So sorry for the sad news today.

To any of you suffering with sickness and struggling to drink, today I have found a lifesaver..... Jelly!!

MarlenaGru · 17/10/2013 17:51

Thanks so sorry to all the ones bleeding. Hopefully it will happen again soon for you all.

cheesysmile · 17/10/2013 17:59

So sorry Tanny and ladybird. PJen I so hope its just a bleed and not a mc for you. Flowers

Welcome and congrats to newbies.

I think im going to put on so much weight, been feeling really sick and only thing that stops it is food! Just got in and ate a packet of crisps followed by 4 crackers with Phili. Do feel a bit better now for it. Think im going to have to eat little and often for a while.

CleverOl10 · 17/10/2013 18:25

Welcome to the newbies.

So sorry Tanny and ladybird and everything crossed for PJen.

Hard to know what to say. Hugs all round I guess.

SicknSpan · 17/10/2013 19:38

what is this sickness remedy called jelly you speak of bezza? Which flavour?

SicknSpan · 17/10/2013 19:40

Gosh I wish I'd read the thread properly. So sorry ladybird and tanny. Fingers crossed for pjen too.

Bezzabelle · 17/10/2013 20:26

I know....who knew!! Strawberry or raspberry does the trick....think it helps so much as basically just liquid and its sweet so takes away the horrid taste. Melon is also a winner as is ice lollies, those are what kept me out of hospital last time.

giraffelegs · 17/10/2013 20:38

Hi everyone, I would like to join you. I've been lurking for a good couple of weeks now so thought I would finally speak up. This will be DC2 for me and my DD will be 2yo tomorrow. I had a mc back in May and have been dealing with luteal phase problems so I was just coming to terms with the fact that TTC might be a long road when suddenly, bfp! 6 weeks today so obviously early days but fingers crossed for a sticky one.

All my lurking means I've seen some of the sad news, I'm sorry that some of you have had to go through this and hope you will be back with good news very soon. Thanks

I have also noticed my older charter's anonymous buddy LadyGG on here! I have name changed since then so you would remember me as MrsP81. I have been noticing your awesome race times, I am very jealous. I'm 2 weeks away from a half marathon and everything has gone to pot as I am so tired and struggle to run very far at all at the moment! I need to come up with an excuse as to why I'm not doing it as I have been going on about it work for some time now.....

TinyTear · 17/10/2013 21:08

hello giraffe, you could always pretend to fall over and sprain an ankle... no one would expect you to do a half marathon wiith a sprained ankle

LadyGoneGaga · 17/10/2013 21:27

Whoop! Hello MrsP81/Giraffelegs - lovely to hear from you and congratulations! I had a little look in Conception to see if there was any kind of Charters thread going but didn't see one. Wonder if any of the other CA ladies might be going for another?!

(For the purposes of everyone else we were on a thread together what, 3 years ago when TTC the last babies!)

Just say you've picked up an injury - IT band too tight or Plantar Fasciitis or something. Something that sounds scientific. Or you could have a mystery virus that's made you feel sick and tired and think its best not to run.

Winglet · 17/10/2013 21:38

Hello folks.. Can I join? I'm a newbie to MN and pregnancy, due June 8th by my calculations.

I've read through the thread and sorry to those of you who had a MC, it's still early days Sad

This was my 4th cycle of trying, but it still doesn't seem real that there is going to be a baby of my very own by next summer!

seatfor5 · 17/10/2013 22:34

So sorry to hear the sad news today :( Hope your back on this side soon

Pjen Hoping so much that this is not the end for you xx

I too had GD in my last PG and had to inject insaline by the end so hoping that wont be needed this time!

Here we have the booking in at 10 weeks with bloods then the scan at 12 weeks and they use the data from both to determine the percentage for downs.

giraffelegs · 17/10/2013 23:05

Welcome winglet!

Yes, charters thread must be three years ago, doesn't seem like that long. Congratulations to you too LadyGG!

The trouble is with saying I have an injury is that I'm a terrible liar and I think everyone would see straight through it! A vague mystery illness might be the way forward I think. Smile

littlepickly · 17/10/2013 23:05

Hi all,

Always reading but struggling to find time to post - sorry to all with sad news on here SadThanks

Think I'm starting to feel the symptoms kick in, I'm 5+6, boobs are getting big like first time around - looked ridiculous and was a dead giveaway, also felt quite sicky earlier and have basically been eating my way through the day! Smile

I think someone mentioned about those of us on second baby feeling v.bloated and showing already - the last couple of days I have been so bloated and I think it won't be long until things start getting hard to cover up - I'm sure my constant scoffing isn't helping!

Still haven't phone docs/midwife - must do that tomorrow!! Blush I think they do booking in appt at 8 weeks here.

ElizaB3 · 17/10/2013 23:22

Ladybird & tanny very sorry to hear that. PJen I hope all the positivity from MN reaches you.
After the anxious monthly wait when TTC I wasn't expecting this anxious week by week countdown to the magic 12; there is a lot of patience required for this isn't there
Went to docs today with DH, I asked if she could confirm we were going to be parents; DH asked if he could have his ear syringed. odd couple

Emmazers · 17/10/2013 23:53

So sorry to hear about the bleeding. If it hasn't been confirmed don't give up hope! I bled a lot with DD1 in early pregnancy (was even told by GP that I was probably having a MC!) and she's almost 3 now. In fact this might sound weird but I wasn't sure if there was something wring this time because I haven't bled yet!

Will be thinking of all of you waiting to know. It's a horrible time! X

VickyVix · 18/10/2013 00:39

So sorry to hear sad news, big hugs to all those suffering Thanks

Welcome winglet :)

So, my not drinking tonight was a dead giveaway, my friend clocked me straight away. Hey ho, it was good to chat and share the worry with somebody that's been through it.

MarlenaGru · 18/10/2013 06:42

littlepickly I am 5 weeks today with number 2 and last night my belly was rock solid at the bottom and completely visible. If I sucked in the top disappeared but bottom stuck out even more. Last time I had no bump until well past 20 weeks Shock

MarlenaGru · 18/10/2013 06:44

vicky I have so many work dos in the next month with alcohol including my best friend's leaving do. I tried the have a drink don't drink it advice on Wednesday and I think I was ok....

GillyBillyWilly · 18/10/2013 06:56

Ladies I need advice!

I ended up having yesterday off work because I felt so sick all day and today has started the same way.

Just got out of bed to go to the toilet and have a shower and had to get straight back into bed... I feel so so sick I could cry! Tried eating some crackers and actually felt worse. Feeling dizzy and sea sick and horrible Confused

I don't like taking days off work but there's no way I can even get out of bed right now.

Has anyone else ever had to have days off work due to sickness during pregnancy? Probably a stupid question as I'm sure some of you have.
Hope my boss understands. Sad

littlepickly · 18/10/2013 07:23

Poor you gillybillywilly it's so tough when you feel that way - I don't know if this will help you but last time I remember going through a phase of not being able to get out of bed without eating digestives - I had to force them down but it definitely helped. If I didn't it I would practically pass out in the shower!

Not sure if this will help you but constantly nibbling seems to be very helpful at warding off the sickness.

If not maybe try some remedies - someone mentioned ginger tablets?

Hope you feel better x

GillyBillyWilly · 18/10/2013 07:38

Thanks littlep Smile
I think I'll try that. Just spoke to my boss who said to stay at home today or if I feel better come into work but take my time and don't worry... So that's good.
I think I'll have some toast and slowly start getting ready! Urrrghhhh.

adaloveslace · 18/10/2013 08:02

Gilly, sounds like you have a great boss - that's good. You may need to think about working from home a bit over the next few weeks. Will that be an option do you think? Take it easy on yourself - you and the baby are the most important things right now. I'm only a little nauseous, but I find lemonade is great, and things like melon in the mornings. Also crackers. Milky tea and coffee not so good, sadly. Try to find what helps and don't let your stomach get empty. Others will be along soon with better advice - I've managed two pregnancies without any real sickness so not much help.

littlepickly and marlena, I'm having my third and am only around 7 weeks, and I'm definitely showing. I have a distinct, hard tummy that gets bigger as the day goes on. My skinny jeans won't button up already.

adaloveslace · 18/10/2013 08:06

Oh, anyone else a weepy MESS? Things I have welled up at today include:
the new Bridget Jones book;
a Bruno Mars song (I hate Bruno Mars);
an email from a guy I don't even know in which he mentioned that he broke up with his girlfriend last week;
my son's sandals.

WTF?! Actually thinking about the sandals could get me going again...

MarlenaGru · 18/10/2013 08:34

I cried when I realised my husband hadn't cooked the mince he was supposed to on Tuesday and as it was now way past its BB date I had to throw it away. Annoying, yes. Sobbing material? No! Bloody hormones.

gilly I agree that you have to eat before getting up. I would feel so dizzy in the shower if I dared to get up without eating a piece of toast. So far I have just had mild waves but I know at only 5 weeks there is plenty of time for the all day sickness to hit! Now if the exhaustion could just go for a day or two... Feel so guilty yawning at my desk at 9 o'clock!
