goodluck puddytat!

deblaca · 11/07/2006 18:05

Oh Puddy, how exciting - good luck!

Oldiemum - many many congratulations and welcome to Micheal. Sounds like you have a lovely big healthy baby there!

I've been achey and crampy for about 3 days now - and getting some serious painful "bouncing/pushing" on my "behind" - i assume baby is pushing down into my pelvis??
good luck ladies in waiting

usandbump · 11/07/2006 18:39

Good luck Puddy! Well done for posting mid-labour, very impressive, so exciting, can't wait to hear whole story!!!

Congratulations Oldie Mum, wonderful news, so happy for you.

Had a MASSIVE BH that brought tears to my eyes at lunch time, nothing since. Think I'm going to be here for ages yet. UsandBump, chin up, it's got to happen soon for you.....

Kbaby, get you with your rudie nudie shots! I think it's a great idea, I was just discussing with my pregnant sister this afternoon, that when you are this pregnant is about the only time in your life you DON'T wander round pulling in your tummy, including when wearing a bikini, so getting some prof shots done sounds like a great idea. Will they be a la Demi Moore?

jom · 11/07/2006 20:23

Congrats to Bumpy and OldieMum (bet you're glad of the c-section! Did they alert you that he was going to be so big?) Hope all is going well with you both

Good luck Puddy

jersey · 11/07/2006 20:35

HI good luck puddy, might be joining you soon!!!

Although to be honist after the 2 false alarms I am doubting myself at the moment . Help please those who have been there as I haven't gone naturally before. Been very achey/crampy all day (but have been off and on for weeks). Since 6:10pm have had contractions every hour, I think. Sorry but they feel like the ones I was getting during the last 2 false alarms and early on when induced, but worried its just BH messing with my mind. I'm 38+4 today.

Any ideas welcome please.

Thanks

jersey · 11/07/2006 20:37

Just to add not due another until 9:15ish is still every hour, but feel very period painy at the moment.

kbaby · 11/07/2006 20:52

Jersey - I guess the only way youll know for certain is if the time decreases between each one. I went naturally with DD and I remember writing the times down and gradually they went from every 15 mins to 5 mins. I dont think they were ever as long as 1hr apart. I hope im wrong for you though and it is the real thing.

IamBlossom -Yes theyll be nudie ones. Hopefully ill have a sheet or something to cover myself up with and I hope to god he can digitally clean up my belly button as I have 2 stretch marks on it. I want one also of DD hugging the bump. I kept saying last prgnancy that I wanted them done but chickened out and DH asked his friend who has presuaded me this time as its the last chance ill get. He's a friend mind which makes it even more embarrasing ill just have to remember to slap some fake tan on first.

FirstAtForty · 11/07/2006 21:07

Hi all - first, big congratulations to Oldiemum!!

And good luck Puddytat!!

Still nothing happening here... so it's bollocks so far to my midwife's full moon theory - as far as I'm concerned anyway!

Was trying to think positively about induction, i was cheered a bit when I heard that if they call you in for induction you just pack your bag, go in and you get to stay there reading magazines and stuff till you go into labour. At least there's some sort of certainty about that! No hanging about trying to labour at home (with relatives in attendance!), dithering about timing contractions and possibly getting sent back home again if you do go to the hospital. There - positive thought for the day.

Third and final sweep tomorrow (41+2).

Good luck everybody! xxx

usandbump · 11/07/2006 21:20

I like your positive thinking FirstatForty I think I will share that with you if thats ok? (hanging on to any positives at the mo I'm struggling now)

Have my fingers crossed for you Jersey x

IamBlossom · 11/07/2006 21:39

Yeah I'd agree with you there, Firstatforty, my worst fear is to be sent home (a 40 minute drive each way) to be told I am not advanced enough to stay in yet. Worked well with DS as i was 5 cms when I eventually went in, but this time SHOULD be quicker and have the worry that I won't make it in time if I hang around at home too long....induction, although not a ideal prospect, at least removes that fear...

KBaby, I think it's a great idea to have the shots done, and if it's a mate of your DH it might be easier in some respects. I'm far too chicken, though, and fake tan aside, having not seen my nether regions in a good 6 weeks, I'd be worried about flashing ALOT of unsightly growth in that area, major cellulite, chafing things and back fat. I am however, very proud of my stretch mark free bump and would agree it would be a fabulous keep sake. Have you seen that epidsode of Sex in the City where their friend has had them done and has mounted it in the bathroom? I think it looks fab.

Jersey, good luck honey, no fun having false alarms like that all the time, let's hope this time is the real thing. I woke up to back pain and hourly contractions with DS, so must have slept through the first bit, but as KBaby says the only way to know is if they gradually get closer together and stay strong....

Oh well its stopped again, getting fed up now. Seeing midwife today so see what she says.

usandbump · 12/07/2006 08:41

sorry jersey, it must be very frustrating. At least things are obviously happening for you albeit slowly.

I've been having 'a show'(?!) since Sunday it just keeps coming but nothing else, no pains/tightenings NOTHING!!!

41+2

jersey · 12/07/2006 10:52

Thanks usandbump, it is so frustrating! Wondering if they will let me be induced due to childcare problems as I can get my parents down if I know when it will happen, but at the moment its all hit and miss!

Hope you have delivered puddy looking forward to your anouncement.

jersey · 12/07/2006 10:57

Well DS just gone to sleep so must get the ironing done and clean the bathroom in case I do start for real as we will have the family landing on us when I do!!

Hi Girls

Just a quick report from here - had 3rd sweep this morning which was less uncomfortable than the second, hardly felt anything at all. Cervix much the same as last time, ie open 1cm on 'outside' surface, but not open all the way through so not dilated. No show afterwards this time (or 'bloody loss' as it's charmingly called on my notes ) - that has all but stopped now. Still getting the odd period type cramps, but nothing substantial. Also BH's, but no more than usual. Very boring.

May be called in for induction any time now - so could be tomorrow, the next day, the day after that, or the day after that...

How are you doing Usandbump, and Jersey? at 5.30am toddlers Lilianna - that's a whole nother ballgame to me moping around with nothing much really to do except feel sorry for myself!

Like the idea of bump photos Kbaby, think I might have a diy go myself (at just the bump bit, anything else is too challenging)!

Might take the bump to the pub tonight for a quick drink in the hope of tempting her out into the real world!

Take care everybody xxx

seven · 12/07/2006 20:00

40+3 bh have gone aswell now, dont think this baby is ever coming out, booking an induction on friday, at least I'll have an 'end' date! Not had a sweep is that common practice? or do you have to request it? Does it work?

jom · 12/07/2006 20:35

Hi Ladies with bumps!

I also had a false alarm on Sunday night (38 +6)/Monday morning and even kept DH home from work on Monday in the belief that it was the real deal. Period pains getting stronger with contractions as well getting slightly closer in time although it all just phased out in the end! Very disappointing but at least I know I'm booked in for my induction on Monday (my EDD) so it won't go on for ever as it did with DS when I ended up being induced at 41+5. As you say I would have loved to go naturally before Monday (still may do I guess) but at least you don't have to have the whole Is this it?/ when do I go in? thing when you're induced.

maewest · 12/07/2006 21:06

Due date still seems ages away (16 days). Went to yoga today and met a friend for lunch afterwards, sitting out in the sunshine, lovely. Am going to get measured tomorrow by NCT woman for feeding bra, hope I don't get too huge, worried I might have to push boobs round on some kind of trolley when my milk comes in

IamBlossom · 12/07/2006 22:10

Maewest my sister got measured yesterday and her feeding bra is 40g!!!!!!!!!!!!

jom · 12/07/2006 22:21

I got measured on Sunday and am now a 32E! I know that isn't that huge for some of you better endowed ladies but for moi who's used to being between an A and B cup, its humungus!!!

I'm off to bed now - good night all

Wallace · 13/07/2006 08:17

It seems like waiting for something that is never going to happen, doesn't it? Of course you know you will have your baby eventually, but it seems so far away!
