Morning all. How's it going? Had your scan yet cookie?

Can't believe another weekend has disappeared without me doing the things I've been meaning to do for weeks. Where does the time go?! On Saturday I did some hoovering, went to the tile shop and then it was the evening. On Sunday I went for a quick walk in the frosty fields then went to the ILs for Sunday lunch, then it was the evening. Surely something else must have happened, because I know there is 24 hours in a day and that just doesn't add up!

Blockette · 11/11/2013 12:24

Fox your weekend probably disappeared in those moments of sleepiness / dizziness and constant need for food that only hits when you are either busy or are ment to be busy!

That's where mine goes!

I can highly recommend ice cream for breakfast, not only did it soothe our throats but it also got rid of the stinking mood I've been in all week!

  • cookie truly jealous of the shag! I cracked and asked DH if he was scared of hurting the baby or something and he told me it was all my fault for being tired all the time, and he didn't want to get yelled at (as I said I've been a bitch this week) for waking me up. - so icecream in the morning - sneeky meeting room 'conference call' naps in the afternoon and I'll be on my way to a good seeing to in the evenings again Grin
mrsksays · 11/11/2013 12:49

Well it seems like it was a very shagalicious weekend this weekend!

lumpylumps · 11/11/2013 12:49

I don't have that attitude to all pain cookie. Just labour pain. It's a worthwhile pain. One that's achieving something and going to result in the most amazing thing ever. Think I'm a bit hormonal today cos just typing that and thinking about what we're all going to have in just a few months has made me cry!!!
I don't have that attitude towards this spd. That's a pointless pain. Saw the physio this morning and I'm now on crutches!!! On the upside, being off sick over Christmas is looking more and more likely!!!

My fil is still in a bad way. He's giving a good fight but doesn't really seem to be making much progress! It's awful. I try to keep my nurses head on cos it keeps me from really accepting what is going on but it's in danger of slipping!!!!!

mrsksays · 11/11/2013 12:53

Hang on in there lumpy - my nan was in a really bad way for about a month over Xmas and Jan last year but she pulled through and she made not quite a full, but all things considering, a really amazing recovery. It really was tense for a few weeks though - thinking of you.

CookieDoughWhore · 11/11/2013 12:56

Lumpy, you're having it so tough at the moment. Wishing you some peace very soon Thanks

Foxy, your weekend sounds positively frenetic to me (I have no life). I missed the shuttle to the hospital and so the scan is now on Wednesday morning.

Blockette, ir wasn't so much the shag I craved; more the attention and desire of my fella. I was feeling a little unlonged-for.

FoxMulder · 11/11/2013 14:22

I just went for a proper walk! Up a hill! All 784ft of it. There's a nice viewpoint at the top, but on a day like today that was well in the clouds so I could see nothing. Nonetheless I sat on a bench and ate my butty & imagined the view!

CookieDoughWhore · 11/11/2013 14:29

You off work, Foxtrot? Nice effort.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 11/11/2013 14:36

CDW, yes I guess I was reasonably fit before pregnancy.

Glad all was well with your scan Pain.

MrsK, given that almost everyone seems to recommend a different pram I can't see why your DH would expect you to go with SIL's recommendation. SUrely it should be obvious that different prams suit different people?

Sorry about your FIL Lumpy, I hope he starts to improve.

FoxMulder · 11/11/2013 14:41

No, just went in lunch hour (OK, so it wasn't really a proper walk as it only took 70 mins including the eating part).

That's disappointing about the scan Cookie. Ah well, at least you can look forward to Wednesday instead.

lumpylumps · 11/11/2013 14:50

I've just made 5 meat pies, 2 apple pies and 7 mince pies (left over pastry!!) Never made pies without my mum before! Ready roll pasty is fab!!

FoxMulder · 11/11/2013 14:59

Nice work lumpy that's very productive.

I have about half a million envelopes to stuff this afternoon. It's not exactly what I had in mind when I decided to go to uni Smile

MummyPig24 · 11/11/2013 15:00

Aww lumpy I'm sorry your Fil is still in a bad way. It must be horrid to see.

Today has passed by in a blur and now I have to go and collect ds. Time is running away from me.

MummyPig24 · 11/11/2013 15:04

I want a baby jogger city versa. Just need to persuade dh now.

FoxMulder · 11/11/2013 15:22

I'm so glad I'm getting a second hand pram from a friend so I don't have to think about all this!

BakingEating · 11/11/2013 16:22

Ok, so I'm going off on even more of a tangent today. 11th November is the start of Karnival in this part of Germany, so there are lots of people on the train home this evening in fancy dress and looking rather the worse for wear. One of them, a reasonably fit youngish guy, is fast asleep opposite me in a bunny rabbit onesie, unzipped to the waist... and I'm totally, 100% transfixed by his third nipple

mrsksays · 11/11/2013 16:42

BadlyWrittenPoem I was basically taking the piss out of her as she is very much a "my way is the ONLY way" type of person and I know full well that Bugaboos might be the trendy popular brand but they are by no means the hands down "best" (as she was claiming - without room for discussion!)

I'm not going to undermine her opinion or make it into a competition but with her being 8 weeks ahead of me she is kind of getting to certain decisions before me (naturally) and I don't want to be in a position where if I don't agree with her opinion then it means I'm creating a drama. I just want to do our own thing.

He over reacted - he has since apologised. bless.

CookieDoughWhore · 11/11/2013 17:04

Baking! Take a photo and post it on your mumsnet profile.

Foxy, are you licking the envelopes too? Most university students are incapable of such tasks.

MrsK, tell her to cock off.

I love my mum dearly but if she sends me one more text in the vein of the last one warning me of the dangers to my baby of phenylalanine it will be the end of her role as grandma.

BakingEating · 11/11/2013 17:46

Argh, too late Cookie! Now over on the FB thread trying to work out who everyone is...

CookieDoughWhore · 11/11/2013 18:00

Hurrah!!

CookieDoughWhore · 11/11/2013 21:27

Baking, I'm the one with a moustache Sad

CookieDoughWhore · 11/11/2013 23:51

Shit on 'ere now, innit?

Blockette · 12/11/2013 09:22

Are we all on fb now? I think that's the problem, you start repeating yourself, and fb is so much easier ....

Blockette · 12/11/2013 09:25

If anyone is interested, I have left over birthday cake which I have found smuggled into my bag, and am working my way through! It's not even 9.30! What's wrong with me!!

FoxMulder · 12/11/2013 09:25

phenylalanine?

No, cookie the envelopes are self seal. I still haven't finished though.

Grumpy today. Think I have run out of the positivity that has been sustaining me for the last 2 weeks. I can't sleep on my left side, it is uncomfortable. Every day when I get dressed there are more and more things that don't fit anymore. And I am loathe to spend money buying new clothes. Also, my pelvic floor seems to have given up. Also my desk is a shit heap. Rather like my house. I have no food in the house and I don't want to do a shop. Also it is dead on here now and I need company. Also I have terrible grammar (I only got a B in English Language GCSE to my eternal shame).
