Hi all, hope everyone's well. I am very sorry to hear from those who have lost their babies -- as a RCM sufferer I do empathise deeply. Be kind to yourselves, take the time you need to heal and if you're trying again I really hope to hear some happier news soon.
I have been rather quiet lately because my own baby has been a bit problematic. Early scan revealed a possibility of two babies sharing a yolk and amniotic sac. Week later, a follow up scan wasn't much more helpful. Ultimately, there is definitely one baby in there, heart beating away happily, growing steadily. But! There is still something else too -- same size as baby 1, heartbeat possibly visualised in some views, but with an 'atypical' appearance.
Despite the sonographer having the whole department come and take a look, nobody could be sure of what is going on. My retroverted uterus doesn't help matters apparently.
So, another 10 day wait for me. Possibilities are it is a failing twin pregnancy, a successful twin pregnancy, or something else altogether (eek!). Quite seriously nobody knows, so I am just having to get on with it in the meantime. Oh, and I have been diagnosed with hyperemesis. Help!
If ANYONE has experienced anything similar I would be most interested to hear your stories! Feel a bit of a freakshow at the local hospital right now!
