Superlambana just Google private ultrasound your area. You might have to travel a little bit depending where you live.

My daughter was up early too.

LondonSuperTrooper · 27/10/2013 07:23

My son got up early too :(

I'm also worried about the storm. Really nervous but it seems that it's heading to my area tomorrow afternoon. Luckily my DH has a day off so he can keep an eye on the house whilst I'm at work.

MarlenaGru · 27/10/2013 07:24

I think we will have a surprise this time. I knew with DD and told everyone so we got inundated with pink gifts. Really kind of everyone but I probably would have been less for the pink if I had had a choice.

Definitely tell nobody your name until the birth. We mentioned our boys name to my mum before the 20 week scan and it caused a massive row because she told DH she didn't like it Hmm People are less likely to comment once he\she is born!

jaykay987 · 27/10/2013 07:55

We've decided not to find out the gender. It was always my preference.

please dont hate me - I have always pictured my children as one particular gender....I hate myself, but I fear I might have a fleeting disappointment (fleeting, maybe a second! Grin) if I found out at 20week scan and it wasn't what I was expecting (which obviously there is a 50/50 chance of that happening!).

All I really hope for is a sticky bean and a happy and healthy baby. Not finding out the gender will mean we have a great surprise on the day. Grin (plus I won't feel any guilt).

My main issue though....is looking around there are very few nice unisex baby things. Everything is yellow or white. Urgh! So predictable! Anyone seen any good stuff anywhere?

Names...we weren't going to even discuss it until after 12w as don't want to jinx anything. But Ive been keeping a list of ones I like since we started to ttc. We chatted Friday - our tastes are so so so different!!!!! At the moment I can't see how we'll ever agree!

Micasaestucasa · 27/10/2013 08:20

Morning all! I think I'm the only parent in the country who welcomes the clocks going back. DD has been going to sleep past 9 pm for the last 3 weeks or so (we put her in her cot at 8 pm but she chats and screams for over an hour). Argh! Haven't been able to wake her any earlier in the mornings because I feel like shite when I wake up.

We won't be finding out the sex this time either. I love surprises. And the names are top top secret. Big mistake to tell people in advance as everyone has an opinion and I don't want to hear it!

ohcluttergotme · 27/10/2013 08:20

Morning, my wee pregnancy brain can't cope with clocks going back. Ds got up at usual time of 5:40 so was really 4:40 !! Argh he is going to be shattered, maybe he'll curl up this afternoon and we can have a wee snooze together!
I didn't find out sex with either my ds or dd and for me there is something lovely about being handed your newborn baby and you just love that baby, the sex is irrelevant really. I feel if I had known for half my pregnancy I wouldn't have that lovely feeling on finding out the moment he/she was born.
Very personal though and that is just my feelings and experience Smile

littlepickly · 27/10/2013 08:21

Jaykay I find next and sainsburys are quite good or multi coloured neutral baby clothes - I'm not a fan of pink so my dd was often a rainbow coloured girl! She wore quite a lot of blue too Smile but her favourite colour is still pink now - argh!!

littlepickly · 27/10/2013 08:22

Or = for

LondonSuperTrooper · 27/10/2013 08:28

Jaykay I read further up the thread that you are doing slimming world. What do you have extra to allow for pregnancy?

jaykay987 · 27/10/2013 08:59

Thanks little.

london - sorry I did read your question before, but clearly forgot to reply!
No change yet to the plan. At some point they will allow me one extra dairy choice (I think). But think that'll be the only change. Not sure when that'll kick in.
I also have a form, as when I eventually see a midwife, I need to to get her consent to follow SW.
They've recently launched a new pregnancy and breast feeding SW site. Let me see if I can find it...

HannahC1989 · 27/10/2013 09:10

Why do they call it morning sickness when it can last all day? I didnt suffer a single day with my little girl now i think my bodys going into shock.
What helps everybody else? I cant cope x

bludgerwitch · 27/10/2013 09:31

Re: Swimming World and pregnancy, my midwife told me that their programme is endorsed by the royal college of midwives, so definitely a good choice.

I'm signed up to Weight Watchers online and she said there was no problem doing that throughout pregnancy.

If I ever go back to feeling like eating healthy food, that is - had my first proper hanging over the bog moment this morning and it wasn't pleasant. Hope this doesn't become a regular occurence. Sad

bludgerwitch · 27/10/2013 09:31

I meant Slimming World, of course. Dafty.

Lmf679 · 27/10/2013 09:36

Just found the most brilliant breakfast for my morning sickness. Bovril on toast! Not usually a fan of bovril but it worked. Been struggling as I've completely gone off any kind of cereal.

CleverOl10 · 27/10/2013 09:43

Lol @ swimming world bludger!

Penguin13 · 27/10/2013 09:54

Hi ladies. Could I get some advice please? My mw appointment is on mon, and I am hoping to either get a date for my scan or find out how I get one. I'll be 9+4 at that point. We're actually moving in about 2 or 3 weeks, within the county (bucks) but still just far enough to probably change my initial hospital choice. What I'm concerned about is that if I mention moving the mw might tell me to wait till I've moved to sort out the scan and like everyone else I am keen to have a scan as soon as I possibly can! Do you think I should just keep schtum about moving? Even if we had moved by the date of the scan it would be fine for me to travel to the old hospital. Thoughts?

LondonSuperTrooper · 27/10/2013 10:03

Thanks Jaykay & Bludger I'll try and join next week. I really need to watch my weight as I put an awful lot of weight on with DS and only lost half of it.

Penguin I think that you can state a preference to whatever hospital you want. In which case choose the one that will the be closest to you. Failing that, if keep quiet about moving. Good luck.

LadyGoneGaga · 27/10/2013 10:21

I think you'll have to tell them you're moving, Penguin, as they normally mail the scan appt to you ands you don't want it to get lost in the post. But maybe explain to the midwife you won't be changing GP's until after the scan? Sounds like you might not have moved by the time they'd do your scan anyway? Depends on how far behind they are at the mo.

cheesysmile · 27/10/2013 11:35

Penguin im hopefully moving next week so between booking in and scan. Not changing area but midwife said to change address after first scan. We'll do mail forwarding for a bit and she said if I haven't heard within 2 wks to call her as she will have the date anyway if it has got lost in the post. Hope that helps a bit.

superlambanana · 27/10/2013 11:49

I've got awful cramp and boobs have suddenly stopped hurting. I am so worried Hmm is this normal??

Liquidambar · 27/10/2013 12:20

superlambanana I'm the same today. My boobs are not tender and I'm not feeling any ms. I trying not to worry too much.

MyNameIsWinkly · 27/10/2013 12:22

super I think symptoms coming and going is pretty normal, and cramping is often just your uterus stretching and making room. I won't bother saying try not to worry, because you will, but I don't think it's unusual at all.

I have an incredibly itchy genital area. It's been itchy for about a week now, could it be thrush? Could it be a problem?

GillyBillyWilly · 27/10/2013 12:41

My symptoms definitely come and go. I am 7+6 today so exactly 8 weeks tomorrow.

Some days I have very sore boobs... Other days they are fine. I do feel queasy EVERY DAY at the moment though Sad

Penguin13 · 27/10/2013 13:28

Thanks for the advice ladies, just irrationally worried about doing anything that could push back my scan date.

super symptoms coming and going is definitely normal. Mine suddenly disappeared last week and I got myself into a right old state about it but sure enough the exhaustion is back today.

LondonSuperTrooper · 27/10/2013 14:16

I've started bleeding Sad
