Happy Frankel day Frank! Grin

pinkr · 15/11/2013 08:09

I told work at four Weeks! ! To be fair I thought it was six Weeks at the time because of long cycles. Our manager isn't exactly discrete and told a few people before I came out! We were having a bit off a department crisis with everyone who could be pregnant bring so...five girls out of a department of eleven and all due roughly same tine!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 15/11/2013 08:20

Right lovely PESH, taking your advice, I am telling one of my jobs today since I've been writing a pointless proposal for a meeting in June for weeks now. I'll leave the other job til after 12-weeks, as my line manager is away most of next week (which will make the SB ordered skiving off at 4:30pm easier).

It is odd, I am so delighted and thankful that things are going well, but the exhaustion is throwing me emotional curve balls. I am weeping where I should be smiling. I really do hope this is the worst week internet told me that hormone levels are highest now and I can actually do some work and maybe be a bit social again sometime soon

FrankelInFoal · 15/11/2013 08:26

Good plan Drizz. Don't feel bad, the hormones are all over the place at the moment and your body is getting used to them. Honestly, once you get that first trimester out of the way things do get better. Also don't feel bad about complaining, we all do it but it doesn't mean we are ungrateful or bad BESH - it is totally normal!

Thanks for the Frankel Day wishes, I'll probably put some photos in t'other place Grin

Honestly drizz, I found being pregnant incredibly tough. I was very sick, shattered, moods all over the place and later I had an irritable uterus so I felt like my fanjo was getting electric shocks (Faithlet was head down from about 30 weeks). It's like a dirty secret. We all feel like we should enjoy every minute of pregnancy because we waited so long for our baybees and mustn't complain but for some women it's really rough being pregnant! I'm certainly in no rush to get diffed again. MSB will need to be convinced that Faithlet#2 is a good idea because he's dead against it at the moment! I think your work plan is sensible. I used up all my time owing leaving early in my first trimester.

MyNameIsWinkly · 15/11/2013 17:49

How are you today driz? Did you manage to get away at a decent time?

FrankelInFoal · 15/11/2013 18:37

Pictures of my boy are up on Facebook now Grin

Failed on the getting away on time, but ate something during my commute which meant no weeping yet
The people I told were amazingly lovely and pleased for us :)

Will go check him out, Frank!

MyNameIsWinkly · 16/11/2013 09:41

Morning all, how is everyone? Any plans for the weekend? I have lunch with a friend today, which is a pain because my trains aren't running, and my booking in appointment tomorrow. Busy!

FrankelInFoal · 16/11/2013 10:05

Have a nice lunch Winks and hope you're ready for the zillions of booking in questions!

HWHNN flew to Malaysia last night so I have a solo weekend. I'm heading off shortly to go clothes shopping - I've been living in 2 pairs of trousers and about 4 tops for the last few months so really need to get some more stuff! I seem to be all bump at the moment, as evidenced in my Facebook picture!

I've also got lots of college work to crack on with - I've spent the last few weeks procrastinating about it so really should do something!

evilgiraffe · 16/11/2013 10:38

Morning :) We are having a lazy morning with Saturday Kitchen and croissants, all very civilised. We are having people over for tea tonight, so at some point we will crack on with the housework and cooking...

FrankelInFoal · 16/11/2013 14:51

Back from shopping! Er managed to spend almost £200 in JMB Blush, though to be fair one item was a wool winter coat which I really needed.

I meant to say earlier, HWHNN texted me from the airport last night and said "Just wanted to let you know how much I'm looking forward to being a parent with you. You're going to be an amazing mum." That + pregnancy hormones = sobbing snotty mess!

OP posts:
KatAndKit · 16/11/2013 16:48

Sniffle sniffle that is really sweet!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 16/11/2013 18:18

Pregnancy hormones are powerful and the text really sweet

I went shopping and bought a woolly dress as my favorite was moth-eaten! One size up due to enormo boobs, but with spare belly room as a result. All of this was knackering enough to leave me on the sofa for the rest of today. My mum brought some flowers to celebrate the good scan, she has been amazing thru it all :)

Have nice dinners and good Sundays!

FriendofDorothy · 16/11/2013 21:35

I am having a horrible day today. I think the realisation that Mum isn't here any more is only just starting to kick in.

I miss her so much and have spent quite a bit of the day crying.

i feel bloody knackered now :(

FrankelInFoal · 16/11/2013 21:42

Oh Dor, I'm sorry. I really don't know what to say. I think it's pretty normal to feel this way, when my BF lost her mum to cancer she had a lot of up and down days. Is today significant for any reason?

OP posts:
FriendofDorothy · 16/11/2013 21:45

Not especially significant. I am just really, really missing her.

I am tired, hormonal and sad. It's a terrible combination!

FrankelInFoal · 16/11/2013 21:52

All I can do then is offer you a big (((hug)))

OP posts:
FaithTheVampireSlayer · 16/11/2013 23:42

Oh dor :( IME it comes in waves with random things triggering it off. I miss my mum whenever I make a wife's sauce (she taught me how) or clean (she was compulsively clean). No advice really, just comfort. You know where I am if you want to offload.

Will have a look frank. Thanks! Have you looked at prams yet?

FrankelInFoal · 17/11/2013 12:02

I think we're pretty set on the Uppababy Vista. It gets lots of good reviews, including a Which Best Buy award, and we've been to look at it several times in our local John Lewis and have been impressed with it.

It's very maneuverable and not heavy, unlike the Bugaboo's which I thought weighed a ton! It's also easy to fold up, change seats, etc. We've made an appointment to meet with the "Nursery Advisor" at JL in a few weeks time to thoroughly go over prams, car seats, etc. it's quite a good system as they will bring your chosen pushchair out to your car and let you play around with dismantling it and making sure it fits in your boot, etc before you buy it.

OP posts:
MyNameIsWinkly · 17/11/2013 12:18

I know it's ridiculous at this stage but I've already decided on the uppababy vista. I know it's expensive but it gets great reviews, and folds up very small which is great as our Fiesta has a microscopic boot. What colour do you think you'll get frank? I like the jade.

HWCA has a pulled muscle and man flu. He is, apparently, the illest person ever. Kill me now.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 17/11/2013 13:08

Grin at the illest man in the world, wink! I am wishing you strength!

Maternity wear and prams are scary and expensive, I am slightly in shock SB and I don't own a car and live in a one-bedroomed flat. Totally unqualified, I fear :)

pinkr · 17/11/2013 13:55

We've got the vista! I think we've discussed this before but mr df has a fiesta and I've got a polo. I have to take the back wheels off but the literally just come off at the push of a button. Love the pram...its good for the rural roads, the carrycot is lovely and its nice and high, I felt the baby would be too low in the bugaboo etc.
On price we looked in a pram shop, tried it in car etc and then ordered online. Kiddisave....pram, carrycot, maxi cosi car seat etc came to 600...I got 10% off for liking the company on Facebook and got a further 8% cash back on quidco which brought it down to around 480 I think. If really recommend....they offered free delivery I think and it came within the week.
