Went for a wee, found some red blood. Literally just a couple of drops. Had been feeling crampy and sore so naturally I completely over reacted and have made a complete tit out of myself sobbing at work. This is on the same day where I had to come in 4 hours late after the beginnings of a migraine. Amazingly professional, I am. Also, really scared Sad

BarbiesBeaver · 19/11/2013 12:46
FrankelInFoal · 19/11/2013 13:08

Oh winks it is scary when you see blood. Remind me how far along you are again? What colour is the blood, is it brown, pale pink, bright red?

Keep an eye on it. If it goes away/doesn't get any heavier then all should be fine. Can you call your local EPU (early pregnancy unit) at the hospital and ask if you can have a reassurance scan?

OP posts:
SinkyMalinks · 19/11/2013 13:11

Ditto all that frank said.

Let us know how you get on.

MyNameIsWinkly · 19/11/2013 13:47

Bright red, frank, but only a little of it. I'm 8+2 by scan date, or 8+6 by lmp, so it's probably just a tiny breakthrough bleed as period would be due about now. Haven't seen any more yet.

The people I work with are so good. I am actually embarrassed. I was found blubbering, and I got put in a quiet room and given tea and hugs. Then a supervisor drove me home in my car, followed by someone in a work car to get him back. Luckily I only live about 15 minutes away. I am extremely lucky.

MyNameIsWinkly · 19/11/2013 13:48

Oh and I rang the midwives, who said to keep an eye on it and go to the EPU if the bleeding got worse.

FrankelInFoal · 19/11/2013 13:49

OP posts:
FrankelInFoal · 19/11/2013 13:55

Honest to god! One more try!

Glad work are looking after you. You definitely did the right thing calling the midwife (I couldn't remember if you'd had your booking in appointment yet). My experience was a reasonable (though probably not actually that much) amount of blood which progressively got less until 2 days later there was no more. A breakthrough bleed sounds very likely.

Just keep telling yourself, you've seen the heartbeat, which is a massive deal. I'm sure that stats say once a heartbeat is present the chance of a loss goes down with every day that passes.

Are you due another scan at 12w?

OP posts:
MyNameIsWinkly · 19/11/2013 13:59

I had my booking in on Sunday. Last time round I had my booking in on Sunday and found I lost it on Tuesday. So I was unimpressed by my body's performance today.

Next scan is on the 18th December. Feels so far away!

Glad you managed the post third time round :) Thanks for being there hags.

FrankelInFoal · 19/11/2013 14:13

We're always here, even when we should be working Wink.

In light of what happened last time if I were you I'd be tempted to go to the EPU anyway just for reassurance, I'm sure they'd understand.

FriendofDorothy · 19/11/2013 14:30

I had lots of bleeding at about 8 weeks too. Very, very scary and obviously worked out ok, but I remember how terrified I was.

Hang in there. The chances are it will be fine.

KatAndKit · 19/11/2013 15:01

I had more bleeding in my last pregnancy which was successful, than i did with either of the missed miscarriages. You have seen the heartbeat so even with a little bleeding, the odds are very much in your favour. However you will go insane waiting another four weeks to find out so try to get a reassurance scan at the EPU. Hope you don't have to wait too long and hope there is no more bleeding.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 19/11/2013 16:08

Sorry Winks, that sounds so stressful! I concur with the eise hags to try and get a reassurance scan. The 18th is too long to wait. But also having seen the heart beat you're statistically doing well!

evilgiraffe · 19/11/2013 17:07

Oh how scary, winks. Glad work are being so good to you, and ditto all the sensible advice above. Massive hugs.

MyNameIsWinkly · 19/11/2013 17:29

Thanks everyone. I actually cannot face the EPU unless it's strictly necessary so I may just pay for another private scan next week. I've had no more bleeding and have had nutella on the nice loaf HWCA did in the breadmaker, so am feeling a lot better. Just feel like this is teaching me not to get ahead of myself and look at prams etc!

FrankelInFoal · 19/11/2013 17:59

Winks the combination of "The Fear" and the excitement means we are all on a massive rollercoaster. I remember being utterly convinced that my bleed meant I had lost this pregnancy.

The key is to take it easy now and just monitor things. Oh and eat lots of Nutella, obviously Grin. That reminds me, I have some Cadbury's Philadelphia in the fridge - that's dinner sorted Wink

Oh, and to give you all a larf, I got an email from HWHNN in Malaysia this afternoon - he confessed that he was very tired so had gone to bed early and watched Twilight Breaking Dawn (both parts!) in bed. Am I married to a 14 yo girl?! Wink

How's your evening been Winks?

OP posts:
JethroTull · 19/11/2013 22:25

Oh Winks how frightening. Hope you have had a relaxing evening.

I've also got an ESH passed on hypnobirthing book if anyone would like it.

FrankelInFoal · 20/11/2013 08:00

I've bagged Barbie's book/cd but I'm sure someone will take up your kind offer Jeff. They can be BESH Heirlooms Grin

How is miniJeff doing? And how are you feeling now?

Hope you had a restful night Winks.

MyNameIsWinkly · 20/11/2013 09:09

Morning all. I had a horrible nights sleep, and feel like crap this morning. On the plus side there's been no more bleeding overnight, so hopefully that was it.

Hope everyone else is feeling ok.

FrankelInFoal · 20/11/2013 12:22

Glad to hear the bleeding has stopped Winks, hopefully it was a minor blip.

Love it Grin

I am absolutely starving today. I'm eating healthy high protein food (and a bag of salt and vinegar crisps, admittedly) and drinking lots of water but I could eat my own arm. I've had to ask a colleague to bring a chicken shish to the miserable isolated hole where I'm currently working. If she doesn't hurry up I will eat my computer :)
