cherry fantastic news! congratulations.

chelsea that really sucks and that consultant is a B for saying something like that even if it's a joke. I would've punched her in the face.

stom sorry you're in such pain... try to rest as much as you can.

mrs yeah sounds like BH to me too.

OK so I'm 36+1 and I read baby should be starting to engage soon (it's my first), but NOTHING. No discharge, no signs of the plug, bump still really high. I know I'm doomed and I will go overdue. I really don't want to be induced as it makes it more painful and it's not the best for baby. But I think she's too comfy in there. it's like a 5* hotel in here. I'm so jealous of everyone having their babies or getting some clear signs.

Alyssa1978 · 24/11/2013 17:33

Definately bh mrs

stom I hope you can get some sort of relief soon Hun.

chelsea you poor thing, you must be so sick of hospital? I always thought I'd be a screamer but found out I'm extremely quiet and don't utter a sound but everyone copes with pain in a different way and regardless of what that midwife thinks, screaming may be helping that women cope Grin hope you're feeling better soon.

NomDeClavier · 24/11/2013 18:23

I screamed when pushing. It felt productive.

Feeling rubbish today. Pelvis is unstable, shooting pains in my leg, loads of Braxton Hicks and a really contrary 2 year :(

Ugh. Will do a proper reply later when child is hopefully asleep.

PistachioTruffle · 24/11/2013 18:33

Rose, don't worry too much about not feeling any different, I went to my last MW appointment and baby was 2/5 engaged, I honestly had no idea as I didn't get a change of feeling or any heaviness or anything that I was expecting! You might get a surprise at your next check up.

Stom and Chelsea, you poor women, I hope you get some respite (or a baby!) soon. you too Nom, and anyone else feeling rubbish Flowers

Falling pregnant with a December due date was very poor planning on mine and DP's part, I've got loads of Christmas shopping and family birthdays coming up to buy for, the shops are already heaving and I really cannot be bothered with it all! I love Christmas don't get me wrong, but the traipsing round the shops is a headache this year. Plus mini pistachio still doesn't have a name, which is bothering me too. Bah humbug!

MrsShrubs · 24/11/2013 18:34

OMG just seen a lady in China gave birth to a 13lb 10oz baby!!!!

meandbumpy · 24/11/2013 18:54

oooh cherry that's fabulous! Congratulations!! x

Hope you're doing ok chelsea and they're managing your pain, sounds awful.

You too stom, really hope you get some definitive answers soon so your mind is at rest.

Yeah mrs definitely sounds like BH.

So I'm 37+5 and I think all my complaining of not getting symptoms has done the trick. Yesterday I felt really edgy and had a massive fall out with dp accusing him of not being ready and not knowing what he was doing. I was such a bitch, going around panicking about everything. Then all through the night and today I've been having period pains, a kind of pressure/pushing low down and my BHs have started to get a bit painful at the bottom of my bump. I know it's very early days and could mean nothing but it's got me sooo excited! It's really difficult trying not to get my hopes up.

Roselau · 24/11/2013 18:55

there is hope!! thanks pistachio
I'm with you for the Christmas chaos. Poor timing on our part as well. On the other hand, for me it meant that I don't have to travel all over the place to visit family etc which I really hate (you have to take holidays for work just to stress out in airports - not pleasant).

Anyways, I am having a hard time getting into the christmas spirit this year too. I'm usually one to start baking and decorating as soon as I hear the first jingle bell. All my decorations and cooking things will probably arrive after christmas, and the fact that it's 20 degrees and sunny, and I'm huffing and puffing at the slightest effort, makes it so hard to get into the spirit.
I was telling DH yesterday how the hell did women work on the fields etc until they delivered?!? We must've gotten weaker with the generations.

Roselau · 24/11/2013 18:57

omg mrs was it a c-section at least??

MrsShrubs · 24/11/2013 19:21

Just had 2 really sharp shooting pains through my groin I ow ow ow!!

Chelsealady · 24/11/2013 19:23

Me to Mrs :( been getting them for the last 30 minutes!!!

MrsShrubs · 24/11/2013 19:26

Glad it's not just me chelsea

rose it actually doesn't say whether it was natural or not- in hoping csection otherwise that poor woman must be traumatised

mumoftwoboysS · 24/11/2013 19:39

Talking about screaming - I think the mw discourage it if you're just screaming a lot and not using your energy to push or concentrate on getting the baby out as it just wastes energy but like some say, some find it beneficial! I was pretty quiet with dc1 but with dc2 as I spent all my late labour in the car (all 15 mins of it) with just me and DH I just hollered all the way there- but more shouting/swearing. I didn't feel I had time to be composed and concentrate!

Who knows what I'll be like with no.3!...

chelsea hope the pains stop or you go into proper labour! Are you full term now? Surely they won't try and stop it a second time?

rose I didn't really get any warnings with either of mine so it doesn't mean your body isn't ready necessarily- with both my first inkling that I was ready was my waters breaking all over the place quite spectacularly- baby arriving a few hours later! Hasn't stopped me looking for signs this time tho- maybe i didn't look hard enough for them!

Chelsealady · 24/11/2013 19:47

Mum Im only 35 weeks tomorrow:( they said there not going to stop it anymore but just got to wait for it to progress into established labour....which could be weeks!

WhisperMen · 24/11/2013 21:40

just to update anyone not on fb thread. me and dp dtd and I think my waters went. at the hospital now waiting to be checked and have crampy pains. eek!

Chelsealady · 24/11/2013 21:42

Omg yaaay Whisper fingers crossed

PistachioTruffle · 24/11/2013 22:28

Oooh whisper! Any updates?

mumoftwoboysS · 24/11/2013 23:01

Exciting whisper good luck!

I can't sleep. Restless leg and baby head butting my fanjo. DH breathing heavily next to me, bed too warm, nose stuffy and can't stop dozens if thoughts going round my head- baby names, is it a boy or girl?, haven't washed any baby clothes yet, haven't got a Moses cot mattress or breast pump etc etc the list goes on!...

WhisperMen · 25/11/2013 00:14

it wasn't my waters so being sent home. once again I feel like an idiot Sad

extracrunchy · 25/11/2013 01:09

Whisper I did that last time! You're not an idiot - better safe than sorry.

MrsShrubs · 25/11/2013 01:45

Oh no sorry whisper

Have woken up 3 times in 2 hours and have now given up, had a huge bowl of cornflakes and going to watch crap tv. Feel really bloated which on top of being preggo is making me feel huge!!

PistachioTruffle · 25/11/2013 04:17

Whisper, you're not an idiot, you did the right thing by you and baby whisper by getting yourself checked out just in case. Hopefully you're tucked up in bed now having a lovely refreshing sleep!

I'm awake again, obviously Hmm Bloody heartburn!

snowqu33n · 25/11/2013 05:08

I have a question, of course we're all keen to meet the little one, but does anyone else wonder if they will miss the feeling of the baby's movements? Baby has been doing some wriggling today and I just wondered about that.

MildredH · 25/11/2013 07:15

Think I will snow.. To be honest despite my moans and groans ( piles and insomnia I will not miss you..) I have quite enjoyed pregnancy and feel lucky not to be at the stage of being desperate for it to finish.

I am excited for the next bit- I think- ! But will miss having Gizmo all to myself & having to share!

LadyMedea · 25/11/2013 07:30

snow I'm happy to switch to the movements happening on the outside where I can see them rather than feel them - as frankly they just bloody hurt a lot of the time! I'm determined to try and not get too fed up in this last bit (maximum 24 days left for me). I think enjoying it might be too strong a word, but I'm relatively healthy and being doted on by DH so can't really complain although have started to be a bit blue the last two days.

BetterWithCheese · 25/11/2013 07:46

snow I definitely missed being pregnant after having my DS, but not right away.

Whisper don't worry too much, that's what they're there for. And if your waters had gone and you'd not gone in they would have told you off!

Chelsea hope you're getting on ok. Sorry you're stuck in hospital Sad BUT hopefully you'll get to meet your baby soon Smile.

I set myself some great goals yesterday but only managed to pack baby's hospital bag and clean one toilet Confused. Am back at work for last full week so hopefully baby will stay put for a few weeks so I actually get a chance to get things done before she arrives! Am 36 weeks tomorrow.

Hope all those with insomnia get some catch up naps today!
