Madratlady · 28/10/2013 17:05

I'm going to Ikea tomorrow, any baby bargains I should know about?

Madratlady · 28/10/2013 17:06

Oh Stitch X post there, hope you're ok!

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/10/2013 17:14

Hello all - thank you for good wishes, DH doing well and I got a few hours sleep at last.
Phew.

another you poor thing, that's scary. Um, no jokes, sorry. Hope you're doing okay though.

MrsA, your boss and mine need to go in the incinerator together - they are both total wastes of space. GRRRRR.

nature hope appt went well.

Back to the hospital shortly - I'm sure I'm overreacting, but I really don't like not being there with him all the time.

Swannykazoo · 28/10/2013 17:17

Crumbs what a weekend. Hope stitch all is well and your placenta stops misbehaving. Sorry to hear about mrhumpty too. Hope all went as well as it could for nature

Another thread! - they're filling up faster and faster. Wonder how many more we'll need before we're all there.....Yikes best not think
remains completely disorganised and slightly in denial

Sultanajo · 28/10/2013 18:02

humpty good to hear things are going OK. I completely understand you not wanting to stay in there the whole time....

another poor you! As you say, still a shock despite being prepared. Naughty placenta causing stress! Really hope things settle down and you can get back to your poor 4 yo.

Jokes.....ummm....tonight I wont need to take any rennies because I wont have any heartburn.... ha ha! Grin

Frizz1986 · 28/10/2013 18:04

another complete suckiness!
Glad contractions havent started and that you are feeling ok and bubs is wriggling about nicely. You are at least in the best place possible and at least you were organised with an emergency plan. Sounds like you are sorted for it all. Good to be prepared in case.
Fx they discharge you tomorrow for some rest and relaxation at home.
Its typical that there is shocking weather and traffic when you really need the roads to be clearl hopefully dh will be able to settle the kids.
No jokes though, i suck at jokes.

humpty glad mr humpty is doing better now. Must be a relief.

Oooo ears on towels i am liking the sound of that!
I am totally gonna dress up bubs for all occasions. Am thinking of a lamb at easter!

I have to say puggle i sometimes think i am in a bit of denial about the whole pg thing. My friend who had hers in jan seemed so chilled all the way through her pg, didnt buy much until right near the end and was still decorating at about 32 weeks pg. I always thought that as soon as i found out things would be purchased, the nursery would be done but alas no. I think once you actually get pg you are so worried about jinxing it or getting everything too early that you leave it all and kind of forget about it lol.

Frizz1986 · 28/10/2013 18:05

Oh and sultana glad u had a good day at the spa

Percypiglet · 28/10/2013 18:05

Hope Mr Humpty gets better soon.

Stitch - hope you are okay and all settles down. You are in right place of course.

Puggle - think it was you - hope all is well now.

Nature - hope appmt went okay.

Love - had exact same dream about dh having affair. It would seem I might be starting to feel a bit insecure about myself and my changing body....

And yes, am also completely disorganised. All we have so far is 8 babygrows, lots of knitted cardigans and hats, two knitted blankets (courtesy of both grandmothers) and 1 hooded towel... Randomly also bought some cotton wool, metanium for nappy rash and my sister bought me nipple cream! I think we need to get organised in the next 12 weeks!!

AnotherStitchInTime · 28/10/2013 18:25

Thanks all, have been allowed to eat and drink finally after being nil by mouth all day and will be moved to ante-natal shortly. Feeling a bit happier now I have eaten, low blood sugar makes me all emotional.

Just caught up a bit, signal is so intermittent here.

Sorry to hear about mrhumpty humpty, glad they caught it and that he is recovering well. Hopefully he will be home with you soon.

AnotherStitchInTime · 28/10/2013 18:26

Hope your appointment went ok nature, have been thinking of you x

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 28/10/2013 18:31

another yay that you have had food, that's always a sign that they are relaxing! PHEW! Really hope you go home soon.

MrHumpty should be home tomorrow, with luck. Phew again.

Now I would like a week STRESS-FREE, please!

BandontheFun · 28/10/2013 19:03

Just checking in...u guys have been busy 3 pages already!

Humpty hope ur husband gets home soon.

nature hope ur appointment went went ok

Another that sounds scary hopefully u get home soon. Last thing u need just now is the weather being an ass!

For our baby's room the walls are neutral but we have added lime green, turquoise and orange. It's pretty unisex just now but think if it's a girl it will be easy enough to add in pinks and purples.

I'm pretty organised wanted to get the baby stuff bought so I can start thing about Christmas! Just stuff for my hospital bag and sheets for the crib and cotbed, I have to get now, do u think disposable pants are a necessity? Also looked at maternity mats for the bed and car and stuff not sure if I will need them anyone used them in previous pregnancies? So much leakage to think about! Shock who knew?

MrsGSR · 28/10/2013 19:38

another glad you've been able to eat, I hope they get you home soon! I don't have any jokes but notalwaysright.com always makes me laugh, a website full of stupid things customers say.

AnotherStitchInTime · 28/10/2013 19:39

I think pink is over rated, the dd's bedroom is a lovely tropical sky blue with dinosaurs, as requested by dd1. Dd2 also loves it and is obsessed with dinosaurs, she points to the wall transfers and says "dinosaur, rrraaa"!

I bought cheap black cotton Primark big knickers instead for my last two band, more comfortable, just buy two sizes bigger. I had bed mats for my last pregnancy which are good, waterproof sheets for my first, but they slide too much, but typically my waters went as I got into the car, all over the footwell.

After this experience I will be getting my hospital bag together I think!

sarahleanne · 28/10/2013 19:43

Don't forget big fat sanitary towels almost like nappies for your hospital bags. Get the huge ones as they will be comfier if you end up having stitches.

humpty I hope DH makes a good recovery.

another that sounds scary.I hope you get some sleep in there tonight.

nature any news? thinking of you.

madrat jealous of your IKEA trip tomorrow !!

DD is currently in what will be the babies room. She will be moved in with DS once babies born into the bottom bunk with a bed guard. Thinking about it, I should probably get her used to this before babies born as the transition from cot to bed could be tough? Hmm

29 weeks today! :) It's getting closer ladies...

AnotherStitchInTime · 28/10/2013 20:12

How old is dd Sarah? Dd2 had been in a cot bed with a bed guard since 17 months. Do you plan on having the baby in with you for a while at first at all, to give you more time? You could always try taking the drop side off the cot with a bed guard for a trial and see how it goes before moving her?

Big pads also good over cs scars to protect them too.

sarahleanne · 28/10/2013 20:18

Oh that's good to hear your DD has been in a bed with a guard since so little, that's fairly reassuring actually.
DD will be 2yo next month so I think age wise she is fine. The baby will be in with me for approx. 6 months or when I stop breastfeeding so plenty of time to move dd into the other room. But, I've been reading that it may be better to move dd sooner rather than later so she doesn't feel that the baby has taken over her space/room etc. hmmm decisions...

BookTart · 28/10/2013 20:23

Blimey another, glad to hear all is okay though. Hope they let you out soon.

nature, how did it go this afternoon?

Nursery-wise the baby will be going into the second bedroom, but it has lots of beams on the walls and ceilings so it will probably stay magnolia with some wall stickers to jazz it up a bit, because painting in between the beams is a massive hassle. I'm really badly organised though - tonnes of cute babygros but only one blanket, no bedding yet but loads of cotton wool. I think I'm just panic buying!

DP worried/stunned me earlier. I had to explain to him why he needs to come to ante natal classes, because he thought it was just in case he had to deliver the baby at home in an emergency. Apparently he could just look up how to do that on the internet if he had to. It took ages to explain that it would help him to know what to expect, and how he could help me through labour (whilst I am calling him all the bastards under the sun and blaming him for the whole thing Grin) Promise me yours are all a bit less dense, or we're all in trouble!

Sultanajo · 28/10/2013 20:46

Lol book! I too have been panic buying I think!

During the first Nct class, DH said to me in surprise "the baby comes out head first?" When the instructor also suggested the blokes may wanna cut the cord, his first reaction was "can I say I dont want to?" Hmm Am really quite worried about how he will cope. Am praying everything goes smoothly and I dont totally lose it for his sake apart from anything else! Think it could put him off having any more otherwise....Shock

TobyLerone · 28/10/2013 20:54

We haven't been to any classes, but DH has a pretty good understanding of the whole thing. I think...

Another! How worrying for you. Are you feeling ok now?

Thinking of you, Nature Flowers

We don't have a nursery. We only have 3 bedrooms and they're all full. So the baby's in with us for the foreseeable future. We'll have to move next year.

Glad DH is on the mend, Humpty :)

I've no idea who else I've missed out. You've all been super-chatty today!

My sister and my adorable nephew have just been round for dinner. I finally cooked the roast I've been longing for for about a week, and typically I only managed a tiny bit :(
I have, however, allowed myself a half glass of red wine this evening and it's sooooo lovely! I've been sipping it for about an hour :o

Sultanajo · 28/10/2013 21:01

toby its so frustrating only being able to manage a small bit of your meal! Glad u finally got your roast though....Grin

Swannykazoo · 28/10/2013 21:05

Every time I hear any cord cutting chat I think about the scene in Peep Show when Sophie has her section and Mark is thinking in his head "Cut the cord? That's your job. Or do you want to do some credit ratings for me in return?" or something on those lines. DH definitely in the Mark Corrigan camp here though I have banned him from going out for KFC on the day

flowersfortea · 28/10/2013 21:15

Hi everyone, just checking in and now heading off to find the last thread and catch up on everything!

Stitch - hope all stays well overnight. If you're looking for some cuteness /distraction then this link is lovely: www.boredpanda.org/wengenn-in-wonderland-sioin-queenie-liao/

All well here with me, 28 weeks tomorrow and very much identifying with those getting fatigued!

Toothfairy78 · 28/10/2013 21:39

Urgh! Blimmin' Monday!

What is wrong with people at work? Dept head was back today though he's still a bit unwell. Asked what I was doing about organising the fecking Xmas do! Given that my lovely friend volunteered but is a shy retiring type, I may have to gently nudge her to take the lead. May also ask what the other senior mgr on the floor is doing about it.

There are also a lot of people in the danger zone for:
Giving me more work to do
Looking to me for guidance/hand holding
Chasing me for stupid tasks
Plain old dithering
Being useless

Have people not clocked I'm pregnant or something???

Sorry about the self centred post, but it's either that or I start collecting scrotums / scalps Angry

Anyway moving swiftly on...
Glad to see people are safe after the storm.
nature, humpty any news?
another hoping you get to go home soon and get some rest.
I could do with a trip to Ikea, kinda sounds like an appealing idea right now, so very Envy madrat!

Hope you're ok another and you get to go home soon.

So appointment was long. Didn't get seen until 5.30 and then I was scanned for 1.5hours! So had good news in that babies bladder is fine. Consultant thinks the sonographer was measuring cyst and bladder together which is why it was measuring so big. We were team yellow but she warned us at the start she may have to tell us the sex because of the diagnosis and she did, because the cyst is either a duplex kidney or possibly an ovarian cyst, so we are now team pink Smile Dh and I are over the moon and was quite nice finding out after all the stress. So either of those conditions is easily treatable. However she does now think the stomach looked a bit strange so has offered us an amino. Have to be scanned again in two weeks to check on everything and see if anything is clearer. Will see what stomach looks like then and make a decision on the amino at that point.

Both of us feeling a lot better. Thanks for all the support over the past few days it's been much appreciated.
