Can anyone recommend where to buy nursing bras from? Iv had a look but i really need some with underwire as i need support!

kchapper5 · 30/10/2013 21:33

Evening guys, just caught up :) Even though i've got ages to go, i'm starting to panic as I don't seem to have got anywhere near what we need yet. Im hoping as me and DP are both off friday, that we can go and buy nursery furniture, and nappies and other hospital bag stuff, which means most of it.
:)

Alyssa1978 · 30/10/2013 21:33

Lol chelsea I take 2 small cases like the hand luggage ones you take on the plane, one for me and one for baby and that way you're not rummaging around the same bag for everything.

Oh and I'm taking my vibrating breast feeding pillow.

I get my bras from mothercare x

MollySJ · 30/10/2013 21:47

Vibrating breast feeding pillow?? Link please!!

Stom91 · 30/10/2013 21:49

Thanks alyssa very helpful I'm going to save that haha
I'm also going to stick some underwear and t shirt in for dp just incase it's the middle of the night etc

Does anyone know about these formula starter packs and where I can get them from do aptamil do them?
As that's what I'll be using at home ( don't hate me, I've been to the bf groups and stuff and as guilty as I feel I just can't do it, mw is fine as I'm all clued up etc like I said I do feel guilty but I jut can't do it. Nothing against those who do tho!)

Alyssa1978 · 30/10/2013 22:00

Lol stom yeah I used aptamil starter packs with ds2 after bf failed, you can get them at boots and asda Hun.

I got my pillow from asda living its a bright star and has a pocket in it with a battery operated thing that makes it vibrate

Alyssa1978 · 30/10/2013 22:08

Don't know how to link it properly sorry but that's the one I have x

LadyMedea · 30/10/2013 22:09

From here to maternity - www.fromheretomaternity.co.uk - Has the widest selection of bras I've seen and fast despatch. You should be ok with underwires once your boobs settle down but make sure you get a soft one to start with as you could really do some damage to your milk ducts when your boobs are first engorged. I'm roughly 38GG (at the moment) and have bought the soft carriwell nursing bra in XL for starters, then I will get something more fitted when I know what's what.

I bought a bf pillow today! Was going to get one from asda, but had to take DS into Mothercare to buy new trousers (and then put them on him as he weed all over the ones he was wearing, little darling) and on the sale table was a fleecy adjustable height bf pillow reduced to £12 from £45! Must have been meant for me, as I'd been going to call into asda on my way home and buy the other one!

Stom91 · 30/10/2013 22:22

Could be a stupid question. The starter packs do they have the cold? Or do you warm them up? Sorry this is completely new to me! I'd use them for the hospital them buy the powder for home x

AngryByrd · 30/10/2013 22:31

Hi Guys!

I was on this thread before as 'QueenofWhispers' had to go away for a bit due to being super busy with work. Hope it's okay to join back in! x

MildredH · 30/10/2013 22:42

Hey Queen/Angry

How you doing? Wondered where you'd got to..

PinkWitch803 · 30/10/2013 23:25

I bought my maternity bras from figleaves. I have two non wired and two with flexible wiring

Roselau · 31/10/2013 01:44

hm so I just got a call from the dr office this afternoon to tell me that he wants me to take the full glucose test (the one that's 3 hour fasting, taking blood every hour) because the results came back a little high. Has anyone done the follow-up test? I had not heard of it before.

I don't want to have GD! I have been indulging in the nutella a bit much, but I have a healthy BMI, am relatively active and try to eat healthily most days of the week (although I fail sometimes).

I'm also freaking out a little bit because I'm already 33 weeks pregnant, so it's really late to catch it and I hope I haven't harmed the baby too much!!! also I will have to drive there by myself, fasting, and back after that glucose awfulness that makes me feel sick. It stresses me out to no end to drive in this city, and the Dr office is pretty far. My DH has been driving me the last couple of times, but this time I can't ask him to take the whole morning off! anyways, speaking of which, since I had the car today, I now have to go and pick him up from work.

hope all you ladies had a nice day and are catching some zzzzz

qumquat · 31/10/2013 04:14

Anyone else still struggling with sleep? I am going mad only one hour so far tonight and running an all day rehearsal with 30 teenagers starting in 5 hours. I just can't cope! Came off anti depressants earlier in preg and was so proud of myself, but wondering if this is what has caused the insomnia- my anxiety levels are through the roof. I'm awake all night worrying about work (even in half term), then work is predictably disastrous as have had so little sleep! (Took me 3 hours to mark 7 books yesterday). The kids better behave at rehearsal or I will burst into tears on them!
