See that sort of behaviour makes me want to be really naughty. I would have just whapped them out, dipped them in red wine, smeared pork scratchings all over them and plonked them on the table. And just sat there looking at her until she said sorry. Take THAT you ignorant old bag.

Disclaimer: this suggests that my Norks are huge. They are not. They are a c-cup. But can be very naughty and are perky enough to withstand being dipped in alcohol and smeared in retro pub snacks.

LazyMachine · 24/11/2013 13:01

Good on you, Dor!

Re. prams, the Vista is the Porsche of baby movers. We love ours - best on the market whether you're in the city or on a country lane. Huge basket (largest of all!), easy fold, easy to switch seat from forward facing to parent facing and vice-versa while baby sleeps, brilliant sunshade (no faffing about with wonky umbrellas), smooth drive & one-hand pushing, great seat height (can be pulled right up to a table when you're out and can't be bothered to switch kidlet into a highchair.) And it looks good. Wink First rate ride, you'll all be pleased!

I'm also one who thinks The Fear is much more of a burden for long term tccers & Those With TCC Ishoos. Esp. those with a history of MC(s) - totally ruins the lovely preggo bubble as you're constantly scared it will all go tits up. (Hence freakish behaviour like continuing to POAS in the late stages of the 3rd trimester...yes, that was me!) The other thing that isn't really discussed or realised until after the fact, is that you then have all of the normal transition emotions/fears/depressions/frustrations as any new mum but on top of all that it's super easy to FEEL GUILTY because you were one of the lucky ones who got a baybee and so you should be HAPPY.

But it's hard. And it's okay to have times of feeling fed up, frustrated, depressed, lonely or whatever you may feel once your baybee is actually here. It doesn't diminish the amount of love you feel for them, it just means that you're really normal (& astonishingly more like those other differs who naively sailed through their pregnancies on a pink fluffy cloud, with no fear that the pregnancy might not result in an actual baybee!)

Babies are hard work!!! And yes, we're lucky.

ATM I'm dealing with the reality that there is no more 'old me'...it is me + being a mother. Huge changes. Not bad changes, just different. And there's a bit of mourning for what was although it's generally eclipsed by the gorgeousness of NotSoLazyBoy.

Have I mentioned that he now says 'Mama' and will toddle over to give me big wet open mouthed kisses and cuddles? Squeeeeeeeee!!!

MyNameIsWinkly · 24/11/2013 16:49

Good post lazy, well put. And awww, LazyBoy sounds like a cutie :) I get mooshy enough when my nephews and friends babies come for cuddles, must be wonderful when it's your own.

HWCA has made our first baby related purchase Hmm I'm not sure we'll even need a collapsible baby bath, but he has this idea that we'll use it like a baby paddling pool in the summer. He's a softie really.

FriendofDorothy · 24/11/2013 18:07

I can definitely relate to The Fear.

I am already worried that if I do manage to get pregnant again that I am not going to enjoy it because I had bleeding in the last pregnancy.

We have only been trying properly a few months and I am already feeling disappointed each month that it hasn't happened. There are at least 5 people on my MN ante-natal thread who are diffed. It seems so bloody easy for them!

MyNameIsWinkly · 24/11/2013 18:18

Just relax and it'll happen dor

In all seriousness, hats off to you for getting back on the merry go round. I genuinely don't know whether I'll have the emotional strength to do it again, whether this does or doesn't work out. Did you say you'd get clomid after 6 months?

KatAndKit · 24/11/2013 18:31

dor how much are you still breastfeeding? Have you used sticks to see if you are actually ovulating each month? Some women find that bf does effect their fertility for longer than others, especially if they are still doing night feeds. Everyone is different on that one though. Definitely worth tracking your ovulation though. Do you have a shag dictator? If my 12 week scan is good news i will have one up for grabs.

FriendofDorothy · 24/11/2013 20:06

We are still feeding, morning, after work and evening usually and then at least once in the night.

I have a Shag Dictator which I have been using for three months.

It has definitely shown that I have laid an egg but I am pretty sure that my luteal phase is short. Since monitoring this time I didn't get a peak reading the first month then it was 7 days, then 9 days and now I am waiting to see if it has lengthened this month.

KatAndKit · 24/11/2013 21:25

Hmm yes that is a very short luteal phase. Hopefully now you have started sleep training you will be able to night wean soon enough. That might help the hormones.

KatAndKit · 25/11/2013 09:04

Good luck tonight winks i will be thinking of you and lurking for good news.

MyNameIsWinkly · 25/11/2013 09:08

Cheers kat, I'll let you know asap :) I'm only a little bit terrified...

SinkyMalinks · 25/11/2013 10:06

Howdy folks. Yesterday the lady in mamas and papas commented on how big I was.

Sigh.

You'd think she'd know better, right?

Think we've chosen the bugaboo chameleon, so progress is being made...

All well?

Winks, what's tonight?

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 25/11/2013 11:01

Good luck winks. Rooting for a wriggle monster! Any more bleeding?

MyNameIsWinkly · 25/11/2013 11:17

sinks when I start to show I am going to sit on people that comment on my size and squash them. Fuckers. I bet you look great.

Am having a scan at 7.30 this evening. faif no more bleeding, thanks for the support!

How is everyone on this cold Monday morning? I had a crap night's sleep, got up early to sit in the doctors waiting room (average age of everyone else - 85) to have a blood sample taken, then promptly fell asleep on the sofa for half an hour when I got home. HWCA and I will be trying our local pub's special Thanksgiving menu for lunch. Good times.

FrankelInFoal · 25/11/2013 11:18

Yes good luck for scanage tonight Winks.

Sinks my midwife warned me that everyone will have an opinion on my bump. So long as she is happy, I'm happy. Plus you can go all rage-y at the really annoying people and blame it on the hormones Wink

Nokkie73 · 25/11/2013 12:00

Oh twonks good luck my love. I too am rooting for a wriggle monster for you.

Oh god, everyone has an opinion on your bump. I just smile but inwardly am going 'oh DO fuck off you silly twats'. As long as your baby is ok, that is all that matters.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 25/11/2013 13:11

Good luck for tonight winks! Keeping stuff crossed, it about 9,5 weeks isn't it?

I am skiving off from work for the 12 week scan as we speak. Still petrified, even though I had a reassurance scan 10days ago... It's in 2hours, but a long commute and a decent safety net against failing trains.

Grrr at bump commenters! My mum and sister have decide I am showing, according to me and SB it's just that I look a little fat...

Nokkie73 · 25/11/2013 13:22

Good luck too driz. The 12 week scan was my favourite as you can see loads. Remember to eat beforehand or yours will misbehave, like the nipper did. It just laid there and refused to do anything until it's mother gave it loads of sugar. Yep, the apple didn't fall to far from the tree there Grin

LazyMachine · 25/11/2013 13:50

Fish slaps/hand holds for today's scans - very exciting 'round these parts!

FrankelInFoal · 25/11/2013 14:37

Oh good luck for you too Drizz. I love the fact that so much advice with pregnancy is eat something sugary Grin

OP posts:
FaithTheVampireSlayer · 25/11/2013 15:26

Ah I liked both scans although my first 12 week scan was rubbish because Faithlet was sitting on her bum! Had to go back the following week. 20 week was awesome because there was so much detail. The weirdest one was 36 weeks to see if she was breech, she was so big we only saw sections!

Nod and smile at bump comments. Nod and smile.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 25/11/2013 15:39

Lembie is still there :) Now much bigger, 95% for length, 5% for nuchal fold, so that sounds good! With a heart and a stomach and a bladder in addition to the limbs we saw last time! He was trying to suck his thumb! Sooo relieved and grateful!

FrankelInFoal · 25/11/2013 15:39

Boo! Just been told my antenatal class tonight is cancelled as the teacher is ill. I was really looking forward to it Sad
