Will this do? I bet someone's beat me to it now!

My standard baby gift is a h&m 3piece set (hat, vest and trousers - latest one had a raccoon on it ) @ £7.99 plus card. So £10 seems fine to me.

dobedobedo · 07/11/2013 20:28

long I don't see it as a problem. It's not quite the same but we've decided to give this baby the same middle name as ds (they'll have different surnames as I had ds with exdp). If ds didn't have a unisex middle name, we'd have used his first name for this baby's middle name, as it is also unisex.
God that sounds confusing. Basically, I don't think it's weird!

bushprincess · 07/11/2013 21:11

Lovely name suggestions all round, I'm with you choppa though, we're not having that discussion untilwe know the flavour!,

ham know just where you're coming from, I'm definitely in 2 minds about sticking with research, but am trying to keep an open mind for now.

Night all, I'm off for a scan first thing, just reassurance really as didn't like the guy in harare as he was just to rushed and i want someone to show me that they are checking everything properly.... will check in after. Sleep well!

moominleigh94 · 07/11/2013 21:49

My blog post about being pregnant by accident but a mum by choice is one of the Mumsnet bloggers network top reads Grin

LongTailedTit · 07/11/2013 23:01

Thanks guys! Names are a bloomin' MINEFIELD I tell ya.
Who knows what the poor thing'll be named in the end, DS very narrowly missed having a v daft name as we dithered between our 3 top choices, settling for the simplest when he was 5do. Soooo glad for that now, think he dodged a crap-name-bullet there!

Whoop whoop Moomin! :)

AliOh · 07/11/2013 23:08

Well done moomin :)

We have completely changed our mind on names so still undecided, definitely decided on one boys name now though but we want to choose a couple for each gender :)

DP have spent most of the afternoon/evening converting our shed into a hen house! We have 3 now, so chuffed, I've always wanted chickens :D

Chip86 · 07/11/2013 23:16

LTT that made me laugh so much hi-vis for chickens what will they think of next,

We have got names sorted but just found out a friend is preg with a girl due in March what do i do if they pick my name ahhhh stress stress panick ahhhh Grin

TheAlyssWithTheMewlingQuim · 07/11/2013 23:21

DP and I like the names Serenity and Meredith for girls, but we haven't quite decided on boy names yet.

Chip86 · 07/11/2013 23:42

You all have such lovely name picked, i loving hearing other people name choices

Squiffie · 08/11/2013 00:48

We're pretty much agreed on William Thomas for a boy (named after Dh's grandad and my grandad). It's possibly going to be Victoria for a girl but I need suitable middle name suggestions! We already have Alexander James and Elizabeth Kate! X

rebeccax2 · 08/11/2013 01:36

Hello from Beautiful Bali.

Glad all the scans are going well and people starting to feel better. It's amazing to think we'll all have little babies in 6 months.

Not looking forward to being back in the cold. Lots of love to all. x

mumof2aimingfor4 · 08/11/2013 07:08

squiffie I like Victoria Rose its a very english soindong name though.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 08/11/2013 07:09

Haha soindong?! *sounding

mumof2aimingfor4 · 08/11/2013 07:10

Hey Rebecca hows Bali? Hope your being careful in the heat yound lady ;)

hamncheese · 08/11/2013 07:26

Lovely names all. I think we will end up waiting til we find out for real choosing.

Anyone looking for (seemingly, as its actually Greek in origin) names my DS is called Alexander, but he is called Sandy. My wee sandy.

Anyone found they've been getting more soppy. I feel really tearful about DS a lot at the moment. I keep having thoughts he will be hurt or dreams where he dies horrifically and now I don't want him going away from me at all. I hope its normal not some stress thing :(

hamncheese · 08/11/2013 07:26

Scottish names* not just names!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 08/11/2013 07:34

ham we've chosen Xander for a boy, I like alexander but I dont like alex if that makes sense. Hence going for Xander so hopefully no one can shorten it. Sandy is such a cute nickname :)
Although saying that we chose bella for dd2 and her nursery teacher calls her Bells Angry
Ive been having god awful dreams/nightmares too, your not alone. I think were scared of loss at the moment for pbvious reasons.

LittleBairn · 08/11/2013 08:44

ham in my first pregancy I used to have nightmares every night about them dying mostly due to rediclous things I would do like walk in front of a lorry. Hmm I think it was the guilt because I would be leaving earlier than planned.
DH suggested its our brains way of making sure we take extra good care of kids because we are tired, sick etc our usual decision making abilities are lower but feeling paranoid and guilty ensures we keep a closer eye on them.

LittleBairn · 08/11/2013 08:46

I'm 15 weeks today this week is a big mile stone for me I feel a mixture of hope and sadness. This is the time it all went wrong the last time.

moominleigh94 · 08/11/2013 08:51

That's one up-side I've discovered to this - none of my friends are going to have a baby before me and give it the name I want for mine Grin

I love Xander/Alexander, thinking of it as a middle name for future boys :) I think Noah Alexander sounds lovely but OH.... nooooo Hmm

LittleBairn · 08/11/2013 08:56

Then being the 3 kids I was a nanny too.

LittleBairn · 08/11/2013 09:00

moomin Noah Alexander is a great name IMO.
My view is seeing as I will be a SAHM and likely be HE I will have many years at home being the primary carer for my children so its more important for me to like the name ill be using it most. If anyone needs to compromise its going to be DH.
I've seen to many threads over the years on here with mothers upset, months after the birth, with the name of their DC because their DH got the upper hand soon after the birth.

Xavielli · 08/11/2013 09:20

I love Xander too, shame I've already got an X-man :)

Xavielli · 08/11/2013 09:21

I like Orla, but I think it sounds a bit too similar to Aoife. And I like Eilidh but again, too similar to Nellie

Squiffie · 08/11/2013 09:32

I love Xander but other people insist on shortening ds' name to Alex! Doesn't usually last long though when I melt them with my evil glare of 'how dare you shorten my child's name without express permission applied for in writing 6 months in advance and most likely to be denied'

Big hugs littlebairn x
