Stom91 · 08/11/2013 14:03

Ahh need to rant. Just had a call from
So at work! (He never calls) I try and cut it short.
BIL is moving to Dubai at as. He has offered is to rent his house while he is away at first when he told is in April it was 3 years. He bought the agreement round the other day as it's not chaned to 18 months anyway.
A few months ago we discuses about rent payment etc etc
He bought the agreement round last week. ( bearing in mind we aren't moving in until 7th December)
Dp had said to him we will try and pay the first month rent a couple weeks before we move (mid nov) just to make things abit easier etc.
so we haven't got to sign the agreement until we move in8th dec (that's what we done with leaders) so we haven't signed it yet as it's only beg nov. And dp has been working late.
BIL keeps pushing for us to sign it even though we won't be living there for at least 4 weeks ( we don't want to sign until we moved in like leaders) I don't know why he's pushing it so much.
Anyway BIL rang dp at work effing an blinding at him because we haven't paid first month rent yet !! He's written on the agreement we are to pay the first months rent on 7th November! We don't move until 7th dec!
He was moanin at dp he had no money in is bank. Now dp says that his own fault. We had only said we would try and pay him a couple weeks before. Nothing had been set in stone.
BIL is making everything difficult. Like at the start he said what furniture do you want and we will store the rest. Now he says we HAVE to have all the furniture. He even tired to get us to keep his bed and get rid of ours! (Bit weird sleeping in someone else's bed!)
So now me and dp are thinking this is a bad idea but it's too late to do anything cos we've already handed in our notice for this flat an they have new tenants moving in.
I said to dp we should just stay 6 -12months then find somewhere else.
It's not dp fault his brother spent all his money.
He was so rude on the phone to him. And dp txt him and made a valid point. We aren't in the new place yet, he didn't want a deposit, and we hadn't set in stone we were go

Stom91 · 08/11/2013 14:04

Arghh!!
Goin to pay him so early.
I don't think any of this makes sense
But now I am bricking it and thinking it's all going to go wrong. And they're going to fall out
:(

clare8allthepies · 08/11/2013 14:17

Oh dear Stom he sounds like an arse! Have a good look at the tenancy agreement to see what your minimum period and notice period are and then look about for something else. As long as you're abiding by the terms then theres nothing he can do.

It's totally shit when people make out they're doing you a massive favour when in fact its the other way around - you're going to be covering his mortgage without him having to fork out for a letting agency.

Stom91 · 08/11/2013 14:34

Yep pretty much! And because we are family he didn't need to change his morgage (he he was getting other people in he would have had to pay to get it changed)
He just being a arse about. Dp even said to him your making this really difficult and BIL swore at him and said he wasn't. He is though! Lol. Things keep changing.
On the agreement it says it's for an unfixed term.
What I'm going to do is as soon as we've moved in is try and get on the council list. I didn't want to but I think that's our only choice.
It's just a pain. I don't want them to fall out but there no reason for him to be getting funny about it.
He even tried to get us to pay a full months rent when the first month we are only there for 3 weeks so we would have paid a week for him to be living there! So we told him that our rent is £150 that week and got him to take it off the first months rent (give us as extra £150 as leaders are takin the last week out of our deposit lol) but with the baby we are skit as it is. So that extra money will help as Decembers wages has to cover Christmas the baby and moving!
Sorry for such long posts.
Just annoys me. X

MildredH · 08/11/2013 15:03

Ugh Stom- it always seems like a good idea to do these things with family as you think there'll be extra trust etc but when it gets awkward it's so hard!

My brother is a carpenter and could have done so many of the jobs we've paid other people to do in our house but from prev experience I just know I can't deal with him if anything doesn't go right or if there's any disagreement.

Maybe avoid contact just for a few days to let both sides cool down. Although he's clearly being a prize arse falling out will make it so much harder to sort and the last thing you need at this stage is things falling through..

meandbumpy · 08/11/2013 15:04

So glad to hear you're being looked after Chelsea. Thinking of you lots and wishing you and bubs stay safe and sound.

To those that are suffering with constipation, you might already have tried it but, Lactulose is totally the way forward! Definitely ask for some from the doctor if you haven't already.

We got the keys to the new house today and I saw it for the first time as had trusted dp to do the viewing. It's a lovely place and loads of space too. It needs a damn good clean and a lick of paint but otherwise it'll do just nicely. We also have a viewing booked on our house for next week (only the 2nd viewing since July!) so I don't want to get my hopes up but it would be really really really amazing if they put an offer in.

I've had proper baby brain this week. Forgot dp's birth date, spelled my name wrong and got so overwhelmed by doing a food shop at Aldi that I nearly cried! I can't seem to get my head around everything that's happening and needs doing. If I think about things too much I start crying.

Abdominal/back pain is bad again today as bumps has been moving around and kicking pretty much constantly since 5am. It usually has a couple of hours rest in between bursts of movement so not sure what's gotten into it today. Having a lazy rest of the day now as it's moving day tomorrow and going to be a busy one. I'm not actually helping with the move but me and dp's mum are going to the new house in the morning to clean like crazy women before all the boxes and furniture arrives.

Hope everyone is has a good rest of the day and is feel well. Have read through all the posts but there's a bit too much for my mushy brain to commute at the min lol! Grin

Stom91 · 08/11/2013 15:21

mildred yeah you're right. It seemed like a good idea he had a spare house we needed somewhere warmer. Etc. But he's jut being an arse about it and wants everything done now! We asked if we could
Move in sooner cos we move 2 weeks before I'm due and as I'm at risk of popping early it just seems abit fine! But he said no! So there wasn't much more we could do and no he's demanding the rent early!

Yeh dp texted him and think he's
Going to leave it now. He hasn't replies yet.
May have to get his dad to have a word.
It's weird cos when we handed in our notice I had a a feeling something would go wrong just seems
Too good to be true :/

Alyssa1978 · 08/11/2013 15:27

Thanks violet
Yeah loki that's the one in County Durham, I live about 10 minutes car ride from Peterlee.

So sorry about your bil being an arse stom

I hope it is mum lol I was a bit sad when I realised I will never have a girl but so looking forward to having my 3 boys as I'm definately not having anymore after this one.

Loads of tightenings and pressure today, I keep living in hope that baby will come early.

Has your labour stopped now chelsea glad you're getting looked after Hun. Xx

Stom91 · 08/11/2013 16:59

chelsea how are you now? X

Featherbag · 08/11/2013 17:14

Alyssa if you fancy an excuse to visit the Cadbury shop once we're over the newborn weeks I'm just off the A19 and can get to Dalton Park in about 15 minutes!

DH has just come in and is in a right huff because I don't feel well enough to go out for tea. Feel sorely tempted to tell him to piss off.

Alyssa1978 · 08/11/2013 18:25

feather that's brill and ill hold you to that Grin

Chelsealady · 08/11/2013 18:35

Updating you ladies, labour stopped but still keeping me in got to have a scan tuesday might have a blood clot in my lung:(

Breathing is heavy pulse is still high but feel okay ish x

Stom91 · 08/11/2013 18:37

Oh gosh chelsea sending you massive hugs xx Thanks

froubylou · 08/11/2013 19:04

Big hugs chelsea. Hope you feel ok and get some rest.

I have been to frankie and bennys for tea. Can't move now lol.

And I was rude to a woman in a huge 4 x 4. She was parked in the parent and child bit. So I asked her if she had forgotten her child. I would like to park in them at the moment but don't even with DD with me as she is 9 and too old really. Woman in 4 x 4 said she needs the space as she can't park it in a normal bay in case it gets scratched. WTAF?

DP dragged me away before I could sau anything else which was probably a good thing the mood I have been in lol.

But I'm now in bed with a nice trifle in the fridge and a lovely lie in.

Tomorrow will be a better day I'm sure.

WhisperMen · 08/11/2013 19:14

oh gosh Chelsea hope everything is okay.

we went to the cinema today and the trailers had the coca cola Christmas advert. I use this as a signal to start everything Christmas related so am happily wearing my santa socks, drinking hot chocolate from my rudolph mug and watching elf Grin

Stom91 · 08/11/2013 19:53

That's sounds awesome whisper lol.

Frouby if she doesn't want her car scratches she joy lent have bought it!!

Dp bought me some slippers. They are made out on duck feathers and it feel like I'm
Wearing duvets on my feel! So warm !! He's just gone to get fish and chips as he's had a crappy day and neither of us can be bothered to go shopping.
So we are having fish & chips and a slipper party haha

clare8allthepies · 08/11/2013 20:06

Hope everything is ok Chelsea

Feel like I'm finally getting somewhere, hospital bag nearly packed (with a list of remaining stuff on top should it need done in a hurry) last night we built the moses basket stand and put the buggy board on the pram.

Have blown up my ball so must start using it rather than lying sitting on the sofa all the time. All I need to get now are some moses basket sheets then think I'm sorted! Smile

Featherbag · 08/11/2013 23:23

Big hugs Chelsea, hope you're being well looked after!

Stom sorry you're having a shitty time with BIL, I'd never do business with family for this exact reason, luckily I didn't find out the hard way Confused

Stom91 · 08/11/2013 23:29

We wouldn't have done it but we needed a warmer house. And it's cheaper. All seems ok. BIL mis-understood and has apologised to dp.

violetbean · 09/11/2013 02:36

Hope you're ok Chelsea.

I've just woken up with the worst heartburn ever and there's no gaviscon in the house... and we have even run out of strawberry milk. Sigh. Trying to make it go away with normal milk, yogurt and ice cream. Bleurgh, feel rotten! Sad

PinkWitch803 · 09/11/2013 05:02

I hope you are feeling better violetbean

MrsShrubs · 09/11/2013 05:13

Hope you're ok Chelsea and violet

First time ever in my pregnancy I've woken and not been able to go back to sleep, been up for over an hour and am starving- so far I've had a introversion bar and a big bowl of fruit & nut weetabix and I'm still so hungry! Got my main baby shower today at my house too so could really do with the sleep

MrsShrubs · 09/11/2013 05:13

Nutrigrain bar* stupid kindle

PinkWitch803 · 09/11/2013 05:19

I have been awake since 1:30 and despite being shattered, I can't sleep :(

MrsShrubs · 09/11/2013 05:45

Nice to know I'm not alone!! Just so wide awake
