Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
FoghornLeghorn · 18/07/2006 11:49

Hi Gals,
I don't think she has ever joined this board before but just wanted to post to say that my SIL gave birth to my nephew early this morning, emergency CSection, all pretty traumatic but everyone seems to be well now.
Benjamin bor 12.09am weighed 7lb 6oz .
Congrats to all you other July mums and mums to be - I started the Due July 04 thread so brings a tear to my eye, my DD turned 2 on Sunday. And congrats to whoever it was that had an Evie, I have an Evie too and she is absolutely gorgeous, great name

maewest · 18/07/2006 11:51

algach - saw mw yesterday, everything fine, although baby is a bit OP. Down here they don't deliver homebirth kit before the day, mw will bring stuff when it all kicks off. Have my plastic sheeting ready, birth ball, old towels and snacks (anglepoise lamp standing by ready for duty if needed). There is team of 12 on-call mw for homebirth, so luck of the draw as to who I get, but both of mine have said that they will try to be the one to come out to me if they are on call that day.

Just spending my time trying to keep cool, calm and relaxed for the next 10 days, due date inching closer

agalch · 18/07/2006 12:24

Maewest glad you are sorted for your birth.
I have 6 days till due date but i think i could poss go over again.I have a team of 13,4 of whom i know from my antenatal appts at the clinic. The rest have been coming to see me for a quick chat each day when they are the one on call.

I have lamp,ball,tens machine hired,stacks of towels too.God it's like a military operation lol.

Mw also suggested i have a changing mat near a socket with towels for baby, this is so they can suction/resucitate if needed.

really hope things work out for you(and me).Bet you end up going before me,i was on time with the boys and a week late with dd so it'll be sods law if i'm late this time.

Take care
xx

Many congrats to lilianna and HITC on your lovely little arrivals.

BF is getting better. Had home visit by a lovely mw who was really helpful and supportive. Still a bit engorged but getting there. Alex had his heel prick test and slept through it, thank goodness.

Been out for a walk to visit work this morning, as they break up this week. All the kids were great and asked lots of questions, I got asked am I going back to work yet as they're missing me. Alex got lots of cuddles from the other teaching staff and some more lovely pressies.

Hope all those of you still waiting are taking things easy in all this heat. Remember you still have a great excuse to eat chocolate ice cream

Wallace · 18/07/2006 18:29

Congratulations lilianna, and HITC xxxxxxxxx

I want it to be my turn!

IamBlossom · 18/07/2006 18:55

Totally knackered from looking after DS. Who has just kicked off after being put to bed. Sigh.

Congrats HITC!

Hello. Thought I'd let you know I'm still here after yesterday's false start. Was pleased to get lots of sleep last night at least, but am done in in this bloomin heat - and it's supposed to be hotter tomorrow! Well, if I go in, I'll definitely be in the pool from the earliest opportunity to keep cool!

Congratulations lilianna and HITC xxxxx

maewest · 19/07/2006 07:56

Congrats to HITC and mini-HITC

Nothing to report here - still hot, still pregnant...

agalch · 19/07/2006 08:15

Morning all

Why is it that now i'm on mat leave and don't have to get up i can't sleep later than 6.30am? What a pain!!!

The weather has turned here thank goodness,it looks cloudy and pretty cold. Will take dd out somewhere nice today as a treat before baby arrives.

I am having lunch out with my mum and a friend tomorrow too after my mw appt so gonna enjoy myself as i know i'll not be out for at least 6 months when lo comes along.

Have a good day all and hope you are not too hot

seven · 19/07/2006 12:53

Hello all, last time I posted was saturday compaining! I was very depressed with it all, downed a whole carton of pineapple and grape juice and got into the bath with my 2yr old daughter where we played tea parties! then once she was in bed, the contractions began!!! Yes hes finally here, I had to call dh from the gig and my best friend who was babysitting dd (hee hee) who came pretty quick! 7lbs12 of gorgeous baby! dd abit jealous but is being really good, tried the boob but on the bottle now and feeling much better. Good luck to all those waiting, OMG how much is it worth it!

Does your wee man have a name yet?
Glad things are going well.

seven · 19/07/2006 13:45

Oh yeah he's called Daniel, it was a quick labour and a great experience all around, all this time i'd been waiting for my waters to break (how it started with dd) but they did'nt actually break until just before he came out. Had a show the night before. Had said I didnt want anymore after all the 'waiting' but now after seeing him and the whole experience, want LOADS!!! so all you ladies waiting, I know its depressing but worth it 10 times over. Good luck and look forward to hearing your news.

maewest · 19/07/2006 15:13

You sound euphoric seven! - welcome to the world Daniel

puddytat99 · 19/07/2006 17:20

Many congrats seven and a huge welcome to Daniel

Have to totally agree with seven, it is all well worth the wait (even in the heat)

Had a lot better night's sleep last night. Only had to get up and feed Alex twice after him going down at 10.30 pm. Though due to the heat, he's slept for most of today. He's even already grown out of a few things Mainly due to his big feet!!!! DS (who's 12) is size 6 and DH is size 14, I'm only a 4/5, so guess he'll be taking after them

Look forward to hearing about some more arrivals soon. Everyone take care in all this heat.

kbaby · 19/07/2006 22:37

Congratulations lilianna - Being born still in the sack is meant to mean he will be very lucky in live, apparently.
Also congrats to seven.

I hope it cools down again soon. Im fed up of getting hot sweats all the time. Im also feeling sick and just out of sorts. TMI but I keep pooing all the time as well. I must be going about 7 times a day so much for the iron supplements making you constipated!
Hope we all get some sleep tonight

HumphreysCorner · 20/07/2006 10:35

Congrats to HITC and seven-excellent news ladies. Come and join us on the PN thread when ready.

((xx))

AggiePanther · 20/07/2006 10:57

Hi Ladies,
Just popped in to catch up whilst Libby is sleeping Huge congrats to everyone whose babies have arrived and good luck to everyone still waiting ...not envying you in this heat!! Hard enough to keep cool postnatally let alone 9months plus

IamBlossom · 20/07/2006 18:50

Imagine if paddling pools hadn't been invented. Nightmare!

I have lived in ours this week, bump turning a nice brown colour, shame it will be brown rolls of flab soon instead.

MAN this weather I can't believe it moan whinge etc.

Am now 39 + 1. If this was a carbon copy of DS's labour I would be starting tonight. Don't think that's going to happen though....am keeping asharp "eye" open for back ache as that's how I felt with DS but of course this one could be completely different. Have got what is hopefully the last midwife appt tomorrow morning......My sister is still hanging in there too, we were both in the paddling pool this afternoon, didn't leave alot of room for DS I can tell you!

Another hot night to come, hope you al get some sleep.

Bloss

39 weeks today. Bit cooler today, so may be out and about. Persuaded DH to take day off yesterday so that he could chauffeur me to the NCT meet-up, we had lunch just the two of us and met up with group later. Some of this pregancy lark isn't so bad, sitting on hotel terrace in the shade sipping cool drinks with a nice bunch of people. Altho have horrible feeling that I'm going to be last to have babe in that group. 3 of us left to pop, one has planned cs next tuesday due to breech. Oh well, just have to wait and see.

Went to see Pirates of the Caribbean yesterday evening (mainly for aircon - lovely!). Quite a lot of noise, so quite a lot of wriggling, but managed to stay fairly comfy throughout.
