Thanks everyone, didn't want to butt in but scanned down and thought it would be nice to be a little less antisocial for once! I've had a fairly easy pregnancy in sense of major problems, my sickness didn't pass until 31 weeks but it has been an (almost) breeze since then!
Don't worry about OH complaints- I'm first to make them in most cases (although he does try his best!).
Alyssa I hope your headache goes and stays away, I think I've been lucky as I used to get loads pre-pregnancy.

froubylou · 06/11/2013 20:34

Hello beth.

I am raging at DP and DD right now. DD has been teary all day. Something has probably happened at school such as a fall out. She is also tired. And at 9 I think we are starting to get hormonal.

I have made a fuss of her. Asked her if she can tell me what is wrong. Asked her if she can tell nan or daddy or auntie Sarah. Just keep getting big sad eyes and tears. Ran her a bath and said to have an early night. I'm knackered too so we went up at 7pm. I get out of the bath and she is in our bed with dp watching Disney channel.

Told her that she had until 7.30pm then it was bedtime.

She went. Then came back 10 mins later saying she had tummy ache. Then 10 mins later with head ache. Then DP says to get in our bed again.

She is playing up. Plain and simple. Because she knows if she turns the waterworks on DP lets her get away with blue murder.

I sleep in just knickers at the min so don't feel comfortable having her in bed. Plus the fact that I had sent her to bed twice. Plus the fact that I wanted an early night myself.

But most of all its the fact that I am being made to look the bad guy and get no back up when I discipline DD or even the bloody dog.

So now so I don't loose my temper with the pait of them I am downstairs fucking fuming and for the first time in months gasping for a cigarette and a glass or 2 of wine. DD is in my bed that I hurt my back changing so I could have a nice early night watching the fucking Disney channel and DP is playing the hero by pandering to her preteen attention seeking behaviour.

And in the morning she will be difficult. And hard work after school. And I end up being the bad guy again.

I hope this baby comes before Xmas. Then DP can do a fortnight of dealing with the stropiness. Grrrr.

BohemianRaspberry · 06/11/2013 20:56

Hey beth - I'm also 12/12 Smile

stom my DH is working late too and his tea is in the oven. I knew he would be late but not this late. Ah well.

First day of maternity leave and feel like I've done a full day of work - could actually sleep for a week now.

Molly28 · 06/11/2013 21:21

hi beth I'm due 12th as well! 35 weeks tomorrow.

although we all seem to be going through it with our partners its reassuring I'm not just being unreasonable!

Chelsea so sorry to hear about that, here if you want to chat.

I'm getting impatient for my 36wk appointment, want to know if baby is still breech!! I think they're head down now but who knows!!

Chelsealady · 06/11/2013 21:21

I am better off alone if he cant even give me a valid excuse for leaving me. Just scared about doing this alone and i know i will get the stereotypical look now with people knowing my age and knowing im a single parent. I just have to focus on bringing her up the best i can...

Mums no help shes alcohol dependant wouldn't trust her to look after my hamster let alone my child. Dad drifts in and out of life when he wants and the only one left is my brother hes 8 so not much he can do.

Really cute of him he saw me cry earlier and started crying two so i said dont be silly and then he came into my room with milk because that always makes him feel better!

Stom91 · 06/11/2013 21:35

Aww chelsea you brother sounds so cute bless him. He's trying to help.

The least he could have done was give you a reason
Here if you need to chat and you're welcome to join the Facebook group too. Jut message me a link to your profile :) it's easier to charge pictures and things on there :D

BohemianRaspberry · 06/11/2013 21:48

chelsea - speak to your midwife about all this - she can hook you up with some support networks for you so you don't have to go through this totally alone. Where I live they have special clinics for young mothers where you get extra care and help.

molly good luck

DH home! We had tea and it wasn't too overcooked

meandbumpy · 06/11/2013 21:57

Hi all and hi to the newcomers.

Been finding it hard to keep up with everyones posts as I'm staying at dp's mum's this week in between moving so am a bit disorganised. Hope everyone's doing ok and feeling well.

Chelsea so sorry to here about your dp. Hope you've got people around you and you're looking after yourself. Stay strong x

Been to register at the doctor's today and also booked in with new midwife. Finally got my bounty pack from Boots too and the lady that served me was lovely. She updated my points card to get the 10 points per pound and also gave me a voucher for next week that will mean I'll get £12 worth of points if I spend £50. Boots is probably too expensive to shop at all the time but I think it's worth waddling into town next week for a one off shop.

Woke up in the night in absolute agony with the abdominal and back pain that I get. I can't stand to sleep on my side anymore it's just too painful. I feel bad because of the dangers of sleeping on your back but I need to let my rib cage stretch and relax through the night. My front stings and feels like it's on fire and my back is like one big knot. It's constantly painful and the relentless pain keeps driving me to tears. I know it's normal for your rib cage to get stretched but it's so bloody painful! Can I ask everyone to will my baby to drop soon and give me some relief please?!

On the subject of dp bashing, I've lost mine to the new COD game the past 2 nights. I can't explain how much I hate xbox, makes me rage!!

I remember you were talking about names the other day. We're thinking of either Martha or Pippa for a girl and think we like Edward for a boy, but that's because I think it would be cute to shorten to Teddy. Boys names are difficult!

Roselau · 06/11/2013 22:13

woah, i finally get to sit down, it's 2pm here and I have a whole day to catch up on!

pink the removal cie is not taking responsibility. they said: we told you it would be 8-10 weeks until your stuff arrives in the US, but that didn't include customs. uuuuugggghhh - all hidden in the small prints ovbiously. anyways, let's hope baby stays put until at least mid december and hopefully we'll get our stuff by then

welcome beth glad you decided to jump in.

alyssa i'm glad your DP apologized and he's making you dinner. i would've slapped mine and probably left the house.

chelsea i'm so sorry to hear. others are right you're better off without him if he's going to act like that, but I know there is not much we can say right now to make it better. thinking of you xoxo

mum I'm pretty much all bump too. my scale is in the shipment so I dont know exactly, but two weeks ago I had gained 8kg, so i'm probably at 9kg right now. but I feel massive let me tell you. went to yoga today and the difference from last week is huge - I can barely move!! baby girl is growing so fast - at 32 weeks she was measuring 35.

BTW - do you think if she measures bigger, I will come into labour earlier? bump is still really high though (but I'm only 33+ 4)

liz you're making me panic with that list! i have a few things in the shipment and wanted to wait for that to make an inventory and go get what i'm missing, but now i'm worried now that she will come before it, so I think this afternoon I will drive to the store and just get a bunch of stuff, keep the tags on, and return if I don't need it...

been working craigslist and garage sales and got some great deals. bunch of clothes for $5, a little tub for $7, a bouncer for $10, coffee table for $12 and a dining table+ 4 chairs for $200. some stuff I don't want to buy used like car seat, crib, mattresses, etc so i'm trying to save where i can... dont have a crib yet, but got her a little travel cot that she can sleep in for the first few weeks at least. so we're getting there!

DP is also working really long hours - and when he does make it home for dinner, it's only to go back on his laptop after and work until midnight plus on weekends. So i feel really bad, and I try to make sure he has absolutely nothing to do around the house. before he started his new job in the US, he had 4 months off, and I was working (and pregnant) and he did that for me, so i feel like i owe him the same. but yea it's getting a bit harder to move so some things I just can't do. he's the best though and would do whatever i asked really. he doesnt really show his emotions, but one evening we were talking about the ultra sound 3D picture and how real she looks on it, and he told me that he has it scanned on his computer and was actually looking at it that day. it made me cry for 20 minutes because it was so sweet that no matter how busy he is, he thinks about her all the time. poor guy, he thought he'd say something wrong hahaha

Featherbag · 06/11/2013 22:25

Forgot to over share earlier - anyone else getting mega painful need-a-poo signals? I had to actually pull over yesterday and go into a dodgy looking pub to use their toilet, as all of a sudden it was excruciating to raise my left leg and I was worried about changing gear safely/suddenly! It was THE most awful pain! But after I'd scuttled through the bar (packed at 1130am, that kind of bar!) to the loo, done what I needed to and scuttled back to the car (all while avoiding all eye contact) the pain went completely!

Featherbag · 06/11/2013 23:02

violetbean · 06/11/2013 23:28

Hi Beth, welcome to the thread!

Chelsea, hope you're ok. Big hugs!

frouby, sounds like DD and DP are not appreciating that you're heavily pregnant and need your rest, in your own bed! Hope they come around soon. Brew

I've been so tired today, hoping to get a good night's sleep, long journey tomorrow to go to a distant relative's funeral. Confused Not sure what to wear either but hopefully will find something suitably sombre.

Un-MNly hugs to all, not long to go now.

Kitten3 · 07/11/2013 08:23

Feather

I would say the only thing missing from your list that I can see are slippers!
I am having a Cs too- I don't really want to take the slippers I wear at home into hospital so am going to buy a pair of cheapies that I can discard.
I also only plan to take in one small towel as I didn't have a shower while in hospital for last one until I was home a day later after Cs.
Your list sounds great by the way!

Kitten3 · 07/11/2013 08:29

Oh yes, take more than a few plastic carrier bags for dirty laundry. You may want several so that you can separate baby stuff from your stuff. Also, your stuff may have 'degrees' of grime. Less dirty stuff can go in one bag, other stuff into another- if that makes sense.

I am also tempted to take in food to snack on- someone on another thread mentioned something along the lines of lactulose? Think Cs meds can slow down your system so you can end up constipated within days (happened to me last time).
I may just up my fluids- take in a water bottle or two.

Kitten3 · 07/11/2013 08:32

Ah, finally, there is one pet hate that has really upset me recently.

How is it that on a crowded bus a woman who is 8 1/2 months pregnant is not offered a seat??!
Isn't it just common decency to offer up your seat to those that clearly may need it. I always offered my seat up to old/disabled/pregnant/young children.

Clearly city workers must really need their seats. Grrrrr.

Featherbag · 07/11/2013 08:43

kitten I distinctly remember buying new slippers, yet they aren't in the bag?! Thanks for that, now I have time to look for them. I'll add carrier bags too - they're an endangered species in our house, DH is obsessive in his hatred of them and I get the 3rd degree if I get caught coming in with one, having forgotten one of the myriad cloth bags he keeps buying!

MrsShrubs · 07/11/2013 09:31

featherbag that list is amazing!!! Also I'm with you on the 'when I've got to go, I've got to go' front at the moment it's so annoying and embarrassing.

meandbumpy my DH bought COD last night so I think I'm about to become an xbox widow for a few nights. Don't know when he thinks he'll have the time to play it with the shifts he's working at the moment.

rose they are some great bargains! Keeping everything crossed for you that your stuff arrives before baby does!

kitten I get that with the train too even with my badge on people just ignore it, I got pushed out of the way the other day because some guys need to get on the train was obviously more greater than everyone elses, cannot wait to finish commuting for a while from next Friday!!

How often is everyone's little one hiccuping? Mines getting them at the least 2 times a day, feel so sorry for him!

Featherbag · 07/11/2013 09:49

OMG, 36 weeks today! When I first found out I was pregnant never in my wildest dreams did I hope to get this far! Makes me hopeful about getting to CS date - in just 2 weeks!!!

violetbean · 07/11/2013 10:08

mrs, mine gets about two sets of hiccups a day too.

I've found standing very pointedly with bump almost in someone's face helps get a seat - or falling on them when bus goes round a corner... Grin Sorry to hear you've had a bad time with it, kitten.

DH is on leave and we were going to have a lovely lie-in today. Then at 8.15am as we were fast asleep the doorbell went and we both jumped out of our skins! Argh. Was sad reason though, a cat got run over on our road and they were asking if it was ours (it wasn't, we don't have a cat). V. sad. Sad

Alyssa1978 · 07/11/2013 10:22

frouby there's nothing worse when you want/need an early night and that happens. I hope you at least got into your own bed soon.

bohemian congrats on getting to maternity leave Hun, I find I'm doing more housework now though lol.

chelsea you will be fine honestly, my ex left me and 2 weeks later moved his best friends wife and her 2 kids into his house and played daddy to them and a boy from a previous relationship also not his but wanted nothing to do with our son. They rushed into getting married and having a son of their own and i wanted the ground to swallow me up i was so embarrassed, but everything happens for a reason and I'm with dp now and soon to have 3 beautiful boys together he will always be ds1's dad
I am now grateful everything turned out the way it did, or lord knows how my life would be now.

meand I was in tears last night with my stomach, my right side also stings and I can't get comfy unless on my back and I know its bad too as I can't manage that for long either as I find it hard to breathe only problem is my bump has dropped way down and I'm still the same but don't despair Hun, it went away with ds1 just not with th rest of my pregnancies.

feather impressive list Hun, I'm gonna have another look at it later as my mum and aunt have just arrived so must dash.

PistachioTruffle · 07/11/2013 10:50

Chelsea, what a crappy thing to go through, I'm so sorry the moron has done this to you at such a time but he's shown you you deserve better Sad Please don't worry about people judging you as some sort of stereotype, those that will are not worth your time or effort.

I am in SUCH a bad mood today. I'm so so tired, I didn't sleep well, woke multiple times with random crazy dreams and felt exhausted. I tried going back to sleep this morning and having a lie in, but I couldn't drop back off and everything is sore and achey Sad I have a few days off thankfully, but mw today and health visitor tomorrow so I'll be busy anyway!

Chelsealady · 07/11/2013 11:07

Woke up this morning soaking wet. Went toilet and had lots of discharge then blood after i wiped. I called midwife told me to come in also havent felt baby move since 8.30 which is not normal for her. Put a pad on just checked the pad no more blood should i still go in?

froubylou · 07/11/2013 11:08

Morning all

Went stomping up at 9pm, evicted DD to her own room (she never wants to sleep in our bed, just wants to watch TV in it as she only has a DVD player in hers), growled at DP that he was a nobhead and when I say no to DD or send her to bed I don't actually do it for the sake of it.

He was very sorry so I must have been fierce lol.

Then the silly boy woke me up at 4am (I'd just fallen back to sleep after a 3.30am pee) to ask if the baby was kicking. He had his hand across my tummy and baby had the hiccups. He then wanted to chat about it as he hadn't felt him hiccup before. Sigh.

Then his alarm went off at 5am. So not a good nights kip at all with the 4 wee breaks, hiccups and his alarm. But its OK cos when the baby is here I will get my own back lol.

And then I've just nipped into town for a few bits. Had a meltdown because I needed 2 plates to join the living room carpet to the new laminate and 1 to join 2 sets of laminate and I couldn't find both in the same colour.

So stomped round Tesco's for some bread and milk and when I got back to the car some fucking wanker in a white van had parked so badly that I couldn't get my door open. I'd have struggled getting in if I were a size 0 never mind 8 months bloody pregnant.

So had to climb over from the passenger side which wasnt easy.

Think I need to go to bed for a couple of hours lol. I'm not fit for company!

Chelsea I had DD by myself. Her dad is a complete and utter waste of skin. You will be fine and it's easier to be single with a baby than in a shitty relationship. DD does see her dad every other weekend, but he has never paid CSA for her and although I am happy for her to have the relationship with him my DP is her daddy in every other way. She calls him Daddy (we've been together since just before her 2nd birthday), he dotes on her and he is a far better father than the accidental sperm doner is.

Make sure you find out about all your benefits and stuff. I am pretty sure that you can claim a £500 sure start grant if you are on a low income and it's your first baby. Is there a SureStart centre near you? Pop in there and see if anyone is available for a chat. If not try and make time for an appointment with either Shelter or CAB. They are both very good at making sure you get all you are entitled to and you will need every penny with the new baby and also when you get your new flat. I'm sure you can get help with furniture and stuff. Try all your local free/cheap websites and ebay pages too, and stick a wanted add on if you can for what you need!

I had fuck all when I had DD. Was living at my ma's too (left my job, house, everything when DD was 3 months old) and had a cot for her and a double bed. By the time I got my bond and stuff saved up for the house I am in now still I had everything apart from a washing machine! Wardrobes and the spare bed, some chest of drawers and a fridge came from a friend who was doing her house up. The sofa (leather 3 piece suite, v.posh and plush) I bought for £20 off a house clearance man who had been told to take it to the skip!, curtains and bits and pieces I was given and all my kitchen stuff I bought bit by bit.

You will manage sweetie I promise. xx

Feathers that list is awesome lol. And makes mine look shamefull! I have 2 nighties, a pair of slippers and toiletries for me. 5 x vest, 5 x babygro's, 2 cardigans and a blanket for baby. A pack of nappies, cotton wool, wetwipes, breast pads and maternity pads and thats it pmsl. To be fair I'm not due for another 6 weeks yet and will finish off bit by bit. DP has been shown where knickers/bra's/clothes that fit me at the moment live so he can always grab me more stuff if needed. We're only 10 mins from hospital by car, plus my friend has a key for the house and can also bring stuff up if needed.

Just had a huge sticky bun and a coffee to give me enough energy to pop this load of washing in to dry, pop another load into wash and do these few dishes and the kitchen floor. Then I am taking myself to bed for the rest of the day!

Baby must have liked the sugar on the sticky bun though, he's now doing some wrestling in there I think.

froubylou · 07/11/2013 11:09

God x posted with you Chelsea, get yourself in sweatheart. Even if its for a check up!

And let us know how you get on, sounds like you could be on your way. Take your bag and stuff with you, do you have a friend who can go with?

violetbean · 07/11/2013 11:20

Definitely go in Chelsea, hope everything's ok. Thanks
