Well I had a complete baby brain moment earlier. Dh called from work at 17.40 to ask what time the class was tonight. I had completely forgotten I had booked us onto a yoga birthing partner class tonight from 6! Oops! made it in time luckily and dh found it useful.

sultanajo it is the Kathryn Graves (sp?!) hypnobirthing book. I'm booked on to a hypnobirthing class and think that's the one they follow.

enormous glad you have your iron tablets. Hope they act quickly.

quackojuliet · 15/11/2013 20:58

Ditto the heartburn hate, sultana. I usually love cooking spicy food, drinking oj,eating fruit...but like in the first trimester I've had to totally change my eating habits. Just bland beige crap and it gets me down! Can't wait to drink red wine, lots of acidic cheese washed down with a spicy curry mmmmmm...

extracrunchy · 15/11/2013 21:10

Ooh by the way did everyone see the NHS now say Stilton is ok?? I'm having it with digestives and posh chutney and grapes for dinner. Yup.

Angelesque · 15/11/2013 21:24

nature I have my first hypnobirthing class tomorrow... Hoping it works!!

Naturegirl82 · 15/11/2013 21:43

Ooo angel you'll have to let me know how you get on. how many classes do you have? I think mine is more of a one day session so I've got the Maggie Howell Cds to practice with at home and been combining that with pregnancy yoga. Who knows if it will work but giving it my best shot!

MrsGSR · 15/11/2013 22:12

enormouse glad to hear you're complaining, it should have been sorted for you a long time ago!

Going to Birmingham tomorrow to the Christmas markets, so excited! I'm like a big kid at Christmas :)

MrsGSR · 15/11/2013 22:58

I think DH has developed sympathy tiredness, he's fast asleep and snoring flat out on the living room floor! We have a giant corner sofa but apparently the floor is more comfortable...

sarahleanne · 15/11/2013 23:00

and as per usual I have forgotten frigging everything that I've just read Blush

frizz That is brilliant news, genuinely so pleased for you!!

Whoever posted that link about sick pay and maternity pay etc THANKYOU. Unfortunately my brain is made of mush and I can't remember who it was.
I have been signed off work today by the doctor as my back is so crippled I cannot walk without holding on to stuff. The school run has become an absolute nightmare and hoovering is impossible . I'm so gutted as I only had 2 weeks left until I went on leave anyway ( I have 6 weeks annual leave to take) so now I have no idea what will happen to my pay or anything. Luckily my boss was super nice about it though.

Sultanajo · 16/11/2013 07:56

Oh sarah that is really gutting when you only had two weeks to get thru. However, you cant help what your body decides to do and its great your boss was so nice. Makes a real difference!

mrsg your DH napping on the floor cracked me up! My DHs snoring when he comes to bed has suddenly got really bad! Its not all night, but he always manages to wake me up when he comes to bed, so I then have to get up to pee and by the time I am back in bed he is snoring like a train. Cue me lying wide awake considering sleeping on the sofa and then finally falling asleep when his snoring stops an hour later....

Sultanajo · 16/11/2013 07:57

angel and nature will be interested to hear about your hypnobirthing.....I didnt think I would be interested in it, but all of a sudden I am starting to think it wouldnt be a bad idea.....Hmm

Sultanajo · 16/11/2013 08:01

quack somehow I managed a pint of oj and lemonade yesterday. I am looking forward to be able to lie down flat again.....not long now.....ekkkk! Grin

extra wish I liked stilton. Glad you enjoyed it! Now if you had said brie and goats cheese was now ok, I would be having it for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Grin

Sultanajo · 16/11/2013 08:03

Off to kiddicare today to hopefully get as many of the bits off my list as possible....Grin

TobyLerone · 16/11/2013 08:07

Morning, sultana :)

I've eaten goats' cheese all the way through, when I've fancied it. But I am clearly a rebel :o

Apparently I'm anaemic, which comes as no surprise to me. So I'm off to Sainsbury's soon to fill my iron prescription. Then back home for a lovely day of rearranging all the (massive, heavy, oak) furniture in my room. And making a minion cake. Joy!

Enjoy the seventh circle of hell Kiddicare!

Angelesque · 16/11/2013 08:30

sultana will let you know how it goes!

Oh how I miss goat's cheese... It's just the completely creamily tangily delicious- chèvre type that's ruthlessly banned- suggested we avoid, right? I wondered if it was cooked would it be okay? Like on a toasted ciabatta or something... Little splash of balsamic... Hungry now!

GummiBear74 · 16/11/2013 08:43

Mmmm, cheese! angel, it's perfectly ok to eat the lovely, creamy etc chèvre type cheese if it's cooked through. I did some on a pizza with ham and spinach.

Sorry to hear about your back pain, sarah, but sounds like being signed off is the best thing. Hope you have someone to help with the school run and the hoovering.

Well done to mrfrizz, that must be a load off your minds.

Er, can't remember anything else. Blush Hope the iron supplements start working soon for those who've got them.

lovelilies · 16/11/2013 09:00

frizz I've been struggling with my back too, reflexology and massage have helped, plus I managed to persuade dp to get a cleaner, 2 hours a week for £10, and she totally blitzes the houseGrin
Best money ever spent!! could you try that?

fryingpantoface · 16/11/2013 09:15

Morning all!

Good luck in Kiddicare, I love it there.

I'm "taking it easy" today while looking after a 2 year old. He's had toast, ceweal, is now eating a yoghurt. I think today is an eating day for him. Joys.

I'm going to sort out upstairs today. I want to sort out the baby's room and fold/clean clothes. As long as I take my time doing it then I can't see why DH will get mad.

I really want a cleaner, so a little jealous

Naturegirl82 · 16/11/2013 10:33

Wowzers, just had a quote for some curtains for our living room nearly £600!!!! I'm hoping I can find a fabric I like for cheaper than that!

MrsVDB · 16/11/2013 11:14

nature not sure where your based but in croydon (near kiddicare) there is a fabric shop that does all fabric for £3 a m. I got ours from there and also some toile fabric off eBay and blackout lining from eBay and I was going to sew myself but mil is doing as house is still a building site so enough to do

enormouse · 16/11/2013 12:10

I've eaten cheese this pg. Been a little more blase about things second time round. I've heard that as long as it's pasteurized and cooked through its ok. So I've had quite a few brie and bacon paninis. I won't have blue cheese yet though just to be safe and am allergic to goats.

MrsGSR I love the bham christmas market, I'm actually a native brummie. I'll be going to the Belfast one soon but it's not as good as brums. May go with MIL and DS next weekend whilst DP has his friends over to stay.

toby iron pills are completely magic. I've only been on mine for a few days but already feel better. I've started sorting out the house prior to Christmas.

frying I would join him in the eat-a-thon.

quackojuliet · 16/11/2013 12:33

I lovvvve the german xmas market in brum! My uncle lives there and we usually go up, but I'm not going this year as can't face long train journey and all the crowds. Its always fun though can get a bit repetitive with the stalls...there are about 4 types repeated throughout. But hey!
Think the anti-b's are making a diff to my uti as feeling less desperately urgent to go and then I can wee properly when I do..rather than a dribble then feeling I need to go again immediately. Not too happy about taking antibiotics but felt I had to in this case.
Lovely sunny day! Dh is off to a driving lesson so I'm going to try and sort some baby stuff then want to twist his arm to go for a walk with a pub lunch after. He hates walking for the sake of it (!) But the pub is the sweetener.
Anyone else finding walking and generally moving much comfier than staying sat at the moment? I seize up after more than 10 mins in one position.

Toothfairy78 · 16/11/2013 12:55

Had a huff.
Sat outside for 45 min waiting for my breast feeding class. Turns out it was the wrong place. There are 3 All Saints Churches in Windsor. Class leader did not specify which one (also neglected to include the C of E part) or give precise address, so it was pot luck if you showed up at right one or not. The first google result was the wrong one.

Drove home and Managed to get her on the phone during the break and she recommended I drive all the way back again for the second half! Have asked to be booked onto another class.

After the week I had I wasn't interested in being screwed about. On the plus side it meant I got to see my brother and his wife for a bit longer today. DH placated me with chocolate and tea.

I'm going to go into town to mooch about.

toby be careful moving that furniture!
sarah sorry to hear about your back. Take it easy!

OP posts:
fryingpantoface · 16/11/2013 13:11

walking is much better for me, even though I get so tired! When I'm sitting down the baby's bum is in my ribs. Not comfy

AnotherStitchInTime · 16/11/2013 13:14

Sarah sorry to hear your back is that bad, have your kids got any friends whose parents could help with the school run on the odd day to give you a break?

extra thanks for the Stilton tip, all this cheese talk has given me cravings, will pop to Sainsbury's later and stock up. Coeur de Lion do a pasteurised soft cheese called Pie d'angloys which I have eaten in pregnancy before, yum.

How annoying tooth, I think a discount should have been on offer for the inconvenience caused.

Enjoy the market MrsG

Glad to hear anti-B's are working quack

Had pancakes cooked by DH for breakfast, a lovely bath and now relaxing on MN. I am going to be thoroughly bored by the end of this pregnancy, DH bless him won't let me do anything, I am itching to do cleaning, but any time I get up I am told to sit down.

I wil have to live vicariously through you all by reading your tales of Kiddicare purchases, furniture moving and adventures in hypnobirthing.

quackojuliet · 16/11/2013 13:59

enjoy it another! my dh has treated me as usual during pregnancy. occasion ally brings me a cup of tea but generally just as before. wish i could be pampered a bit! (yes, i have asked, repeatedly!!)
