Will this do? I bet someone's beat me to it now!

Congrats Mum! We've still got no ideas. I think we might just call it oops or 5 at this rate

mumof2aimingfor4 · 07/11/2013 18:48

Xander Matthew Antony surname
Alba Marisa surname

Xavielli · 07/11/2013 18:49

Lovely!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 07/11/2013 18:49

Haha xav look for names that mean surprise or blessing?!

dobedobedo · 07/11/2013 18:52

I love those names mum!

At the minute we like Seth for a boy and Ray for a girl. It might change though!

LittleBairn · 07/11/2013 18:54

xav my gran gave up on naming my dad baby No.7 so my auntie got to name him after her school crush. Grin its an awful name too.

My DH refuses to discuss names it gets him really stressed. By this point last pregnacy I threatened to just choose one myself if he didnt contribute I might have to use the same tactic again.

Xavielli · 07/11/2013 18:57

3&4 have Irish names so would like to keep to the theme, or maybe Scottish as DP is.

I like Rowan for either sex but it's been vetoed already.

LongTailedTit · 07/11/2013 18:57

Lovely names all round! We haven't a clue, got reeeeally long lists and haven't whittled them down at all yet...

I know a woman called Rae dobe it's a lovely name!
Rhymes with our surname so not on our list tho, boooo.
Actually our surname is really annoying! It has a silent letter at the beginning, and has a v similar real-word meaning that rules out all flower names for girls unless we want to make them sound like a burlesque act... Hmm

LittleBairn · 07/11/2013 18:58

Names we both liked last time were Roan and Gaius DH refuses to like any other girls name other than Scarlet while I like it just on sheer stubbornness I won't let him have it due to refusing to discuss other names.

Last time I knew my baby would be Noah, it was such a strong instinct lucky DH accepted it. But I don't have the gut feeling is time.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 07/11/2013 18:59

Thank you dobe I really like seth but its a character in twiligh and we already have a bella!
The boys name is so long because of tradition OH wants matthew (his and his dads middle name) and I want antony because its my dads name.

LittleBairn · 07/11/2013 19:00

xav there are loads of Gaelic names that are both Irish and Scottish.....2 birds one stone.

LongTailedTit · 07/11/2013 19:00

Ooh Xav - how about Quinn?? Similar to 'quint', meaning 5, Irish-y, and fairly unisex?

mumof2aimingfor4 · 07/11/2013 19:01

Ooh long thats a clever name choice, I like!

Xavielli · 07/11/2013 19:05

Ds2 is Finn so Quinn is out :(

randdom · 07/11/2013 19:05

We haven't really discussed names yet. One thing we agreed upon years ago was that if we ever had a daughter we would name her after my mum just because I really miss her and I wish she could have been around for this. But boys and middle names I have no idea.

Made the mistake if watching one born: what happened next and now can't stop crying!

Xavielli · 07/11/2013 19:06

Dd2 (Aoife) would have been Cailean if she was a boy. I like it but I don't like the idea of reusing name choices

dobedobedo · 07/11/2013 19:07

Is it a main character in twilight? I've never seen the films or read the books so don't have a clue!

thistlelicker · 07/11/2013 19:09

My dh is English and I'm Scottish but dh has picked up both names, and names are Scottish

moominleigh94 · 07/11/2013 19:10

OH hates Noah which is a shame because I like it for any potential future DS2. Also love Finlay (which thankfully he also likes) and Rowan. Dylan Rhys is about as Welsh as boys names are going to get for us Grin

We really liked Saffron Harley and it was a frontrunner for us until we thought of Celyn as a middle name, which has significance to us :) So I think any future girl could be a Harley - other names include Sienna, Imogen and Kaylee (we're both Firefly geeks Grin )

I love names Grin but I've got a really strong feeling that we're having a Saffron Grin suppose all will be revealed soon!

Choppa · 07/11/2013 19:13

Loving all of the names everyone. We have Max for a boy but we have a 1 syllable surname...do you think it's ok? Struggling with a middle name but it needs 2 or 3 syllables . Christopher sounds good in the middle but that my sons middle name.

Not sure for girls. I like Fern but hubby not keen. I think we.'ll wait to see if we are blue or pink before fighting over discussing it.

Told my team at work today and they we all very kind...had a couple of hugs...

Hamncheese completely agree with you on the dates front as I don't want a forced induction too early if it comes to it. I agree that it could be a couple of days earlier but not 5! I'll mention to the mw when I see her at 16w.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 07/11/2013 19:14

moomin ive got a Kayleigh :)

dobe its not a main character but is one of the werewolves. He's a good one!

LongTailedTit · 07/11/2013 19:21

Now would be a good time to canvass opinion... While we have loooong lists for both boy and girl, the only boys name I really like is Peter, which is DSs middle name, after my much-missed grandad.
We didn't use it for DSs first name due to not being sure it worked with our surname, but have got over that now, plus all the first sons of my generation have used it for the middle name.

Sooo - would it be really really weird for DC2 to have it for a first name, even tho DS has it for his middle name?

The dilemma almost makes me hope we're having a girl, then it'd be a moot point! Grin

Xavielli · 07/11/2013 19:26

I don't thinks its a problem LTT

mumof2aimingfor4 · 07/11/2013 19:28

I don't think its a problem either especially as it holds so much meaning for you.

thistlelicker · 07/11/2013 19:54

My friend had a baby a couple of weeks ago. I asked her what she wanted as a gift, she said a voucher for mother care, so I've got her one, but it's for 10 pound. Is that enough or am I being mean???
