frying put a pad in your knickers, if the pad gets wet smell it, if it is colourless/light green or brown tinged and without much odour it could be your waters. Urine has a stronger smell. Equally it could be discharge and the remains of any semen.

If it is your waters or you suspect it to be please phone your maternity triage service at the hospital for advice. How many weeks are you?

fryingpantoface · 14/11/2013 21:42

I'll do that. It'll probably just be semen. God, how embarrassing. The midwives will laugh if i call I'm sure.

I'm 31 weeks. The baby is kicking and wriggling. I already know hes head down

AnotherStitchInTime · 14/11/2013 21:52

No need to be embarrassed, tis natural. Hope the fanjo/bottom hurting goes away soon. Lie down for a bit on your side with a pillow between your knees to take the pressure off your cervix, it might help.

fryingpantoface · 14/11/2013 21:57

Will do. I'll keep you posted.

sarahleanne · 14/11/2013 22:22

frying I had exactly the same thing at the weekend after me and dh DTD Saturday morning. I actually said to him 'shit I think my waters may have gone' as I leaked a lot after and soaked my underwear. But the leaking stopped after an hour or so and im guessing it was just semen. Its not like it has anywhere else to go now lol Blush.
sorry for the tmi ladies, just thought i'd let you know I had exactly the same experience and I found it weird as I don't normally leak atall.

extracrunchy · 15/11/2013 08:12

I'm very impressed any of us are DTD. I am so not... Poor DH!

Frizz1986 · 15/11/2013 08:13

Me and dh dtd the deed last night and i got the giggles as we haven't tried recently and bump is so huge. I think i pulled a muscle in my belly as we were attempting to manoeuvre and i was laughing. I had a lot more dampness this morning though so I am sure all is fine.

Damn it though as the baby monitor we wanted has gone up £12! What monitors have other people gone for? We liked the look of the angelcare one (i wouldnt use the sensor mat though) but at £60 we just cant afford it so were looking at the Tomy tf525 as it has a temperature on it, but its just gone up from £28 to £40 and we really need to cut back on spending now.

extracrunchy · 15/11/2013 08:19

Oh you've just reminded me we need a monitor too! Would recommend DS's (BT two-way with stars that project on ceiling and temp monitor) - since he's in a separate room for a bit we need 2... Second one prob without stars!

extracrunchy · 15/11/2013 08:29

(Also have a look in eBay if spending has got a bit extreme! Second hand monitor wouldn't be much different to new.)

TobyLerone · 15/11/2013 09:00

'Duvet time' (that still makes me laugh!) is still happening in our house, but I do have to put up with serious Braxton Hicks and some ligament/muscle aching in the sides of my bump afterwards.

We got the BT Digital 250 monitor. We bought it in John Lewis and I think it was about £55 but I'm not sure if it might have been cheaper anywhere else. DH was in charge of the monitor because he is a big geek and he likes to research. Loser :o

MrsVDB · 15/11/2013 09:35

We haven't dtd since bfp so all your dhs are very lucky!!

fryingpantoface · 15/11/2013 09:36

well, seepage (ick) stopped.

We got a monitor from ebay with DS, the angelcare one with a sensor mat. It was £13 when we bought it 2 years ago. We've lent it to my SIL and will be getting it back for the baby.

The cot came yesterday. We've not put it up, the baby's room needs sorting out as it's where everything goes to die in our house! We had a lovely night, we ate nice food and watched Elementry and then went to sleep having already duvet danced

ha ha

Naturegirl82 · 15/11/2013 10:57

another glad bubs is ok, but sorry you're having complications. hope it is simple enough to sort.

I hope everyone's scans went well yesterday.

Frizz I managed to get a lightweight black dressing gown from sports direct yesterday for £10 if that's any help.

Had the first part of gtt and 31 week mw appointment so just waiting for second part. Taking the opportunity to get some housework done so I don't have to do it at the weekend.

Sultanajo · 15/11/2013 11:04

Wow ladies! Where are u finding the energy to get down with your men? I am impressed! We havent DTD since bfp from my own paranoia after mmc at the beginning of the year, but we have done other stuff if u know what I mean....Wink Nothing however for the last month and a bit - work stress and heartburn has put paid to that! But I am not worried as we are still really touchy feely, lots of hugs and kisses. I am not sure DH would want to DTD with bump so big now anyway (plus I would probably squash him now! Grin) However, now I am off work I may suggest he joins me in the shower....Wink And if bubs decides he is gonna make us wait I may end up jumping on DH.....! Grin

Monitors - we got the BT one with lullaby and light show, as my mate has one and when I saw her using it I really liked it, especially as you can turn the lullaby and light show off remotely from downstairs...

Health visitor was nice and just explained what they would do and when and also the clinics they run. She was very laid back and when I asked her a couple of questions she explained things and then said "ultimately things will fall into place and its just common sense. Dont worry too much" so hopefully they will all be the same.....

fryingpantoface · 15/11/2013 11:19

I'm on my way home from work.

my head is pounding and vision in my left eye has gone funny. I have a dr appointment at 6 15 tonight and I'm going to rest until then. It's all drama at the moment

MrsVDB · 15/11/2013 11:37

frying could it be high blood pressure? Are your hands/ feet swollen too?

lovelilies · 15/11/2013 11:40

Oh no, frying hope you're ok...
maybe its a delayed post coital headache?!?Grin
Seriously tho, good to get checked, if it gets worse call midwife/ go to a&e

extracrunchy · 15/11/2013 11:50

Oh dear Frying hope you feel better. Have you ever had migraines before? Could be that. Some people get bad ones in pregnancy. Have a good rest and hope doc helps!

fryingpantoface · 15/11/2013 12:07

Didn't think of high blood pressure.

just had a sandwich and then going to try napping. Work have asked me to get the Dr to write that it's pregnancy related, why I've gone home.

i don't want to be forced to start mat leave now. They can do that if you're off for preg related reasons within 4 weeks of mat leave starting. It's 4 weeks today.

extracrunchy · 15/11/2013 12:11

Work can't ask you to do that unless you want to!

MrsVDB · 15/11/2013 12:13

frying that's the same policy at ours but just say its not pregnancy related. Anything could cause a headache

fryingpantoface · 15/11/2013 12:30

Dh just pointed out that he doubts theyll tell me to finish early. It's one case of going home and I'm going to the Dr.

we'll see what happens.

TarkaTheOtter · 15/11/2013 12:36

frying are you in the uk? I thought it was only once you were 36 weeks that they could make you start mat leave?

Frizz1986 · 15/11/2013 12:38

OMG dh has just got a supply job until Jan. I am SOOOOOO HAPPY!!!!

MrsVDB · 15/11/2013 12:41

Woop frizz congrats :)
