes · 23/11/2013 19:00

Percy you should bring your husband to te classes at my hospital, where they show an actual placenta and let everyone have a good look! My DH was green...

Book you're very kind, but I shall just insist DH furnishes me with a plentiful supply in exchange for growing his second daughter for him. Seems like a fair swap to me... (Obviously I'll need at least one of each flavour.)

fryingpantoface · 23/11/2013 20:25

Anyone watching Dr who tonight? We're recording it, but wont be watching for another hour or so at best.

I'm trying to get ds to settle, he's fighting it. I need him to sleep so that I can!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 23/11/2013 21:19

frying I just watched it. I quite liked it, but I'm not a proper Whovian, so a lot of it went over my head.

Sultanajo · 23/11/2013 23:23

Great news on good classes all round!

another thats good you are next in line for a private room! You totally deserve it!

Spent the afternoon with a couple of mates and one of their 4 yr old girls who is lovely and decided I was gonna be her bestie for the whole visit. However it was knackering! Where do they get all their energy?

DHs mate is round tonight and I am amazed I managed to stay up this late. Have now left them watching Wolverine downstairs and am in bed....bliss!

Heres to hopefully a good nights sleep all round!

Thinking of you choco Smile

Frizz1986 · 23/11/2013 23:37

another hope the private room becomes available soon.

I watched Dr who frying I am not a mega fan but enjoy it as general tv. I was a bit meh by the whole thing. They bigged it up so much that I dont think it would ever live up to the hype.

So i am still up and have no idea why as i am knackered after the manchester markets today, but did have an hour snooze when we got home. Walked around for 3 hours so felt very proud although back killed by the end. Almost had a toilet related meltdown.....I was queing for the m&s toilets (massive line) and dh said that he found some other toilets with no one queing, turned out it was just another entrance to the same toilets so I lost my place in the line. Dh said to just use the disabled but i just cant because i am only pg not disabled and its my own fault i didnt find a toilet sooner.... Anyway almost cried but managed to make it to selfridges and use theirs (no queue)

How i am i not quite organised for baby yet, but have just done my shopping list for next saturdays food shop??

Oh and thanks for the baby move tips. Had some cold pepsi tonight and bubs was jiggling away. Although am now craving it but know it will mean me up all night peeing......what the hell, its not like i sleep well anyway!

TobyLerone · 23/11/2013 23:45

I can't believe nobody let you go in front, frizz :(

Small children really are knackering, sultana. My nephew was over today. He's just turned 2 and is the most adorable baby I've ever known. He's actually the reason we're having one now!
But he is seriously knackering. DH is his favourite person at the moment, so he had to do all the playing/taking him upstairs to see the tortoise/getting all the things out of DS's room for him to play with (he loves the skateboards and the guitars)...
By the time he'd gone poor DH was exhausted!

fryingpantoface · 24/11/2013 09:10

Oh my, sounds like it's all going on!

i watched Dr who. I like David Tennant. Couldn't care less about the rest of it.

anyone else measured their fundal height? I'm hoping I'm just rubbish at it as when i do it i measure 39. Am taking a tape measure to church as one of my friends friends is a midwife and she said she'd check

OP posts:
TobyLerone · 24/11/2013 09:27

I tried last night, frying, and we could only get it to measure 28cm (I'm 34 weeks).

Then this morning I had some serious BH (stupid duvet time!) so measured again then because I could so easily feel the top of my uterus and it was 31cm. Last time I saw the mw I was 2cm over. Seeing her again this week, so I'm sure I'll get a more accurate measurement.

I'm not sure it's helpful for us amateurs to try doing things like that. If I were more given to worrying, I'd have spent the night wide awake in a panic after measuring 6cm under last night!
