Then i wud be on a Fred about a Fred n b banned ha

Vikks · 07/11/2013 09:39

Squiffie It's a place in Barnsley, a friend recommended it. £50 didn't seem too bad, I've seen others which are a lot more. They do the 4D scans too which we'll have as well, I think that's after 28 weeks.
Booked it this morning! 7th Dec. I know I'm going shopping straight afterwards! x

I thought I felt something last night.....Grin

bluestone85 · 07/11/2013 09:42

Vikks Yes, little bean was very very active and didn't stop the whole time we were in there, kicking, waving, turning over, doing headstands you name it, it was doing it! Haha. Haven't seen it asleep yet Grin

Xavielli · 07/11/2013 09:46

Bairn if you tell the sonographer you don't want to know the sex they will generally avoid the area or tell you not to look. The highest chance of seeing something you don't want to is 20 weeks. Everything is a big mushed together on later scans

Hezbean · 07/11/2013 11:13

Just had my 12 week scan! Everything looks fine thankfully. Little one was wriggling about loads and had hiccups at one point. So relieved... Had to go back in 3 times with full bladder, empty bladder etc as baby wouldn't get in the right position for the nuchal fold measurement, but it was good in a way as we got 3 really good looks at the baby.

She thought I was 12 + 5 which is 3 days further ahead than I thought.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 07/11/2013 11:23

Glad all is well hez

bluestone85 · 07/11/2013 11:23

Congratulations Hezbean :D x

Squiffie · 07/11/2013 11:27

Congrats Hez

What's the name of that place please vikks? Just in case, lol x

LittleBairn · 07/11/2013 11:53

xav thanks will tell DH he needs to close his eyes. I'll be secretly trying to work out the sex. Grin With 4 more scans to go my chances are good.

For later scans do you need a full bladder? No one mentioned anything about the 16 week one.

snoozysleeper · 07/11/2013 12:09

Congrats hez Smile

Xavielli · 07/11/2013 12:13

Congrats Hez

AliOh · 07/11/2013 12:15

Congrats on the scan Hezbean think we had a new maybie too last night so hello and welcome :)

So desperate to start feeling baby move now, 14 weeks tomorrow so wont be too long I hope!

Gave in to DP last night and agreed to find out the sex, might still ask them to write it down so we can find out in our own time though.

Also, random question but does anyone have any experience in keeping chickens? We accidentally acquired one last night, she is lovely and really friendly and we are seriously considering keeping her as a pet!

Hezbean · 07/11/2013 12:18

Thanks everyone!! Very excited now.

Now to tell work....

LongTailedTit · 07/11/2013 13:10

AliOh had chickens when I was a kid, remember most of it, what condition is the hen in? Bright red wattle and comb is a sign of good health.
My sis has cute little fluffy Pekin ones that looked fine but had a terrible red mite infestation, needed weeks of dusting with mite powder to get them sorted.

Make sure she has access to fresh water all day, somewhere enclosed to perch at night, good food, and a scratching area - hens need to dust bath and feed in gritty/bare ground so they can take in grit for their digestion and shell production.

The Omlet site is great for new starters, and there's a ton of good advice online. Easy to pick up a cheap chicken-care book for a few quid on Amazon too.

Seriously, WTF is this madness tho??!

:)

Vikks · 07/11/2013 13:11

Squiffie It's called Babyview.co.uk Are you going to book a scan?

Hezbean Congratulations on your scan x

hamncheese · 07/11/2013 14:00

choppa make them change it back to your original date if you know it couldn't have been conceived on the date the scan gave you. Lmp dates are just as accurate as scans. It will avoid them pressuring you into an unwanted induction and the increasing likelihood of interventions that follow inductions should it come to it.

Lovely scans and scan news all :)

dobe we seem to be following each other, two nights ago I made dinner and the last night one too and it was fine and last night I was up at EIGHT PM!!

bairn i was told no full bladder for 20 week not sure about 16 though...

Well I just told my phd supervisor I am pregnant, for the second time through the course of my phd. I was really really worried about it and haven't been sleeping from the stress. But it was ok, he guessed due to how fat I am ha and didn't bat an eyelid. He also was in agreement when I told him I thought we both knew I wasn't going into academia after my phd which has totally taken the pressure off to be mrs history and he is happy with the lastest chapter and my plan for the last year. Hooray!

bushprincess · 07/11/2013 14:30

Brilliant news ham so pleased he was understanding, but don't right things off yet, I've been talking about re-entry fellowships with my advisor which are specifically to allow women to re-enter academia post dc's. We're in science but sure they'd be something similar fir history should you feel the need to go back later. Good luck whatever you decide and well done getting your chapter finished, how many more to go?... talking of which.... i really must get my corrections done and thesis bound.... time to get rid of it for good!
Great scan news today! Hoe everyone has a good eve!

hamncheese · 07/11/2013 15:02

I think I'm not really wanting it any more bush I'm fed up feeling the constant pressure of research needing done! I just want to have a decent job so I don't need to bring work home IYSWIM. I've been studying for eight years now and that's straight from school... Think its time to move on!

NannyPlumForPM · 07/11/2013 16:39

Had my nuchal blood results back- 1 in 70,000- is that good? I mean obviously better than 1 in 2 etc but Sure I saw someone with 1 in 1,500,000!! What is average?

McBaby · 07/11/2013 16:48

Sounds like a good uncalled mine was 1 in 3200 which j was v pleased with ESP as age risk was 1 in 500!

NannyPlumForPM · 07/11/2013 16:51

Just had a quick google and it seems 1:70,000 is quite good so put my mind at rest a bit!

LittleBairn · 07/11/2013 16:55

ham thanks will go with a half full bladder then see how that works.
Glad the pressure is off hopefully you sleep better.

nanny that's great odds.

moominleigh94 · 07/11/2013 18:21

Apparently my Mum's already started putting together a Christmas stocking for the baby Blush

Five weeks today until we (hopefully!) find out if we're having a Dylan or a Saffron Grin I'm so excited!
