Will this do? I bet someone's beat me to it now!

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

It's pretty irrelevant how you sleep until much later than we are. It's to do with baby squashing the main vein that runs down your right side and can deprive the brain of oxygen.
Somehow I manage to sleep on my front all the way through.

hobbjobb · 14/11/2013 15:56

Xav is it ok to sleep on my front then? That's my natural sleeping position but I'm scared of squishing baby! I hate sleeping any other way and generally wake up on my front anyway

We went public today to everyone and on Facebook, I'm feeling very loved Grin

I'm not showing yet either bush but then I am pretty fat! I prob won't show til very late! My belly is sticking out further than my boobs but I think that's chocolate biscuits and wind!

bushprincess · 14/11/2013 16:06

hobb haha of yes, the wind..... let's just not mention that shall we!?!

hobbjobb · 14/11/2013 16:15

Ooooooh xav I just did a cursory search on MN for a name I've stumbled upon and it looks like you have one as your posts came up a lot - Eliana, is that right?

Such a beautiful name - I promise I'm not stalking you!

DP even seems to like it but I have a new favourite pretty much every day so we shall see...

Jenologist · 14/11/2013 16:47

hobb don't mention the wind, especially at pregnancy yoga Blush.
Very jealous of those who are showing. I have a bit of a belly but pretty sure it's mostly croissants. Trying to calm myself down as just been for NT measurement and nothing was said as to whether it was good or bad. I didn't ask, didn't want to freak myself out if they wouldn't tell me. I know they need the blood sample too, but was really hoping to hear a positive comment!!

SharpLily · 14/11/2013 16:56

I'm starting to show but having trouble with it - on the one hand I'm really keen to start seeing it as I'm really pleased to be pregnant, on the other hand I feel uncomfortable with it because I'm not used to this shape. It's not huge but there's a very defined little lump where usually there isn't one, and if I try to sleep on my stomach it feels as if there's an orange under my stomach - like the princess and the pea but in reverse!

I'm not skinny but have always had a fairly flat stomach and my midwife has been complaining about my abdominal muscles - she says they're ridiculous and like a steel plate. She can't get a decent scan through them so I have to have the stick up my fanjo, but can I take it that this means I'm likely to get a flat stomach back more easily after the birth?

dobedobedo · 14/11/2013 17:00

*Jen" they wouldn't give me any indication in the scan either and I did ask. But I looked at the bloods form and they'd written the nuchal measurement on it! It was a very low measurement. So it doesn't mean bad news! Some just have a policy not to say anything.

sharp sounds like you'll be one of those lucky cows people who are back in skinny jeans a week after giving birth! Jealous.

SharpLily · 14/11/2013 17:02

Ha - it's a while since I looked good in skinny jeans! And the muscles aren't because I'm fit, I'm just this strange freak of nature, but if it means less effort in about six months' time, I can live with regular vaginal probing!

Jenologist · 14/11/2013 17:08

dobe I did have a nosy at the measurement on the blood test form and resisted the temptation to Google for about 30 seconds. Managed to post here first, but according to the Internet it's within normal range. Phew.
Sharp that is very unfair! Exercise like a maniac and stomach muscles are non existent. Have heard it makes all kinds of things easier, so enjoy.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 14/11/2013 17:25

Oh sharp so jealous of your abs! I remember when I used to have those! I was 19, lol.

mumof2aimingfor4 · 14/11/2013 17:37

I've decided to get a new tattoo when this baby is born, it'll say;
A mothers love for her children is like nothing else in the world. It knows no law, no pity, it dares all things and crushes down remorselessly all that stands in its path.

bluestone85 · 14/11/2013 18:07

is it weird that I'm having curry tonight and I really want cheese on top of the chicken and madras sauce? x

Xavielli · 14/11/2013 18:09

jen in your preg folder (mine is blue but they vary from place to place) there should be a divider labeled ultrasound, in which you'll find a summary of the info they found at your scan, the NT measurement should be there too

Xavielli · 14/11/2013 18:49

Blue- my local spud van does jacket spud with chicken curry... Everyone makes vom noises when I ask for cheese on it but the chap says a lot of people do

Xavielli · 14/11/2013 18:52

Yes hobb I have a wonderful little Eliana! We call her Nellie most of the time, didn't plan to but it evolved. It's a lovely name, gets lots of compliments and is a good, strong name. :)

hobbjobb · 14/11/2013 19:03

Beautiful name Xav it's on my list!

sharplilly I've had to have a stick up the fandom for each scan too and I'd love to say its due to my abs of steel but alas it is due to my flabby belly Grin

hobbjobb · 14/11/2013 19:03

Fan job not fandom, haaaaa

hobbjobb · 14/11/2013 19:04

Argh, fucking FANJO

impatientlywaiting · 14/11/2013 19:36

Eliana us a gorgeous name. So unusual too.

dobedobedo · 14/11/2013 19:38

Lol @ hobb

thistlelicker · 14/11/2013 21:01

My skin has become horrible and dry and spotty

Irisheyessmiling · 14/11/2013 21:11

Jealous of the abs of steel! Very round over here but quite enjoying it. And the books...have always been a couple of bee stings sort of girl so these new D cups are a great novelty!

Work still being wankers, completely dragging their heels over getting this done, really can't wait to leave. Love being a teacher just not at this school! But nativity rehearsals start soon, so much better with the addition of Makaton! And yes Mr Tumble is my hero!

randdom · 14/11/2013 21:21

Am having a low day today. I am 12 weeks today and still vomiting nearly every day. I feel nauseated whenever I am not eating and I am shattered. I also can't shake the feeling that something is wrong. I just want to have my scan rather than having to wait another week and a half before I can find out whether things are ok.

Sorry for the moaning :(

I am just feeling a bit miserable

impatientlywaiting · 14/11/2013 21:27

Ah Ranndom sorry you are having such an awful day.

My anxiety over everything being ok was at its highest a week before my scan. I managed to get a scan at my local charity, as I was having actual nightmares I was miscarrying every night.

Could you afford a private scan, know it seems extravagant but it's worth it in my opinion if it puts your mind at rest.

Or do you know anyone with a doppler you could borrow? I heard the heartbeat at about 11 1/2 weeks. Things like that might make you feel better?

In the meantime hope you can manage to take your mind off it and get a good nights sleep, sometimes you see things in an entirely different way the next day. Xx

bluestone85 · 14/11/2013 21:33

xav I didn't go with cheese on it in the end. I'm just loving anything cheesy at the moment. Big One is pasta and cheese. nom.

Lol hobb, too funny!

randdom I think you should look at going private just to put your mind at ease. xx
