Gotta share the love!!

CookieDoughWhore · 12/11/2013 10:01

Blimey, Foxtrot, you need to give your head a shake by the sounds of it

CookieDoughWhore · 12/11/2013 10:02

Pirate, thinking of you today and hoping for the very best news. Hold tight, sweetheart Thanks

Rockchick1984 · 12/11/2013 10:10

Fox sorry to hear you're having a bad day - bring back the positivity tomorrow and let yourself have a day off from it if you need to. Oh, and buy some leggings and tunics that can stretch grow with you, and that you can breastfeed in so it doesn't feel like you're only buying them for 3 months use. And an online shop so you get food without effort. And take away tonight to cheer you up Grin

Diz I've got the midwife tomorrow, I seem to have more appointments than any other second timer so feel quite spoilt with them (every 4 weeks, then every 2 near the end). Going to see if she can refer me to physio for my hips - they weren't too bad yesterday but are sore again today.

Anyone else still getting random hormonal days? I had a good cry for no reason this morning - made me feel loads better but DH is now worrying that I'm losing the plot!!

FoxMulder · 12/11/2013 11:00

Oh ignore me, I'm just in a bad mood.

I hate spending money on clothes. It's just not something I like to do. It does not bring me any pleasure. I don't really get on with leggings. I feel too naked in them. I have a couple of pairs, but only for wearing under my trousers in the depths of winter.

An online food shop IS the effort of which I speak! Smile It's all the thinking about what we're going to eat all week that I hate so much. I wish there was a pill you could take so you didn't need to eat until the weekend.

That's really nice about feeling the baby move cookie. Every now and then I think I feel a kick when I've got my hand on my belly, but then DH puts his hand on my bump and it doesn't happen again.

I'm going away at the weekend. I caaaaannntt waaaiiittttt.

HotCrossPun · 12/11/2013 11:19

Howdy campers! I officially cannot stop eating. I've been really careful with my food so far and I've only put on 6lbs. Last night I got up in the middle of the night because I was so hungry. Ended up having a bowl of cereal and toast. I think this might be the beginning of rapid weight gain Grin

There are no supermarkets within walking distance of my house. Or I didn't think there were. Today on my way back from the bank I came home a different way and realised there was a farmfoods there that I'd known nothing about. Are people aware of how cheap Farmfoods is??? I got a punnet of grapes for £1 for fuck sake. Tis obscene.

In other news, my bump is FINALLY growing! DP couldn't stop starting at it when I was doing tan the other night. He said that in the space of 2 days its suddenly emerged. I was very close to blubbing Blush

Where are you off to this weekend foxy?

FoxMulder · 12/11/2013 11:51

Hiya Hottie lovely to hear from you.

I've really not been careful with food and I've put on a whopping 22lbs! I've never had to watch my weight, but this seems to have changed all of a sudden.

Nice work finding farmfoods. No shops whatsoever within walking distance of my house. Well, depends how far you're willing to walk I guess!

Off to the Yorskhire Dales this weekend. Not far, but just far enough to be 'somewhere else'. It's one of those groupon type deals. Was supposed to be for our anniversary, but they had no dates available then.

CookieDoughWhore · 12/11/2013 12:07

Foxy, can I give you a piece of advice? A warning? A withering fashion attack? DON'T BUY LEGGINGS. They are the clothing choice of unimaginative, uninspired chavs. No-one looks good in leggings. Not even supermodels like me. What do you mean you've gained 22lbs? Not according to your fb photo you haven't.

I am glad folks are now gaining weight (Hottie). I find it bizarre that a woman should only have gained 6lbs at 24 weeks, but then again I find all of this bizarre. Why are you applying fake tan, Hottie? Will you be appearing naked in the Vagina Monologues or summat?

I am thrilled with my pregnant body but my face and lesbian hairdo are really getting me down. I look semi-reasonable in make-up; without it I look grey, wizened and über-lined. I hate it. Now that I have been shorn like a lamb to the slaughter by that whore of a hairdresser I feel horridly unfeminine and, on a bad day, downright ugly.

CookieDoughWhore · 12/11/2013 12:09

Foxy, you might bump into Liz Jones of the Daily Mail when thy's up in't Dales, lass.

FoxMulder · 12/11/2013 12:14

OK cookie I will bear that legging advice in mind.

I was 62kg on booking in and now I am 72kg. According to Google 10kgs is 22lbs! I'm a bit confused by it all too because except for my little bump and somewhat fatter hips I'm not sure where it's gone. Maybe I've got an even layer of fat all over my body! Or a fatter head...you never notice when you're getting a fatter head.

I'm feeling pretty ugly too. I counter this by not looking in mirrors.

CookieDoughWhore · 12/11/2013 12:34

My new house has those hideous stick-on, three-part mirrors with wavy edges on the lounge wall. Wholly unavoidable and each third of mirror breaks my body up into equally terrifying foulness.

HotCrossPun · 12/11/2013 12:48

Cookie I lost a bit of weight in my first trimester but I've gained that back. So now I'm 6lbs heavier than I was at my booking in. I've just eaten a whole tray of thorntons caramel shortbread - I predict I will have gained half a stone by the end of the week. The tan was because I met up with my friends at the weekend that I haven't seen since I've became pregnant. I was trying to fake the pregnancy 'glow'. It didn't work, I just looked like I had a dirty face.

Foxy That sounds lovely. Is it a dinner bed + breakfast type affair?

dizhin79 · 12/11/2013 13:30

To add in to the weight debate I had only gained about 7lb then lost about 4.5lb 2 weeks ago, think it will all be back on this week as bumplet had a growth spurt! Blush

BadlyWrittenPoem · 12/11/2013 14:07

I am 22 weeks and have gained 17lbs which I'm pleased with as I started off underweight. First pregnancy I only got back up to my pre-pregnancy weight at 26 weeks so to me any gain is great.

Also got another month of ondansetron today so am feeling happy.

mrsksays · 12/11/2013 15:09

I'm also wearing leggings but with a jumper dress. Would NEVER wear them without buttock covering!

FoxMulder · 12/11/2013 15:18

Oh bugger, DH has just called. He's hurt his eyes plastering a ceiling at work & had to go to A&E to get them flushed out. Apparently he's scratched his cornea. He's been taken home & will likely be off for a few days. But his tight-arse boss doesn't do sick pay. Grr.

LyraSilvertongue · 12/11/2013 15:22

Surely as it's a work-related injury his boss should still pay him.

OP posts:
FoxMulder · 12/11/2013 15:28

You would think so, but alas no. He's sprained his ankle before at work and got nothing.

LyraSilvertongue · 12/11/2013 16:39

I'm sure that's not legal. Does he have a proper contract or is he employed on a casual basis?

Sticky toffee pudding and custard is an acceptable pre-dinner snack, right?

OP posts:
FoxMulder · 12/11/2013 16:46

He is a permanent employee, but God knows about a contract. He probably will have got one back when they hired him when he was 16!

Yes to the toffee pudding. I just ate an enormous doughnut.

MacD75 · 12/11/2013 18:37

Surely it's not legal for them not to pay sickpay for an accident at work? Mind you, wouldn't surprise me these days.

Can't believe you lot are standing on scales, no way am I unless the mw makes me, feel massive these days! I'm also sick of maternity clothes, I got some but they're polyester rubbish and after a day at my desk...well it's not pretty, I'm getting tempted to go with dh's t-shirts instead, least they're cotton and don't have huge plunging necklines. And my already massiver feet are now even bigger, anyone else seeing that?

In happier news, I saw a kick today, SAW it! Totally bizarre and very cool! Anyone else seeing movement yet?

BadlyWrittenPoem · 12/11/2013 19:55

Fox, I'm fairly sure that all employees are legally entitled to SSP - it's paid for by their national insurance contributions.

OwlinaTree · 12/11/2013 21:02

Pg leggings are soooooooo comfy. Wear with a dress or long sweater and all is good.

Was he supposed to wear safety goggles when plastering? That might effect company liability. There might be something about that in his terms and conditions. Like in my job I'm not allowed to stand on a chair, I must stand on a stool thingy so if I fell off a chair and injured myself I would be breaking the rules and could be refused pay.

OwlinaTree · 12/11/2013 21:18

fox forgot to say I hope your DH is OK. I'm not suggesting he doesn't follow the rules btw, just started talking about why someone might not get paid, but was a bit insensitive. Sorry.
