It's weird how long booking in takes, and how they just4 believe you. Good luck getting some work done driz and yay for booking in!

Erm, my 'morning sickness from the other end' has come back with a vengeance. It's awful, we were out today and I felt the need on the train, it was panic stations by the time I got home Is it just me that has this problem? Does anyone else take the Tesco pregnancy vitamins?

Also, headaches. There's a new fun thing Hmm

evilgiraffe · 22/11/2013 15:55

Sorry, winks, I have next to no symptoms. But I've been in that situation before - in fact last time I managed the whole bus ride but the 30 min walk home from the bus stop was too much and I ended up squatting in a ditch and using HOTB's sock for loo roll. It is utterly miserable - I was having it quite regularly before I stopped work too, so I think it's a major sign of stress for me. I hope it wears off for you! :)

Well done, driz! It is so weird how they just believe you. It still feels hugely made up, so other people treating me like a real differ is very strange!

KatAndKit · 22/11/2013 16:01

I take the pregnancy vitamins and have very much the opposite problem to you!

MyNameIsWinkly · 22/11/2013 16:05

kat I have had that problem in the past and today on the train I would have swapped in a second. driz oh my word! You poor thing, that's some story.

FrankelInFoal · 22/11/2013 16:55

Winks I had horrendous headaches for about weeks 7-13. I mentioned it to my midwife who said they are hormone related and nothing to worry about. I worried that they could be an early sign of pre-eclampsia (thanks Dr Google Hmm) but she said that PE doesn't become apparent till the third trimester.

Vitamin wise I found switching from Pregnacare to Sanatogen helped with my bloating/constipation. I think it was Faith who said too much iron can bung you up.

Glad the midwife visit was good Drizz, onwards and upwards from here Grin

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 23/11/2013 09:23

Well Winks, most of the time i've been constipated this morning I am having much sympathy for you. The opposite is just as bad... Sister felt the need to advice more fiber... Not helpful at all :(

Headaches sound awful! Hormones are weird, it's official!

FrankelInFoal · 23/11/2013 15:15

I've found This thread an interesting read.

OP posts:
MyNameIsWinkly · 23/11/2013 15:23

Yeah I liked that thread. The most consistent advice seems to be rest when you can, don't sweat the small stuff, get out of the house, and get netflix. Sorted.

I have this dream that if this baby comes along ok, it will be like the 3 weeks I spent with my DSis when she had her pfb. He slept and fed like a dream, we chilled on the sofa and went out for lunch with AngelBaby snoozing in the pram. It was genuinely blissful. Sadly I suspect I'll get one more like her younger son, who didn't feed well and believed sleep was for the weak.

FrankelInFoal · 23/11/2013 16:04

Nah, I reckon that our first babies will be perfect so we get lulled into a false sense of security and decide to have another one, who will be the very spawn of hell Wink Why else would people have more than 1?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 23/11/2013 18:55

Sadly Faithlet is in the latter of Wink's categories. Therefore Frank MSB is adamant we will not be having a DC2 :( I will work on him when I actually feel ready for DC2 I actually felt broody for a second yesterday. I saw the teeniest, weeniest baybee yesterday. She was 10 weeks premature but was recovering. Born around 3lb! Still not even due. Soooooo cute.

I would actually recommend the Tesco pregnancy vitamins. I'm still taking them (what with feeding Faithlet). Drizz annoying sister aside I've found that fybogel is good for bulking up and keeping things moving whichever way you're struggling.

Netflix is ruddy marvellous. We found I always ended up coming through from settling Faithlet at random times and we could just bung on Netflix whenever I arrived.

MyNameIsWinkly · 23/11/2013 19:53

I love netflix faify. it was you and I think jeffers who sold it to me, it's fab. How's faiflet's sleeping now? Is the training helping things?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 23/11/2013 20:02

Much, much better on the whole Winks. She's in a routine of sorts - loosely following the Baby Whisperer. She self-settles for naps and at bedtime (previously had to go out in car/stroller or boob her to sleep). I am managing to do the 30 day shred each day while she naps! Still varies through, today her bias were rubbish. Conked by 6.20 though!

evilgiraffe · 23/11/2013 20:09

I too love Netflix. I am watching so much Buffy and Torchwood Grin

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 23/11/2013 20:21

Buffy is my current obsession. Nearly at the end of season 2. Especially good now it's on virgin media.

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 23/11/2013 20:52

Just after I posted this I had to go in and feed her to settle her again. Must be a growth spurt, little fatty is now 17lb 1oz and has jumped to the 50th centile. Not bad for a baybee who started on the 0.4th centile!

MyNameIsWinkly · 23/11/2013 21:10

Goodness she's doing well! Clever girl :)

I've just got into work. I feel knackered, headachy and sick. Poo.

pinkr · 23/11/2013 21:39

Well I offer some sage advice for my fellow...if you are running late for an appointment and trying desperately to get out the house because baby decides they want a feed...please please check that you have done up your bra and pulled your top back down before leaving said house and waving at next door teenage son on his paper round. The shame.

Nokkie73 · 23/11/2013 22:35

Haha ! pinks is a flasher. Get your Norks out for the lads pinks. What did he do (before rushing home and having a bit of 'me' time) ? Grin

twonks I really hope you're feeling better after your scare. When is your scan again ? Please tell me that you're not pulling an all nighter at work ?

faif well done on the Faiflet growing. I had no idea she was so titchy when she was born.

jeff you sound like you need a bit of a hug right now. Did you manage to have your counselling session ? It's good that you're getting help if things aren't right. Xx

drizz well done on the midwife appointment. All this just got real eh ? Tis amazing Grin

franks isn't is strange how people either feel they have the right to comment on your bump or maul you when you are preggers. Ffs, it's like our bodies have become public property. I had the woman down at the Chinese restaurant maul me the other day when I made the mistake of saying that the nipper was moving (it likes hot and sour soup, clearly). Well meaning but.....Jesus, gerrOFF. How are you finding Lazy Daisy ? I absolutely love it still (this is my second stint of classes).

draff SOCKS ? Poor you.

kat hello !

Well, I have had one week of maternity leave. It rocks. We are painting the nursery next week (CASAF was supposed to have done this weeks ago, Ffs) and I have ordered the bedroom furniture and crib from John Lewis (yes, I am posh wot wot Hmm ). It's all getting real now. I have to say, I cannot wait to meet the nipper. Also made a decision re the push chair.

Drum roll please.

The uppababy vista. It's totally wicked. I almost want one for myself. Like a grown-up moving chair. It even has a drinks tray which I would use for wine and snacks.

FrankelInFoal · 23/11/2013 22:57

Wotcha Nokks Grin

Still loving the Lazy Daisy classes, onto number 4 this Monday. Not sure if I'll fit another session in before I give birth, but we are signed up for the couples workshop 4 weeks before I'm due!

pinkr · 24/11/2013 01:12

noks! ! I'm praying he didn't notice...my boob was resting in the cup so too speak so nipple should've been hid. i'm praying he didn't notice.
Getting close now noks are you madly excited? !

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 24/11/2013 09:01

I too have flashed the postman. Another rite of passage I think :)

Noks how lovely to see you. Can't believe you're on mat leave now! Nearly baybee time! Yes Faithlet weighed in at 5lb4oz and under 5lb5oz is officially 'low birth weight'. No idea why, she was a bit early (9 days) but that shouldn't have made that much difference. No other typical risk factors. She eats like a horse! Loves her food.

FriendofDorothy · 24/11/2013 09:10

I was out for lunch a few weeks ago and there was this family sitting behind us and they had a little baby which the woman was really discretely feeding under a shawl.

There was this woman sitting on a table next to us, protesting very loudly about how children shouldn't come out for lunch and breastfeeding in public was wrong.

So, I did the right thing and very indiscreetly got my massive boob out and fed The Little Mister who performed admirably by sucking loudly and smacking my boob.

Flashing my boob was the least I could do, oh, and then I gave her a bollocking as I walked out the door.

(I almost said 'I gave her a mouthful' but then it sounded like I let her have a suck!)

KatAndKit · 24/11/2013 09:28

Nice one dor good on you!

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 24/11/2013 11:05

Ha dor I read this...while feeding in public! Nice one. I thinks it's disgraceful behaviour to criticise.

MyNameIsWinkly · 24/11/2013 11:13

Brilliant dor love it :)

Some people are such idiots. If they don't want to see people feeding then look away. Its a damn sight easier to ignore than a baby screaming with hunger.

pink I did laugh at your flashing, sorry!

norks I was supposed to be on all night but I'm largely useless at the moment, so my boss let me go home when HWCA finished at 2am. Not too bad.
