I read somewhere that during the later stages of pregnancy your organs become somewhat compressed due to the size of the baby and it can slow down your system making your bowel motions a bit off kilter.
I am very weird about my motions- I use a separate bathroom to my OH when needing to do anything more than a wee!!!
He used to tease me before the birth of our daughter how I could have an accident on the bed- luckily I had a Cs!

froubylou · 07/11/2013 17:22

Chelsea hope you are ok. Did you manage to take your things with you? How many weeks are you now? Baby will be fine, you just get early cuddles!

Better an empty house than an unwelcome visitor I always say about wind.

But I have never farted in front of dp before now. Once you get over the first few its actually quite liberating I have found lol.

itsliz · 07/11/2013 17:44

Roselau and mum that sounds really cute! It might be that I just haven't noticed him having hiccups... Still don't think I've felt anything like that yet, but I'll be keeping an eye out now Smile

Just checked the stats thread and Chelsea isn't on there. I've got in mind she's due the same day as me though, which would make her 32+3... I could be wrong though so don't quote me on that!

WhisperMen · 07/11/2013 17:57

was it Chelsea who went to see mw and they thought she was closer to 36 weeks rather than the 32 weeks she thought she was?

just had a brilliant pregnancy brain moment. decided I wanted burgers for dinner but then got upset because I wanted them to taste of chicken not beef. burst into tears about it. dp asked what was wrong and I explained. he looked at me like I had three heads and simply said why didn't I have a chicken burger. I had genuinely forgotten chicken burgers existed. he has now gone out to get me some after laughing for 20 minutes at me.

Roselau · 07/11/2013 18:15

whisper I think that's normal... I never thought I'd get pregnancy brain, but it started. I was complaining that it's so hard to bend over to plug the fan on and off (have been doing since we got it two weeks ago), and one night my DH clued in and was like: why aren't you just using the on/off button at the top instead of plugging / unplugging? I was so mad at myself I burst into tears. haha.

My BMs are also all over the place, but I've not been constipated, more the opposite for the whole pregnancy iykwim, and still now. And if I have to go, I have to go and you better not be standing in my way.

Stom91 · 07/11/2013 18:15

Oh whisper I'm sorry but you do make me laugh lol
And yeah I think I Remember chelsea saying that me thought she was closer to 36 weeks as they weren't sure and she's been measuring bigger all the way though.

WhisperMen · 07/11/2013 18:20

I'm so happy that chicken burgers exist I keep clapping with excitement. Grin

Alyssa1978 · 07/11/2013 18:45

Hope everything's ok chelsea

whisper lol but pregnancy brain is definately a real thing. Hope you enjoy your burger Hun.

Not sure who was asking begore about poo pains but I get them all the time and I'm like ooh this is it I'm going ino labour and after I've been to the toilet they go Angry
I'm still going number two about twice a day but I'm having to run like I'm not going to make it and then tmi alert spend the next half hour straining like hell that I think the baby is going to pop out lol.

Went to mothercare today and we bought that outfit mum that you mentioned mummys best xmas gift it was so cute we couldn't resist.
We also got a sling for the baby as for how long we will use a double buggy is wasn't worth paying the money for it.

Sickness has started for me again and I'm feeling nauseous after everything I eat but I remember that happening right before ds2 was born so hopefully a sign that labour is near Grin

mumoftwoboysS · 07/11/2013 20:01

Ooh alyssa I haven't forgotten about that outfit- may have to get it next week!

DH has gone out tonight drinking (he rarely goes out) and I'm so pissed off even tho I shouldn't be. I just hate being fat and hormonal and not able to drink and so feel its unfair that's he can have a few!

There's sod all on tv, I've got restless leg and just feel bloody irritated with everything!

PistachioTruffle · 07/11/2013 20:10

Ooh how many weeks are you Alyssa? I just know I'm going to go overdue, I'm just hoping I'm not in hospital at Christmas [hmmm]
Speaking of hospital, is anyone bringing a hair dryer with them, and would I even be allowed to use it? I know I sound ridiculous, but if I don't blow dry my hair it turns into a fluffy flyaway ball if frizz which sticks out of my head at funny angles, and I don't to look back on our first photos as a family and hate how I look.

I'm glad it's not just me having, ahem, wind, issues - I'd never in front of DH untill I was pregnant, and he takes great delight in winding me up about it Angry

Alyssa1978 · 07/11/2013 20:14

Aw bless you mum I hate restless leg it's so bloody annoying.
I'm totally with you on feeling irritated, anything and everything is pissing me off lately and I know I'm being irrational but I can't help it.

I stopped smoking about 3 months before finding out I was pregnant this time but lately I'm craving a tab and a bottle of blue wkd......ooh I've just set myself off again.
I've had no cravings this time really, apart from the smell of fire lighters the white ones my mum used to light the coal fire with petrol and paint, strange cravings but the smell I just love Confused

Alyssa1978 · 07/11/2013 20:19

pistachio I'm 36+4 but dp thinks I'm just getting my hopes up and I'll go over but at least he will def be out for Xmas.

Not sure about the hair dryer I can't say I ever saw anyone using one but dp says the bathroom had one on the wall, I'm doubting that as I can't remember seeing that, I think he's mistaking our last holiday bathroom lol but you never know

itsliz · 07/11/2013 20:20

Ooh mum can I join in with a moan?!

I know I've put on weight since being pregnant but I didn't realise how huge I'd got until today... Spotted my reflection in a shop window earlier and my arse is GINORMOUS!!!

Instead of bursting into tears, I actually managed to remind myself that it's only natural and will all be worth it in the end.
That was all well and good until I started clearing out my phone this evening to make space for the thousands of baby photos I know I'll end up taking, and came across pics of me and DP from last Christmas/ New Year. I was tipsy and happy and really bloody skinny compared to the whale of a person I am now!

Obviously I'm happy to be starting a family and excited to be meeting our little one soon, but I can't help feeling a little bit sad knowing that I'll be huge, waddly and stone cold sober this festive season.

Stupid hormones...

Featherbag · 07/11/2013 22:58

Pleased it's not just me moaning! My head is SPLITTING. I've had this headache all bloody day, have resorted to co-codamol and a bath, usually that combination would be guaranteed to shift it but if anything it's getting worse. No protein in pee so I think it's just a bog standard headache, but OW! Doesn't help that DS has developed an obsession with trains, and has spent ALL day asking me 'WHERE'S the too-too train?' with an increasingly puzzled expression like there should always be a train available for him to look at because he wants to see one. Even in the middle of Ikea. It was very cute the first 400 million times but was wearing a little thin by bedtime. I think I need to rethink the mountain of Thomas the Tank Engine stuff I know Santa's bringing him!

violetbean · 08/11/2013 01:06

Hope you're ok Chelsea, you're in the best place for them to look after you.

Can I have another moan? Just spent 2 hours in the car getting back from the funeral, totally exhausted, and came in the house to find a massive leak from the ceiling, where the plumbers have been installing the new bath. DH has found the source and turned off the water but the ceiling looks awful and we had to turn the downstairs lighting circuit off to stop a weird buzzing noise. Argh! I just want to sleep and I'm all stressed out now. Sad Yesterday the toilet was leaking where they hadn't reconnected it properly, but they sorted that out this morning. Feel like we have contracted the dodgiest plumbers ever but they had amazing reviews on Check-a-trade. Hmm

We have texted the plumbers asking them to come and sort it first thing tomorrow. Really hope they come and sort out this mess and are apologetic about it too! Hate complaining but this really was the final straw. Arghhhhhhh.

Chelsealady · 08/11/2013 01:45

Updating you all. Have been in labour since 11.00am 2and a half cm dialated. On the drip to stop my contractions not working at the moment baby is still fully active thankfully. Having my second steroid shot at 4.30. By dates im 32+3 but i measure 35 so still premature labour. Will update you all in the morning going to try get some rest x

PistachioTruffle · 08/11/2013 02:33

Good luck Chelsea xx

violetbean · 08/11/2013 07:06

Go Chelsea!

Alyssa1978 · 08/11/2013 07:40

Good luck chelsea hope the drip works but if not everything will be fine, have you got people there for you Hun?

Ok I'm officially bricking it now....no one is getting past 36 weeks on the December thread and I'm 37 weeks on Monday.

feather I've had a Headache for days too but I'm loaded with cold so I think it's just that and no sleep due to this stinging bit under my right boob, even the pregnancy pillow is not working anymore.

Oh no violet I hope they get it all sorted for you today.

I had the worst nightmare last night and strangest little dreams all into one, all of a sudden I wasn't pregnant anymore and I had to start from the beginning but could only make it happen with a mums netter so stom helped me lol and I kept staring in the mirror at my I've just had a baby tummy but i hadnt and then I had to join a different thread as I wasn't due for another 9 months arghhhhhh Confused and then mum phoned me to say she was not mumof2boys anymore but now mumof2boysand1girl

lisbapalea · 08/11/2013 07:45

Wow chelsea that's so exciting! Really hope you're doing ok? You've had some great advice on here from the likes of frouby so please do seek out the available support when you're ready. I think your imminent arrival of a lovely new baby will give you a happy distraction for a good while though!!

I lost a huge post earlier - grr!

Commuting in London does indeed suck and I have been stunned by the rudeness of some people who are well aware there's a pregnant woman standing, yet still refuse to give their seat! I have found that hardcore eyeballing usually does the trick...

But thankfully I won't have to do any commuting for a long while now as yesterday was my last day at work! Feels so good to be finished and I had some lovely messages from colleagues and clients so I feel like I have finished with a clear conscience!

Also just had my best night's sleep in ages, which I am sure must be linked to finishing work!

Hope everyone is feeling good today?

BohemianRaspberry · 08/11/2013 07:56

So much has happened!

chelsea keep going, you'll soon have a lovely little one! Best of luck. X

I keep getting numb hips when I sleep now and violet I do the twisted sleep positions too. Usually face down and twisted side bump and legs is my pref.

My pregnancy brain is at full throttle. Currently away atm and woke up this morning from a pregnancy dream where I was making hundreds of breakfast and then told a dozing dh quite loudly 'you can't have any breakfast'. Bewildered and now quite awake he asks why, I genuinely tell him 'because you are not.bacon'

Chelsealady · 08/11/2013 08:11

Thankyou so much everyone! Overwhelmed with everyones support. My contractions are slowing but not hone completely think the drips working! I didn't want any pain relief but had to have some because i previously broke 4 ribs on my right side so hurts with the contractions. Been here 24 hours nearly now:(

13loki · 08/11/2013 08:13

Good luck chelsea

Alyssa I will be 37 weeks on Sunday, and I am sure I will still be pregnant in 5 weeks from now. Waddling, unable to move and fed up, but still pregnant!

I am meant to take DD to childminder today, she should be there in 18 minutes and we are not dressed. She doesn't want to go. This will be a fun experience trying to dress her when I can't chase or pick her up.

LadyMedea · 08/11/2013 08:14

This sleep deprivation is killing me. I only seem to be able to get 45 min chunks between about 3am and 6am. Then maybe another hour in the morning. Just leaving me feeling like I have a rotten hangover. Bump is just hurting now, I think its unhappy bowels getting squished rather than directly baby related. Just feeling sick and bloated now. Sad

Sending you good vibes chelsea even at 32+ baby will be fine as evidenced by my DS who is currently spreading porridge in a fine layer across my living room! I just don't have the energy to stop him!

Still got the bloody headache, it woke me up a few times overnight. Only 13 more sleeps though and Benedict will be here :)
