DP has abandoned me AGAIN. his bloody day off and he agrees to work 9-3. I swear he likes being at work more than being with me recently.

I have just had a pretty embarrassing moment. I was hoovering and cleaning the flat in my underwear because I didn't want to get my clothes dirty. I completely forgot I had opened the bedroom curtains. The bedroom window faces out onto a very popular busy main road. There is always someone wandering around. I have just been flashing my self to a group of students whilst dancing like a loon.

BohemianRaspberry · 30/10/2013 11:48

sorry mean the appointment was good, hard going but okay - mainly reassuring me that I can make other friends and that I'm not as isolated as I think. The main thing is to keep busy.

dizzy I'm with you on the guilt feelings too

And I will be busy the next few days as the builder has covered everything in brick, plaster and general dust ... but still it's all worth it: we've had a wall cut through and the kitchen looks mahoosive now. Only problem is that the Oyster is under all the dust sheets so I can't play with it.

whisper if anything says anything just get really snotty and yell "Does the sight of a pregnant woman scare you THAT much!"

Hello all
MrsShrubs Glad you're ok. Good to get checked out though.

We are getting new windows done but the only week the window people can do it is the week before my due date. Am I mad in agreeing to this? They said they would start with our bedroom (where baby will be). I know it's close but if we don't get it done then it will have to be in February some time and I've heard it's going to be a freezing winter and our current windows are really draughty. wwyd?

Finish work next week and cant wait to be off and finally have some time to prepare for little one's arrival.

Like Chelsea said, I can't wait to start hearing stories of arrivals! Wonder who will be first? How exciting!

Chilli81 · 30/10/2013 12:53

Whisper the image of you cleaning in your underwear with passers-by watching made me laugh!

clare8allthepies · 30/10/2013 12:58

Chilli I would get it out of the way, if the worst comes to the worst and the baby is here before the room is done then you can always put them elsewhere, do you have a moses basket or carrycot? DP was ill just after DD was born and I spent a couple of nights on the sofa with her in the moses basket next to me.

froubylou · 30/10/2013 14:28

Pmsl whisper. I once flashed my tits at the old (very devout muslim) man who lived next door. I went to shut the window before I got in bed. My bedroom windows look out onto some woods and it was late so I didn't expect any one to be around next door.

Felt awful because he was on his prayer mat and looked so peaceful and serene til I flashed my f cups at him.

Off to hospital shortly to have placenta and liqueur checked. Could do with a nap instead though.

WhisperMen · 30/10/2013 14:38

liqeur? that sounds like fun Grin

LadyMedea · 30/10/2013 15:07

Always baffles me why they call if liqueur rather than fluid...

OP posts:
froubylou · 30/10/2013 15:13

I thought that too whisper lol.

Until I got here and the receptionist told me it is the consultation doing all my scans now. Bit worried about that to be honest. Wasn't too concerned before.

And I am pretty sure he is sideways on again. Sigh. Norty baby determined to be a pest before he is even born lol. Might ask consultant to do a full growth scan again while I'm here. Last one was only 6 days ago but if they get same sort of measurements it takes human error out.

WhisperMen · 30/10/2013 15:23

liqueur sounds like alcohol. Much more exciting than fluid!

ooh I hope everything goes okay frouby

itsliz · 30/10/2013 15:47

Chelsea the first 'baby's on the way' story is unfolding as we speak, over on the Facebook group!
The lovely stinkerboo (who's only posted on here a couple of times) was induced today and has been keeping everyone updated.
If anyone wants to be part of the FB group, best to contact Whisper or stom Smile

Chilli I'd get it out of the way, too. It hopefully won't take too long and once it's out of the way then you won't have to worry about it. Besides, you'll be glad of it when it's freezing outside and you're all cosy inside having newborn snuggles!

Got woken up just after midnight last night as people were banging about upstairs and discovered the power had gone out in our building. The rest of the street was fine, so DP went out to investigate which meant we didn't get back to sleep for ages.
Everything was fine in the end but I was in a real panic as the only way to get in or out of our building is via a big electric gate with a code, and it occurred to me that if I suddenly went into labour or needed to dash to the hospital then we wouldn't be able to get out!
Completely irrational I know, but now that we're all getting closer, everything is starting to feel a lot more real...

Stom91 · 30/10/2013 16:23

chilli as others have said is get it out the way too. Then it's one less thing to worry about when baby is here.

Ahhh can't believe there is a baby on the way!! At the beginning it seemed so far away!

I've been on a proper prego rage today and I have no clue as to why! Fed up I supposed. Dp went and got £250 put the cash point and it got stuck and wouldn't come out!! Luckily the bank fixed it and they credited out account but was scary as that's all the money we have for bills etc so that worried me this morning.

I got angry at the postman for ringing to the door bell 3 times. I was on my way I just had to roll off the bed! Lol I got abit stuck haha.
We have no food so dp is going to get fish and chips tonight as he got paid today. So no cooking yay!

Going to go chill in the bath and see if I can get rid of this angryness! lol
My 4 boxes of nappies and my hospital bag arrived today yay! So if anyone wants to share they hospital bag list with me I would appreciate it!! :D

violetbean · 30/10/2013 16:25

Argh, hope you guys don't mind if I have a mini-rant!

We are having a bath put in which I have been looking forward to since July (not having a bath really sucks). Ordered one 3 weeks ago and they said it would be delivered within a couple of days. After a lot of chasing, it was delivered today... but it's the wrong bath! (doesn't have handles, which I definitely need!) Argh! The store manager just said 'call me back tomorrow morning and we'll sort it out'.

Also I have really bad pains in my pelvis when I lie down or sit in certain position, guess it's the start of spd Sad

Arghhhhhhhhhh! This sucks!

Exciting that babies are already arriving, have been following the story on Facebook and hope everything goes well for stinker boo. Thanks

Stom91 · 30/10/2013 16:29

violetThat's really bad of the manager! He should be sorting it out now for you!! What a goon!
I hope it gets sorted and you get your bath!

froubylou · 30/10/2013 16:56

Hmmmm, this baby of mine is a pest lol.

He is as I thought still in the same position ie breech. Because he is in a strange position (he is sideways on at the top of my womb with his head to the righthand side) it makes measuring things difficult.

However after the trainee consultant and the actual consultant had messed about for half an hour (giving me a panic attack) they decided that although he is fine my fluid levels are at the low end of normal.

Consultant also asked if I have a heart shaped womb (I have no idea!) as the position he and DD are in suggest that may be the case. A breech baby (according to Dr Google) is linked with low amniotic fluid.

Had a google and as long as baby is fine there is no real danger from low amniotic fluid. Did ask the trainee consultant when the other one had left if my fluid levels could effect the level of fluid around baby. She said no, but when she checked my urine said I was a bit dehydrated too.

Again, according to Dr Google my fluid intake can effect the amount of fluid around the baby. So have to make a real effort to drink more.

Also asked the consultant if she thought baby would move around by 38 weeks, she didn't think so in her opinion given the position he is in and the fact that DD didn't either.

So although my EDD is 20/12 I bet I have him at 39 weeks. Just hope it's not the 13th as thats a friday lol. Don't think our hospital does ELCS on fridays anyway, they all tend to be the start of the week. So he would either be around the 16th which would make me 39+3 or the 10/11th. Which would make me 38 + 3.

FOOOOOKKKKINHELLLLLLLLLL.

That sounds to close pmsl.

NomDeClavier · 30/10/2013 17:40

Sorry I've not been around for a few days - we had guests and I am knackered plus one of my clients has made their babysitter search function free so trying to work out strategies to promote it plus the usual end of month craziness.

So exciting we have a baby on the way! I don't think I ever managed to join the FB group. Need to get into a pc so I can send someone a message!

MildredH · 30/10/2013 18:02

Hats off to you Nom for having guests- I can't be arsed to even have anyone in for a cup of tea.. Means tidying and everything. Just arranging to meet people out a lot..

Molly28 · 30/10/2013 18:09

hi ladies, so my little monkey is confusing the midwife, she said she thought it was a head at the bottom but then said it could be a head at the top!! lol!

so at 36 week appointment they will need to decide if I need to be scanned! come on baby make it clear!!

Chelsealady · 30/10/2013 18:25

Oh wow first baby born...my friend gave birth today 5 weeks early today!! :D baby weighs 6.8lb and is healthy....she had a seriously quick labour had to call an ambulance and ended up giving birth to him in the ambulance outside the hospital!

Alyssa1978 · 30/10/2013 20:09

Congrats to your friend, that's a good weight for 5weeks early.

Chelsealady · 30/10/2013 20:43

I know, he looks massive in the pictures she sent me! Its scared me now considering im due 3 weeks after her original due date anything is possible..ahh excitement is taking over.

Alyssa1978 · 30/10/2013 20:48

Oh yes, they will come when they want to, I've got 4 weeks Monday and its so real now, I just wanna meet him Smile

Midwife appt tomorrow then a growth scan on Monday.

Chelsealady · 30/10/2013 20:49

stom was hoping you would share hospital bag inventory first as im confussed.com what to put it. All i have so far is nappies and still dont know how many to pack!

Chelsealady · 30/10/2013 20:53

alyssa How comes you have growth scans?? I also do but only because im 19, its nice getting to see bubba few extra times and also reassures me after having my mental breakdown before i go into the hosp every time. I always get this feeling something is going to be wrong and end up tensing up and shaking so much.

Stom91 · 30/10/2013 21:04

I haven't a clue! Lol Im putting about 10 nappies in

Some of them little toiletries for me nightie clothes slippers a towel
For baby a few baby grows. Going home outfit etc
I'm not sure what else lol

Aww I'm so jealous of all the growth scans I'm only had the 2 normal ones x
