Was gonna post so I thought I'd follow wallace's suggestion of a new thread. x

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
agalch · 23/07/2006 20:01

Kayzed it does get better but it is a slog to start with.i found just latching her on was so much easier than the faffing around with steralising and powered milk etc. Each to their own but it did work.

I will have the same toe curling stuff this time round i'm sure and the afterpains will bring tears to my eyes too

I am due today wallace and i post oftenish so i'm still here!!!! not for too long hopefully

Wallace · 23/07/2006 20:05

[sorry] didn't mean to forget you!

Wallace · 23/07/2006 20:07

That was meant to be of course! My brain is like mush now. I hope you are not on this thread for much longer. Come to think of it, I hope I'm not here for much longer either - things definitly warming up, but who can tell how long to go!

NOOOO!!! Not the August thread - don't threaten me with that

I think there has already been at least one august baby arrived already - made me very jealous. I should be more patient, as I'm not due until Thursday, but I was a few days early with the other two!

agalch · 23/07/2006 20:21

For anyone who's left, have you got names picked out for your lo?

I have no idea what to call this baby at all.

I cannot go too much over my dates or my homebirth will be a no-no.

have tried the curry(last night and bugger all happening)

am having 2 glasses of rose and a bonk tonight and fresh ripe pineapple for brekkie lunch and dins 2moro lol.

So hopefully something might work.it bloody better after all that palaver.

take care all

xx

Wallace · 23/07/2006 20:26

LOL at 2 glasses of rose and a bonk! I'm sure it was a bit of nipple twiddling that got me started both times before, so may give that a try!

We have no idea about a boys name, but if it is a girl it is Daisy.

agalch · 23/07/2006 20:29

Oh well wallace i'm partial to a bit of nipple twiddling so i'll get dp to do loads of that tonight before the bonk lol.God iv'e had a glass already and i'm half cut!!! can you tell?
I am gonna look up baby names,it's harder if you don't know what you are having tho i think, don't you?

Hope it works

It is harder if you don't know what you're having - I would really like to have a name ready to greet the baby, but I don't think that is going to happen (if it is a boy that is!).

Getting lots of very strong braxton hicks that come regularly for a while, then stop. So I am getting there, but could still be days and days. I'm due to be induced on the 8th of August, but would like baby sooner, not least because I want to have a couple of weeks under my belt before school goes back (about the 15th?), and also have a friend's wedding to go to on the 19th.

HumphreysCorner · 23/07/2006 20:38

More congratulations due ladies-well done usandbump, Straightforward and JeanieG

Didn't have any afterpains-was dreading them but luckily they never materialised.

Good luck to you all still PG.

Kayzed don't think our du would welcome me with open arms iykwim? My mw will do a sweep on wed/thurs so i do have time really, just panicking a little.Im hoping the wine/sex will do the trick.

Wallace im in west lothian and our kids go back on the 22nd aug? don't know if you are different where you are?

I think if you know it is easier to pick a name. When i had a scan at 37 wks (to check for breech)the mw offered to tell me if she saw anything obvious but i said no cos i never knew with the other 3 kiddies.we don't have a boys r girls name so thats what i'll do until lo arrives, stay on internet till i find names.

Wallace · 23/07/2006 20:44

We're Highland - pretty sure it is the 15th, but must check! We broke up on the 30th of June, so that does make 6 weeks.

Wallace · 23/07/2006 20:48

Are you nesting at all? I'm not - the house is a tip (or at least heading that way) and I just can't be bothered. All the baby stuff is ready though.

agalch · 23/07/2006 21:00

We broke up on the 23rd of June and we are back on the 22nd August for sure but i know our hols are longer this time.
Nesting? not really but i do try to tidy up each evening and have dp hoovering too in case i go into labour in the middle of the night.Would hate mw's to come out to a messy house.

my conservatory is where the pools set up and all the action will happen so thats spotless lol.Need to clean/disinfect the pool again as dd keeps chucking her dolls in for a swim.

chelseaxxx · 23/07/2006 21:56

hi guys - didn't even know this thread existed, jus browsing as i am soooooo tired but can i sleep !? no!!!!!!! i'm due on the 31st and i can't wait, i am so hormonal now i swear dh is going to abandon me until lo arrives ! all my pregnant friends are jus poopin all over the place and some were due late august !
hope evryone is well and agalch - i hope you have blinds in your conservaroty

chelseaxxx · 23/07/2006 21:57

*popping not poopin ! hahaha

agalch · 23/07/2006 22:04

chelseaxxx, yes i do have blinds in there lol. is this your 1st baby? hope its not too long for you

chelseaxxx · 23/07/2006 22:13

yea it's my 1st and had quite a tough time - changing hospitals 2 weeks ago and having a tiny baby (apparently) plus we've not long moved away from my mum so i'm just an emotional wreck most of the time!!
have you had any hints of labour !?

agalch · 23/07/2006 22:57

Hi chelseaxxx, you poor thing.I have had no signs of labour at all. This is my 4th and i hope not to go too much over.

When are you due? And have you had any signs?

My last baby dd,whos nearly 2 was 9lbs 14oz and nobody ever said she was especially big so don't worry too much. How little do they think your lo is?
Do you know what you're having?

maewest · 24/07/2006 08:23

Welcome Chelsea - my first too, and the waiting around is hard to deal with isn't it

I'm due Friday and (TMI alert) appear to be really constipated just what I need. Had brief urge to clean the windows today - could be nesting? Also like algach I'm hoping for homebirth so keen to have a tidy house.

No labour signs yet, been having BH and occasional weird low down twinges in my lady bits, which are a trifle uncomfortable. Much to DH's delight, have been trying sex to kick things off. Quite enjoyable (if a little more ungainly than usual) but don't know if it's made any difference, maybe more nipple tweaks are in order

agalch · 24/07/2006 09:02

Morning ladies

Nice here again so gonna take dd and ds2 out to local heritage centre for a while.A walk may get things moving.

Maewesy you might find that when contractions start you will be at the loo in big way iykwim. It's happened to me every time before.
I have been having period type pains but they come and go so not a lot happening.
Dp had a couple of bottles of beer and fell asleep last nightwhen we were meant to be having a bonk so i am in a bad mood this morning with him.
He has gone to work feeling terrible lol.He will make up for it if i know him.He will come home with chocs and flowers and say sorry. Then i will feel like a bitch and we will deffo have a bonk tonight.

Have a good day all

xx

nixnoo · 24/07/2006 10:17

Hi ladies,

x

IamBlossom · 24/07/2006 10:33

Morning Ladeez. Still here Wallace. Hi Chelsea, welcome! My sister is due on the 31st too with her first, and she is very impatient, as am I due with my second on Wednesday.

Girls i really really thought it was it last night. Forced DH to have a bonk, Algach you inspired me so i thought come on then let's make the effort. How romantic eh? Actually very enjoyable and woke up at midnight with back pain and thought oooooooooh, hello!!! lay awake thinking right come on contractions let's get you started and was soooooooooooo sure! Then nothing. It's so hard to decide if you actually DO feel something or if you are just imagining it isn't it!

Went to a family BBQ yesterday and faced all the usual questions, no signs yet then? etc etc. Feel like the more I am asked the longer I will be, what if we are still sitting here in 13 days time? My hospital will let me go 10 days overdue before induction......

have just been to Tescos and bought a huge pineapple, going to get stuck into that today. DS asleep bless him, and then he can go off to school HURRAH while my sis and I go to the cinema to see Superman. I wonder if you get free cinema tickets if your waters break there....? or maybe just a bill for cleaning the upholstery...

Names are Toby Peter for a boy which we think it is from scan, but if by some surprise it is a girl, then either Molly or Ruby, although have decided I really like Bella.............

Hi Nixnoo, KZ, HC, hope you are all ok.

Bloss

IamBlossom · 24/07/2006 10:35

PS, re nesting I think I am as hoover at every opp. However, my angel of a MIL came up this weekend, and cleaned my WHOLE conservatory, and did all the ironing, bought me flowers and entertained DS. I tell you she can move in as far as I'm concerned.........
