I'm sorry you're having to wait all weekend Squiffie, that's rotten, is it a scan on Monday?

Impossible I know, but try not to focus on all the bad reasons for having a bleed, lots of women have scarily dramatic bleeds for no reason and go on to have full term healthy babies.
I shan't share the reasons my friends have had bleeds as I tend to put things bluntly and I worry about upsetting others, but they all had it put down to 'one of those things' and their babies were unaffected.

My fingers are very firmly crossed for you XX.

snoozysleeper · 15/11/2013 23:52

Ah squiffie fingers crossed here also! Just try to take things easy this weekend, nothing too strenuous and best of luck for Monday Flowers

snoozysleeper · 15/11/2013 23:59

Hi sarah still very drained , am 12+5 , hope that lifts soon though.

randdom · 16/11/2013 07:02

Squiffy I hope all is ok xx

Xavielli · 16/11/2013 07:19

Hope all is well Squiffie

mumof2aimingfor4 · 16/11/2013 08:17

squiffie thinking of you. Maybe go to a different a&e, tell them you weren't happy with the care you received.

CokeFan · 16/11/2013 08:19

Squiffie - stay positive if you can. I had a bleed at 12 weeks (lots of bright red blood, really frightening) which turned out to be a haematoma at the base of the placenta - nowhere near the baby. I'm still intermittently getting some brown spotting now and I got to hear the baby's heartbeat yesterday at 14 + 3.

Obviously if you have lots of pain, get yourself back to A&E.

impatientlywaiting · 16/11/2013 08:38

Ah Squiffe I really feel for you. It is the worst time late on Friday to have anything like this as the weekend seems so long when you are waiting to check everything is ok?

How are you now?

Try and stay positive. I genuinely feel like I've heard so many more stories of women who've bled at your stage and been absolutely fine than those where it's been a sign of bad news.

Everything crossed for you, and hope Monday comes around as fast as it possibly can. It still amazes me that EPAU's entirely close for the weekend. Why can't a group of a few hospitals get together and put a clinic on over the weekend so that people don't have to wait over the weekend to find out what's going on? Seems so cruel.

Squiffie · 16/11/2013 08:47

Hi ladies, thanks for all the support. I'm still bleeding a little but it's slowed considerably from last night. I've not had any pain with it, other than a dull ache in my lower back, which is why they're not overly concerned. I don't know what's going to happen in EPAU in terms of whether they will do a scan as I have my scan booked for Wednesday anyway so got a feeling they're going to get me to wait. I'll let you all know how things go! X

moobaloo · 16/11/2013 08:53

Hope everything's ok squiffie good luck for monday and for scan!

Our big reveal to our parents went well! They were shocked/happy and so surprised! DP filmed it so we have a record of their faces Grin

Scan pic is now on profile, please let me know if it has worked and people can see it! It's only a photo of the picture, so not the best quality, but there is a visible tiny person in it Grin

Hope everyone who's suffering is feeling much better soon!

Squiffie · 16/11/2013 09:09

Congrats moo glad the scan and big reveal went well! The scan pic looks lovely! Smile

With ds (my first) I found out a week before I got married and when I told my parents my mum's first words were 'well you could've waited a week'. I wouldn't have minded so much except she'd been going on about bloody grand kids since I was about 20 and I was 28 when I got married! She still doesn't know I'm pregnant with number 3.

impatientlywaiting · 16/11/2013 10:02

Gender scan at 12:30pm. Ahhhhhh I'm going to find out if it's a boy or girl!

bluestone85 · 16/11/2013 10:06

Morning all.

squiffie so sorry to hear about the bleeding! I hate that you have to wait until Monday. Try not to worry too much (I know how hard it is to not worry). One of my friends bled most of the way through her pregnancy and has a gorgeous healthy boy :)

Moo congratulations on the big reveal going well. lovely picture too :)

My husband woke up this morning and the first thing he said to me was "I wonder what our babies first word will be" Hehe so cute that he was thinking about it. He also strokes my tummy even though it's just fat at the moment Grin

12+1

dobedobedo · 16/11/2013 10:09

Aww glad it went well moo!
impatiently you're so lucky!

moominleigh94 · 16/11/2013 10:21

Ahhh impatiently how exciting! Technically I could get a gender scan now I think, I'm 16+5, but I think I'm going to wait until the 20 week scan. If they can't tell from that, I'll book a babybond one :)

bushprincess · 16/11/2013 11:21

oooh! exciting impatiently let us know!! (if you want to of course) This is our first to know the flavour yes?! gosh moving so quick now!

bushprincess · 16/11/2013 11:22

great news on the big revel moo! lovely pic!

snoozysleeper · 16/11/2013 13:33

Good news moob can see your scan photo too [smile

impatiently do let us know how you get on

And squiffie glad to hear the bleeding is settling this morning. I hope it turns out to be ok for you!!

impatientlywaiting · 16/11/2013 13:40

So I get to the ultrasound place and they say my appointment is for next week!!

We were totally gutted, but they were lovely and they managed to squeeze us in.

He's a boy, saw that loud and clear. We are so happy, makes it so much more real for me. Can't wait to meet him.

I think I'm the second to know as someone, can't remember their name now, found out they were having a boy at 12 weeks with the harmony test.

Aaaaaaahhhh I'm so happy.

dobedobedo · 16/11/2013 13:41

Such a first world problem, but ds is in a show in the local theatre on Friday. We just found out. It's also the same date we were supposed to see a comedian we love. We've had the tickets for ages and have been looking forward to this all year.
I'd feel like a crap mum if I missed ds's performance, but when am I going to get the chance to see comedian again, what with being pregnant and all?
Argh! (sorry I know there are people dying in the world and this isn't a proper problem but sometimes being a parent sucks!)

dobedobedo · 16/11/2013 13:42

Oh impatiently that's wonderful! Congratulations!! Grin Grin Grin Grin

moominleigh94 · 16/11/2013 14:04

Congrats impatiently that's wonderful Grin

dobe How old is ds? I've been with a local theatre group since I was thirteen and I think even when I was thirteen, I'd have understood about my parents having tickets - I would've been a bit disappointed, I think, but quite often not having parents there can take the pressure off.

Of course if he's much younger, it all depends on his personality and how he's feeling about the show. Is it only on the Friday? I think as long as he can still go to the performance, you should go and see the comedian - there will be more shows in the future, I'm guessing, if he's enjoying himself? Whereas, as you say, you won't get a chance to see the comedian again.
