chelsea can you keep harassing them to give you something? Tenacity hopefully helps and if you don't mind moving slightly away, you may get something?

sorry to hear that feather hopefully it'll all work out well!

frouby sorry you have such a lousy appointment - any chance of it turning for you.

Lady I've managed to break a tooth today! I hope that's the only problem I have with teeth and pregnancy.

Think junior is still head down, can't tell ...

Really random thing I've started to notice, at the tip of my bump towards my sternum I have a numb spot, anyone else got this?

Report
Alyssa1978 · 24/10/2013 21:54

Yes me mrs
It's directly under my right boob and its numb to the touch but really hurts too, I had it with ds2 and its gotten worse with this one, it goes away after bump is born.

Asked ds1 what he wanted to call the baby and he replied with jelly baby lol bless him.

Glad everything turned out ok chelsea and little one is staying out for now.

Sorry for missing people out, it's all moved too fast while I've been at work, I think I'll keep up better when I eventually start mat leave lol

I get that feeling and I just though it was cos baby is breech and was sticking its little head in my ribs didn't realise everyone got it!!

Me too - I had a really painful right underboob. It used to go from numb, to very sharp and burning like agony. It stopped as soon as I was signed off work. So it must be exacerbated by prolonged sitting at desk. Now I only get it if I've been standing or walking for long - which isn't often now at all! As somebody said earlier - it has gone rapidly downhill here in recent weeks and a pleasant walk is a rare luxury now.

P.S.
So much to catch up on!

Just an update from me about today's scan, everything is fine with bump and we managed to avoided the gender again. Apparently bump weighs about 4lb already (gulp) and according to dp has my nose. :)
Will catch up with everyone properly in the morning as we've been for a meal for sil's birthday tonight and I am stuffed so going to sleeps

Thanks everyone for being so kind when I was having a mini breakdown/bitching session. I'm normally a nice girl.

Glad all is OK Chelsea :-)

Feeling better now - skipped my molecular biology lecture this morning to sleep! Was so needed. House is still a mess and mother due to come and stay - but balls to it. I'm a working mum of two who's 34 weeks pregnant and a full time uni' student - if my house was immaculate too I'd have a cape!

Got an email from work today telling me I had 2 days leave I needed to take before my mat' leave / due date - so that cheered me up too (may even manage a day off before baby is born).

Sorry to all those having a tough time with growth and RFM. I just keep feeling wet - although midwife said not to worry - I'm sure it smells funny and am paranoid that people think I'm 'the dodgy smelling pregnant girl' - although my husband assures me it doesn't smell funny (not an offensive smell - just weird).

Wonder who of us will have baby first?

I expect to be late - was with the last two - will be a shock of this one is early as I am busy right up until due date.

Gonna try and get more sleep (I could sleep for England). In the lab tomorrow - took a swab of my iPhone to see what was living on it - I should see the results tomorrow - I'm more excited about that then the experiment I'm supposed to be doing. Ha ha.

Sleep well ladies x

With regards to holiday. I had 5 days to take before my mat leave started but stupid douche of a manager said I wasn't entitled to them which I know I am. But I'm not on Mat leave. Can I get the pay or have I got to face facts that I will just loose it ?

Report
Stom91 · 24/10/2013 23:03

Now on Mat leave *

Report
5ammy · 24/10/2013 23:07

I think if you don't take the leave you can just lose it. I said I wanted to be paid for mine - but they said no. They've told me if I don't book it they'll automatically allocate it to me.

I'm just trying to work out when to book it now :-/

Stom, did you go straight on to mat leave, or were you signed off sick?. If you were sick, then went to mat leave, then they have to carry any remaining holiday over to the next tax/holiday year (I think). I know that is the case with my nhs trust and they are very much guided by the queen (hmrc).

Worth checking out.

Can I ask a couple of questions about the fb group? Can any of your fb friends see that youre a member of it? Can anyone who's not a member find it or see what's written? And can members of the group see your profile, or only what you write on the group? I would like to join but I'm very particular about who I'm friends with and what people can read due to some bad experiences some friends have had in the past Sad

DaleyBump · 24/10/2013 23:48

No Pistachio, I made it secret so nobody can see you're a member except the other members. Someone has to add you as a friend to add you to the group, but you can remove them afterwards. You have to be invited, you can't find it otherwise. I'll add you if you like and remove you from my friends list straight away? :)

Oh dear, think if have a poorly little boy! He woke up covered in horrendously stinky poo and has been so lethargic since getting up. He's usually so busy charging about, no time for mammy, but he spent ages lying on the floor half-heartedly pushing a fire engine back and forth then climbed up on the sofa, dragged a blanket over himself then pulled my arm around him and snuggled in! He feels a bit warm too. Think I'm going to put him down for an early nap at about 10 with some calpol, and if his little brother would be so kind as to stop head butting my bladder I might get my head down for a bit too as I feel like I haven't slept!

oh no feather hope your ds gets better soon. Hopefully it's just a 24 hour thing.

I am in a full on screw the world mood today and will probably spend most of it hiding under a blanket eating custard creams. I have about a million phonecalls to make today. None of which I can make because my phone has decided today it shall die. Should hopefully be getting a new phone this evening though unless orange carry on being stupid fuckwits and pissing me about.

Taken DD to nursery and picked up a couple of bits from the shop and I'm wiped out. Putting my feet up for a bit but I have a massive list of thing to do today!

Morning all!

Been keeping up with everyone's posts over the last couple of days but haven't had chance to chip in til now!

My Grandad is very, very ill so I popped round for a visit yesterday in case it's the last chance I'll get to see him.
I've been putting it off for ages, firstly because he was in hospital for quite a while and so I was advised not to visit in case I picked up any germs, but secondly because I didn't know how I'd cope with the whole situation.
What with all these pregnancy hormones, I didn't want to end up stressing out the little one or bursting into tears in front of everyone and making things even harder for them! Amazingly I managed to stay very calm though and told him how we'd be using his name for our little man's middle name Smile

DP cheered me up afterwards by taking me to Wetherspoon's for dinner (he's a charmer, I know!) so by the time we got home I was completely shattered. Somehow though I still managed to end up waking up at 2.30am and stayed wide awake until about 5.30am... All these people telling me to make the most of sleeping while I can is starting to feel like a cruel joke! Hmm

Feather I hope your little boy feels better soon, bless him.
And Chelsea I'm so glad to hear everything's ok with you and baby.
5ammy I was wondering that the other day - maybe we should start taking bets on who will give birth first?! My money's on Daley Wink

Hope he picks up soon feather.

Well I have spent the night being kicked and punched from the inside lol. At 5am I am pretty sure baby was vertical rather than horizontal. Would guess from where I was getting booted most he was head down.

By 7am pretty sure he was horizontal again.

It appears my little boy is a fidget bum lol.

Am going to join you with a lazy day I think. Am knackered after such a busy night and think an hours snooze will do me the world of good.

Pram shopping tomorrow whoop whoop!

managed to get my phone to charge using an elaborate concoction of household items to hold the wire in exactly the right place. I stupidly used the custard creams though and now I am staring hopelessly at them because it took me an hour to get the bloody phone on charge so there is no way I am going near it until it is at least 3/4 done!

I'm sorry to hear about your granddad liz I know what you mean about people saying make the most of the amount of sleep you get. I want to punch them in the face. with spikes on my knuckles that have some kind of slow acting poison that makes their life unbearable for many weeks before killing them. I have probably thought too much about this, but what else is there to do at 4am? Grin

enjoy your nap froubyI just had one and it was amazing.
