I know how you feel wallace, Im starting to think I'm never gonna have it, Why, oh why, wont he just come out, especially as all signs, BH, cramps etc have vanished aswell. Maybe I'll be pregnant forever like the elephant who is pregnant for 24 months. arghhhhh. I just hate not being able to do more stuff with my 2year old, she fell over yesterday and i couldn't even bend forward to pick her up, so had to scoop her up be her vest straps. 40+4

usandbump · 13/07/2006 08:56

Hello all

Well now 41+3 and seriously fed up, I never imagined that I would still be sat here at this stage Trying to keep calm but getting more and more tired through lack of sleep, feels like I'm carrying a baby elephant as his movements are really quite painful now and nerves are building the longer it goes on for. Can't even get out and about as walking is uncomfortable so just milling around the house.

Seven- you could ask for a sweep, my m/w said she isn't convinced they are actually effective and those they seem to work for would probably have gone into labour anyway but anything to get labour started naturally is worth a go in my eyes!

Sorry about the moan

Hello everybody
I'm a DH with orders!
Alexander Cameron was born at 00:52 yesterday morning weighing 7lb 13oz and is the cutest thing I've ever seen. Mum and baby are both well and back home out at ten yesterday morning, in fact Alex is in a sling with me as I type this while mum gets some well deserved rest. I think I've put on everything I should if not I'm sure I'll get a thick ear!!!

lilianna · 13/07/2006 16:52

congrats on the birth of your baby. Rest well and take care.

usandbump · 13/07/2006 16:54

Congratulations Puddy and her DH I'm thrilled for you x

Agalch- I was offered a sweep at 40+1 but turned it down and offered again at 40+6 which I accepted tho it didn't do me any good!

usandbump · 13/07/2006 16:58

Oh and thank you for the sympathy ladies, just telling myself I only have tomorrow to go and then due to be induced Saturday. Really wanted it all to start naturally but realise the most important thing is our LO arrives safely.

kbaby · 13/07/2006 17:36

congratulations puddy and what a nice DH you have. Take it easy.

Saw mw yesterday who said that im still 1/5th so the babies still only a bit engaged but its back is on my left side so in the right position.

No signs here but im not expecting any either as only 38 weeks today im just fed up of people asking me if I think its going to be soon. How should I know!

Another thing im fed up with is keeping the house tidy. Maybe its just me but I feel as if the house has to be in show home condition in case I do have the baby soon, ready for all those visitors. Im even cleaning the toilet and floors daily which I never ever do and my front door is spotless. I dont know why im bothering because by the time I get out of hospital dh and dd wouldve trashed the place anyway.

IamBlossom · 13/07/2006 19:15

Hooray Puddy and your DH, congratulations, great news, thanks so much for coming on and letting us know! I love the names.

God my DH doesn't even know how to turn a computer on never mind post a message on this thread, you'll all have to wait till I'm compus mentus (sp) to let you know when it happens this end!! He calls it t'interweb FFS, and considers all "chat room weirdos" freaks!! Very PC my hubby.......

Knackered today, spent the afternoon hanging around B&Q with my sister while she selected lampshades for her nursery, I must be mad. Must have looked miserable enough as I rested on a stepladder as a woman stopped and asked me if i was ok! Bless. I found going out with my equally preggers sister fun at first when everyone kept asking us when we were due and were we related, but now I wander off when the questions start, the novelty has definitely worn off.........

xxxxxxx

FirstAtForty · 13/07/2006 20:02

Congratulations Puddytat!! Top effort from DH on the posting front! Love the names too.

Laughed re the B&Q ladder Blossom, I had a similar experience when a Big Issue seller offered me her commiserations on my uncomfortable state one hot afternoon in town - I wasn't even buying the magazine (wish I had now)...

'Hanging in there ladies' - i'm so with you on bad moods, frustration, general misery... no sign of anything today again apart from some very pathetic period pains, and the hospital hasn't phone re induction. They won't give an induction date as they said they would only have to cancel me if it got busy, so they will only ring 'on the day'. Fingers crossed for tomorrow... will be 41 + 4. Though still can't really believe there's a baby in there and it will be out soon, you'd think after ALL THIS TIME the penny would have dropped. But no.

Agach - i've had sweeps at 40+5, 40+7 and 41+2. No discernable results apart from a show after the second one, guess they were all too early. Still at least it makes you feel like something MIGHT happen and helps to pass the time.

Fingers crossed that the steadily getting hotter weather doesn't reach the nightmare temperatures of a couple of weeks ago xxx

FirstAtForty · 13/07/2006 20:06

PS should mention that none of the sweeps I've had were 'proper' ones, they can only do that if you are dilated I think and they can get the finger through to the 'other side' to sweep the membranes under the uterus. With mine they just prodded the 'outer' surface of the cervix.

Straightforward · 13/07/2006 20:42

Hi girls - I'm still well and truly here too and showing no discernable signs of popping.

Congratulations Puddy and her DH!! We await the full story of Alex's arrival whenever you're up to it.

Saw mw yesterday and it turns out they've got me down as the wrong blood group due to some admin error (or something) on one of the tests. Glad I mentioned it, as she went white as a sheet and said if I had to have a transfusion I could have died!!! So she had to do another blood test today for verification.

I've got another appt next Fri when I'll be 40+2 (hoping I don't make it...) and she'll do a sweep then. Also I've bought in lots of pineapple, but not eating it tonight, as DH is out on the razz for the first time in ages and is already not drinking - really want him to have a good night without having to come home early!

39+1

IamBlossom · 13/07/2006 21:04

Hey SF, wondered where you were.

Oh please F@40 don't let it get hot again. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaagggggggggghhhhhhhhhh

Just watched David Walliams swim the channel, and got all inspired about getting back in the pool to get fit and back into my jeans. Yeah right, like I'm going to have time for that. Think I'll go to bed instead.

Night night.

jom · 13/07/2006 21:06

Well done puddy and puddys DH and welcome to the world Alexander Cameron

Hang in there all you overduers and enjoy the calm before the storm.
(39 + 3 today without much action happening)

sunita123 · 13/07/2006 21:10

Congratulations to Puddytat + DH and welcome to Alexander Cameron - love the name.

sunita123 · 13/07/2006 21:18

Still got very swollen ankles. To those who have had LO's already have your swellings gone down?

Am 39+1 today Hopefully by this time next week LO will be here. Getting loads of BH's and twinges that seem if they're the real thing but they get to 10mins and stop!!!!
So annoying. Fingers crossed that it kicks off for real.
Goodnight all - take care.

Suni

OldieMum · 13/07/2006 21:49

Sunita123 - my feet are still very swollen, nine days after birth.

Hi ladies, I'm new to mumsnet, can you add me to your thread? I'm expecting my first baby anytime now 40+2 today and am finding the waiting pretty frustrating. It's very strange waiting to go into labour as everyone seems to be very different - was woken up last night by very uncomfortable tightenings all at the top of my bump which I guessing are just v. strong BHs which I've had loads of. DH is very excited at every twinge and is impatient for things to get started but after a couple of hrs they wore off. Think I'll go for another walk to Tesco's and see if that gets things moving.
Good Luck to all those waiting for their babies!
