Oh Chelsea I hope you're okay! Sounds like the drip is doing its job and hopefully you'll be on your way soon.

WhisperMen · 08/11/2013 08:17

good luck Chelsea hope the drip works and you can keep cooking your little one a bit longer.

I too am worried alyssa I am 35 weeks next week and with the way this thread is going I am keeping my legs firmly crossed. I'm not ready to meet little one yet!

Chilli81 · 08/11/2013 08:18

congrats Lisb I also finished work this week on Wednesday. yeay!!! although I felt like I'd been hit by a truck yesterday on my first day off.

Chelsea best of luck. what a crazy couple of days you've had. Hope labour is progressing now and that you are close to having your gorgeous little one. Smile

Kitten3 · 08/11/2013 08:29

Wow Chelsea! What amazing news. Hope everything is progressing nicely for you and you aren't under too much stress or anxiety.
I think one of my coping strategies is to be slightly fatalist and think along the lines of 'what will be, will be' and work with what I have.

I am 37 weeks next week and due to leave work the week after! Am cutting it very fine but I want to have as much time with baby on maternity leave. Just hoping that I don't embarrass myself by going into early labour while teaching in school! Can't imagine any of the boys forgetting about that.

Eyeballing commuters who are sitting on seats reserved for pregnant/disabled folk is probably what I should do. I just hate to even ask- instead I growl on the inside very loudly.

We went out as a family to a drive in movie last night- I could feel regular tightenings coming and going. So exciting! Have a lovely day ladies. X

kchapper5 · 08/11/2013 08:48

How are you getting on chelsea? I hope everything's going as ok as it can so far.
I think I'm going to be the last one pregnant with my edd as the 30/12 and my bump measuring small :)
On a plus side due to my copious amounts of AL I finish work today :) just been given a lovely little hamper by my boss. Hope everyone else is doing ok

Chilli81 · 08/11/2013 08:55

ladymedea that's exactly how I'm sleeping including the crappy hangover headache (but didn't have the fun of getting drunk!).

I'm 36 weeks tomorrow. I go between feeling fed up and thinking I can't last another 4 (potentially 6) weeks and then trying to tell myself it's too early to feel this crap and trying to enjoy it much possible.

MrsShrubs · 08/11/2013 09:00

Glad the drip seems to be working for you chelsea we'll all be keeping our fingers crossed for you!! Hope you manage to get some rest in.

lisbapalea so jealous you've finished and your commuting days are over for a while, enjoy the start of your maternity leave - I finish a week today and cannot wait!! Kchapper have a good last day! Kitten really admire you being able to go past 37 weeks, I was going to be here an extra week and stop at 37 but after the chaos on the trains the last few weeks I just don't have the patience anymore! Smile

Had my 34 week MW appointment yesterday (always throws me because I'm 35 weeks tomorrow so always a bit over my weeks) and after my HUGE hunger burst these last 2 weeks - it was like I'd never had food before in my life - my fundal measurements have gone from being consistently 2cm under to being slap bang on track so little boy must have been having a growth spurt in there! Also had a nice second confirmation he is definitely a boy after she was doing the heart rate and looked at me saying ' do you know what you're having' me ' a boy ' her 'thought so the heart rate is exactly in the male range' so I can breathe a sigh of relief that it won't be a quick repaint of the nursery or trying to exchange clothes!

Tried to do too much though after that yesterday cleaning the house and food shopping and my back seized up and my SPD really started playing up so ended up having a long soak in the tub and a warm hot water bottle strapped to my back, luckily can move again today.

I've definitely missed people the rate the thread was going yesterday really sorry!! Hope everyones doing well today and looking forward to the weekend Grin

Stom91 · 08/11/2013 09:28

Wow we can talk lol
Good luck chelsea! so exciting!
alyssa what a weird dream lol.
I just keep having horrible drams where I die or dp dies before of just after dd is born. It's horrible.

Yay to those starting mat leave. :)

Alyssa1978 · 08/11/2013 09:31

Glad the drips starting to work chelsea hopefully little one will get to stay inside for longer.

Congrats to everyone starting maternity leave.

Dp is back to work tomorrow but Santa and his reindeer arrive at dalton park and then fireworks on the night so my sister and her 2 kids are picking me and my 2 kids up and my mum lol so at least we all get out for the day and if the weather is nice its adventure valley on Sunday.

I have my last hopefully consultant appt on Monday, only because there was no clinic after my last growth scan. I wouldn't bother going if it wasn't the last one as its 2 buses and a 50 minute journey just so she can say the last growth scan was fine, it only takes 5 minutes but with these headaches etc i suppose it can't hurt to get my bp taken etc.

Featherbag · 08/11/2013 09:38

I'm starting to worry a little about this headache. Going to go check my BP, but if it's normal should I still ring?

WhisperMen · 08/11/2013 09:40

I would still ring as it could be an infection or something. that was how mine started. best to ask them or at least make them aware that you have it of you see what I mean?

Chelsealady · 08/11/2013 09:56

Kc my due date was 30 december lol. Just spoke to midwife she said they just want to keep me in so they can keep an eye on me my irons low got fast heart rate/pulse and trouble breathing. Just had to have a blood test in my main artery wow they are saw!

froubylou · 08/11/2013 10:07

Morning all

Arrrrrggggghhhhhhh. Bloody Orange or EE or whatever they are. Incompetant bastards giving me a rage lol. And breathe.

I'm 34 weeks today and can not imagine going another 8 weeks. I ache from top to toe, have constant acid indegestion, can't sleep, can't eat, and just thoroughly pissed off. I feel like going back to bed for the day, pulling the quilt over my head and just feeling sorry for myself. I darent go supermarket shopping or even nice baby clothes shopping or even leave the house as I am about 1 comment away from having a full on hormonal meltdown of epic proportions.

Best stay home I think.

Feathers are you drinking enough? Perhaps you are a bit dehydrated but definatly give your M/W a call.

Chelsea hope you are OK?

I keep having wierd dreams as well. More weird than upsetting though. Don't know how I find time to dream with getting up and down for a wee, then turning over to get comfy etc etc etc. Sigh.

Brilliant news about everyone nearly finishing for their maternity leave! Although I work from home and don't really do a great deal, I'd like an official end date but it just isn't possible. DP came home last night and said 'we have a meeting on Saturday morning at 11am'. Said fine and asked who 'we' was expecting him to say him and his sort of work partner. No. He wanted me to go with him as I technically own the company, even though thats just so I can do the paperwork and returns and stuff.

Told him there is no way at 8 months pregnant with nothing remotely business like that fits I am going an hour away in the car on a saturday morning for a meeting to discuss buildings contracts when to be fair I don't have a fucking clue! He said he didn't want to take anyone else as he misses me during the week and it would be nice to spend some time together.

Told him to fuck off still. He just wants me to do the directions thing and hold his hand whilst he pitches for the business. Any other time I don't mind doing it, just not whilst I'm burping acid and as hormonal as a class of 30 15 year old girls lol.

13loki · 08/11/2013 11:03

Alyssa Dalton Park in county durham? I used to live in Peterlee when I first moved to the UK and caught the bus past Dalton Park on the way to work.
Getting DD from childminder an hour and a half early today and then getting DS from school because DH is going out after work and he might as well stay at work until he goes out rather than drive home and back. I should go have a shower - I need to leave in half an hour!

AngryByrd · 08/11/2013 11:19

Hi Everyone!

36 weeks today!!

So I wanted to buy a play kitchen for my son; and found a used one around the corner. Sent my sisters to pick it up and the woman who sold it--hadn't told me it was broken! I am ridiculously upset. I hate dishonest people.
Featherbag · 08/11/2013 11:21

Sitting in the antenatal clinic now. BP fine but head feels like it's going to burst. Just given them a urine sample, waiting for someone to come actually speak to me so I can tell them I vomited just before I left and I'm having irregular crampy pains.

WhisperMen · 08/11/2013 11:25

frouby you have literally just written my own post. I was going to complain about how shit I feel. I was 34 weeks yesterday and the thought of 8 more weeks makes me want to cry and stamp my feet like a child. I broke my ankle last year and today ive woken up and it's swollen and cant put much weight on it. just what I need on top of every other piece of my body hurting or playing up.

sending you positive vibes Chelsea hope you're not too bored and poorly.

violetbean · 08/11/2013 11:35

feather and Chelsea, hope everything goes well in hospital and you get to go home soon.

Plumbers came round this morning, very apologetic, promised to fix everything good as new (including the stained ceiling & broken light fitting). Fingers crossed no more leaks!

Alyssa, love Dalton Park, have a great time!

Chelsealady · 08/11/2013 12:10

Really really bored now! My nans just left wish i could just go home:(

MildredH · 08/11/2013 12:20

Chelsea- have they managed to stop your labour then? Have they said what they'll do? I hope you're ok- what a few days you've had!!

Feather- have you been seen yet? Hope for you it's something and nothing..

Not much happening in my world.. Still getting a lot of quite reg BH's. usually notice more when sitting still- went to cinema last night with my mum, she was jumping out of her seat every time I put a hand on my bump lol. DH had to stay away last night so I told her she was "on call"!

Bag now almost packed- all essentials in there. Just want to pick up few "nice to have" bits like the water spray etc.. But feel much more prepared.

Reeeeeally need to get dressed now and do few little jobs.. Why is it the less you have to do, the less you want to do it?

abcdemma · 08/11/2013 12:36

Hope all's going ok Chelsea, have they managed to slow/stop things? Like everyone else has sadi, screw your ex, better to find out now and be better prepared. You'll get the love and cuddles of a newborn to distract you Smile
Feather hope it's nothing to worry about but best to be given the once over just to make sure...
After a day of feeling horrendous yesterday and being dragged here there and everywhere by DP, today is my day of rest! Although I'm feeling alright today (except every kick seems to be causing me pain in my sides and down below) so am in 2 minds what to do. I may put the cute wall stickers up in the nursery Smile
Hope everyone's doing ok, what with lots of recent trials and tribulations Brew

abcdemma · 08/11/2013 12:37

said*, not sadi Confused

Featherbag · 08/11/2013 13:22

All is well, cervix long & closed, having BH and baby def still breech but I knew that! They reckon the headache is hormonal. Just waiting for them to say I can leave then going to find food as I'm mega hungry now, breakfast came back up so haven't eaten since yesterday.

mumoftwoboysS · 08/11/2013 13:22

alyssa ooh I hope your dream was a premonition! I will obviously love this child boy or girl, but....a girl would be lovely! If I have a boy then I'll have to come to terms with the fact that I'll never have a girl which does make me a bit sad Sad but there's no way we're having any more after this!

feather hope your headache goes soon or they at least check to make sure all is ok.

chelsea hope they managed to stop the labour- like the others say, baby would be fine I'm sure but I guess he/she would be better off if they can cook a while longer inside! Maybe your recent stress triggered it- there's something to throw at your ex if he gets in contact!

abc am envious you're at the stage where you can put stickers on your nursery walls. I'm sat in the so called nursery now on the computer, desk is still here, storage units, filing cabinet and lots of other crap. It all needs to be cleared out this weekend so I can FINALLY start painting!

13loki · 08/11/2013 13:45

Popped into work while picking up DS. Apparently, I am huge but all bump. Got DD some chicken for lunch, so that was OK. Told off some kids I used to teach. Had multiple offers for lifts to the hospital if I go into labour while DH is out tonight.

The nursery here has to have the walls roller spackelled before we can paint. Luckily baby will sleep in our room for 6 months, so plenty of time to fix her room.
