Scan pic is on profile, I think....im not great with technology!

MrsFooCough · 15/11/2013 13:21

WELL HULLO EVERYONE
I am a counts on fingers 2nd time poster, having posted on a skincare thing about 2 weeks ago but 12 WEEK SCAN COMING UP ON SUNDAY so I thought it'd be ok to post to a due date thread Grin due 29th May, but that may be modified by the scan on Sunday...
These fill up crazy quickly though don't they?!
So yes, I'm constantly tired, I pee ALL THE FREAKIN TIME, the smell of our lovely little doggy makes me gag Sad as does eau-de-DH when he's due for a shower haha. Plus I always crave curry/mexican food.
Have told 3 of my closest friends (we were a pretty close-knit gang at secondary school SO COOL ) but the other two live too far away to get to face-to-face Sad
Should I just tell them via FB message? Confused I never have done phone calls, they know this so it shouldn't be a problem. But might they be peeved they didn't get a big in-person announcement? I need to tell them because as soon as we get the scan all-clear (fingers crossed it's all ok) MIL is telling her enormous clan of siblings and all their children, who are FB addicts and I know will immediately start trying to contact us, not-so-subtly probably. Don't want bessie mates feeling left-out Blush

ANYWAY rant/ramble over.
Lovely to beeeee heeeeeere - everyone have some CAKE Cake

dobedobedo · 15/11/2013 13:27

Great news on your scan mumof2 and the pic is great!

Welcome mrsfoo - good luck for your scan this weekend! Bet you can't wait to see your baby!

MrsFooCough · 15/11/2013 13:30

FANKS DOOB Grin we are nibbling our nails with anticipation! I am outraged they make you pay for a picture Shock may sneak a snap on my iPhone haha

Xavielli · 15/11/2013 13:40

I didn't have to pay for my pic this time, I think the sonographer heard it was my 5th and took pity, haha!

MrsFoo - it get them into the same chat on fb and tell them together.

MrsFooCough · 15/11/2013 13:49

Ooh Xavielli that's a GOOD idea! I'm going to do that now...scurries off to FB

LongTailedTit · 15/11/2013 13:52

LittleBairn what a shitty situation, I think your ultimatum was very fair in the circs.
I hope you get time for a moment to sit and remember your DS today Thanks.

Welcome MrsFoo and HoneyMum! :)

I just had the daftest call from the hospital, along the lines of
"Hello, this is the midwife calling from the hospital, PLEASE DON'T WORRY, I'm not calling about anything wrong with your blood tests, don't worry, I don't have any bad news" and on and on and on, before she got to the point about some boxes that hadn't been filled in properly on the blood test forms!
Poor woman, she must've had some bad reactions to her phone calls before, she sounded so relieved when I was totally unfazed and just gave her the right info.

Off to hospital again on Monday to see a consultant about I've-No-Idea-What. I've asked on the phone and noone seems to be able to tell me what the appointment is for, so we've assumed it's due to having GBStrep last time, which if i have it again will mean home birth is out of the equation, and I'll be under consultant care on Labour Ward for the birth. Meh.
If its something else I'll be a bit put out! Not keen on surprises...

Have to get an hour of buses to get to the Hosp with DS in tow which I'm not thrilled about either.
I get DH's car sometime in the New Year, as I won't be able to get lifts anymore with two DC in carseats, and DH gets a comfier commuting car.
I can't wait, I haven't had my own wheels for over 10 years! Grin

Thinking of you littlebairn Flowers

Congrats mumof2 Cake

Welcome honeymum and mrsfoo !!

CokeFan · 15/11/2013 14:29

Welcome honeymum and mrsFoo.

I'm 14 + 3 today and had another midwife appointment this morning - got to hear the baby's heartbeat! Unfortunately had some more bleeding too, but this time it's brown and there's not nearly as much of it so I'm not too worried. Apparently if it gets a lot worse or painful then there's an emergency gynae clinic that I can go to.

I'm O+ blood type. I already knew that because I'm a blood donor (when not pregnant). They were one of the first people to find out about my pregnancy because I'd just got another invitation to give blood when I did my pregnancy test. I'm back on the suspend list until next November.

I don't know when my 20 week scan is yet - I'm 20 weeks on Christmas Eve and they don't send the letters out until 16 or 17 weeks.

MrsMajor · 15/11/2013 14:34

Hello, i am new to this and wanted to join the maybies club! I am due 15th May and live in SE london - though having come through the first trimester unscathed with no morning sickness and just being tired i do forget sometimes i am pregnant! not sure if anyone else feels like this!? I think i need a bump for me to know it is real!

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/11/2013 14:42

Thank you ladies, the Sonographer let us hear babies heart beat too whilst he was checking baby over. He's scanned all three of my babies and is absolutely lovely Grin

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/11/2013 14:44

Welcome MrsMajor put your feet up and settle in with us maybies. Third baby for me so got a big belly already, although that could be the carbs I ate to mask the nausea.

LongTailedTit · 15/11/2013 14:44

Welcome MrsMajor!
I don't feel particularly pregnant at times now the MS has mainly gone, but this being my second, it's not such an alien concept. First time around I felt completely paranoid that I wasn't really pregnant after all! I only relaxed once I had a proper bump and regular kicks.

The main weird thing is the lack of midwife input this time - I still haven't heard TinyTit's heartbeat, but hopefully will on Tuesday at my 16wk midwife appt.

I'm B-, so quite rare but not anywhere near as useful as O- which my DM and DSis are. I had a long break from donation after DS was born and only managed to fit one donation in before being pregnant again. This time I'll make sure I start donating again as soon as my six months postpartum are up!

dobedobedo · 15/11/2013 14:50

I'm common as much O+ so no blood issues here. Apart from the fact I have a massive blood phobia and all these pregnancy blood tests are traumatic as hell!
It's weird, I never used to have this phobia and I don't feel "afraid", but when ds got blood tests when he was a toddler I saw his blood in little vials and fainted. Ever since then when I see blood, I faint. So now I try and avoid it at all costs. The blood donor people told me not to come back when I fainted before they even got near me with a needle!

Thank god it's Friday. Does anyone have any nice weekend plans? I'm either 15 or 16 weeks today - lost count! x

thistlelicker · 15/11/2013 15:10

My baby waved to me today and poked its tongue out!!! Amazing

moobaloo · 15/11/2013 18:08

Ooh was just reading a bit from above (should not be reading mumsnet, should be going out!) re bloods. I read a little about blood groups etc. earlier but don't really understand it all?

I am O Negative, which is know is fairly rare (I give blood) will this affect anything???

xx

moominleigh94 · 15/11/2013 19:12

moo have you had your blood test results back? Mine came back with a leaflet attached about being RhD negative (I'm O Neg too), people who are rhesus negative need an injection at around 28 weeks. Mine was automatically booked for me, I got the date through with my bloods too.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 15/11/2013 19:52

Congratulations moo let us know how your big reveal goes Smile

snoozysleeper · 15/11/2013 20:31

Congrats moo Flowers

SarahJinx · 15/11/2013 21:29

Evening all, lovely to hear all the update and scan news, roll on 20 weeks now eh?

Is anyone else feeling utterly drained and rubbish still? I'm coming up for 16 weeks, nausea is JUST easing, but still don't have much of an appetite, got a face full of hurty spots, a whacking great stye, a horribly sore throat and am exhausted, naughty bean II is draining me good I think. It is safe to say I am yet to hit my bloom anyway!!

In my second 'is anyone else...?' Question, is anyone else having the joy of clexane injections? I hit three risk markers, age, higher bmi and inflammatory condition (Rheumatoid Arthritis) so have a box of needles and a sharps container. It's not too bad but I have one black bruise for being a little too energetic, and I don't think I'm going to want to do it when I have a bump....

So I've just spent the last couple of hours in A&E following a pretty substantial bleed. Nothing they could do, they've booked me an appointment in EPAU on Monday morning so it's just a case of waiting now. Sad
