Good morning everyone!

Luxurious breakfast in bed curtesy to DH who's also cleaning the kitchen at the moment :)

I don't have issues with drink as its a migraine trigger I've given up long time ago. Eating would be much bigger giveaway as I'm a bit of a foodie but currently sooo picky! I'm trying to avoid any avoidable dinners.

No plans for today, beds feels comfy, lazy me!!! To be honest id love to just hibernate until the scan and the end of ms!

MTMD · 26/10/2013 10:02

drama welcome! Wishing you a sticky beanie!

SarahAnderson · 26/10/2013 10:03

Just come from my GP for first chat at 5+6. (Although she thinks I'm 6 + according to her little spinny wheel thing... But did also say that it was impossible to be accurate until the scan as my periods have always been very random.)

She gave me tons of advice about foods, folic acid, which hospitals near me have good patient feedback for maternity. I feel very lucky that there is a brilliant new birthing centre at a great hospital only 1.5 miles from home, so that choice is really easy.

I showed her the weird itchy lumps I have on both feet and legs. Slightly annoying that she initially said they might be insect bites. (They aren't... They came up on both legs after a day of wearing thick opaque tights) but either way she didn't seem overly concerned about them and they don't itch as much as they were a couple of days ago in any case. She did say that I can't take antihistamines but can use a topical cream.

And then she sent me for a load of blood tests... Am sitting in the blood room now! Vitamin D and liver profile are the main ones.

All starting to feel real.

bee024 · 26/10/2013 10:11

Wow, feeling a bit odd today. Just light-headed and a bit wowy, started last night and put it down to being hungry/tired but still feeling the same today, still DH sleep walking during the night probably didn't help. Probably just low blood pressure, but don't remember this from 1st time round.

SicknSpan · 26/10/2013 10:43

Hello everyone, especially new folk! Further up thread there is a mahoosive list of us all and our due dates, if you'd like to be added please do copy and paste it with your details too.

Hyperemesis is lots better here today, first day in three weeks that I have been able to have breakfast (one slice of toast and homemade marmalade- was lovely!)
Anti sickness drugs are obviously helping and I've been even thinking about what the rest of a hg free pregnancy could be like, although they gave a side effect of making me feel stoned for for about three hours after I take them. Not entirely unpleasant I must admit.
Had early (8+4) nhs scan yesterday to rule out multiple babies being the reason for my sickness. Just one, phew! One unexpected baby is enough;)
I am still getting cramps aches from time to time thoug, similar to period pain. Anyone else?

Penguin13 · 26/10/2013 10:43

Congratulations on your new job littlepickly that's really positive that they were fine about you being pregnant, I'm sure your new team will follow their lead.

Oh no Gilly not a good start to the weekend. Hope your tummy settles down.

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/10/2013 10:56

Oh gilly I feel your pain, I've had the same and an incredibly sore tummy this morning. I haven't had much sickness but (tmi) it seems my daily tummy upsets are like morning sickness from the other end Blush

bludgerwitch · 26/10/2013 11:14

Oooh, Gilly and Winkly, here as well. They actually asked about it at the booking appointment, so it must be at least halfway normal but one of those unpleasant things people don't mention often. Blush

Magpie78 · 26/10/2013 11:19

Me too from about 3 weeks! Actually feels normal now Grin

Mitchell2 · 26/10/2013 12:04

Well I caved and had an early scan this morning. Loads of ovarian pain over last week so really needed to be sure all was in right place. Measuring 6 + 1 so smaller than initially thought. Over belly and a wee fluttering heart beat. Hurrah! Let's just hope the little bean decides to stay sticky :)

CleverOl10 · 26/10/2013 13:37

Having same issues as Gilly and those above. Agree with ms from wrong end lol! Glad to hear others are the same.

MTMD · 26/10/2013 13:56

I got my letters through and it sounds like my hospital is a bit of a last minute merchant. Midwife appointment - end of November (11 weeks + 2 days). Scan - beginning of December (12 weeks + 5 days). AGES!

wispaxmas · 26/10/2013 15:31

Gilly, clever, magpie, bludger, etc i'm with you! It's horrible!

I've been feeling sorry for myself as I've had it since pre-bfp! Must drink enough water to not get dehydrated! Sad

Stacks · 26/10/2013 15:49

I'm another one with ms from the wrong end! I tend to get it for a day or so before AF too, and when first pg with my DS, so I knew it was coming. Much worse this time and lasting longer. :(

With my DS I really wanted sweet things (though you couldn't call it a craving honestly, just a strong desire!) this time I'm wanting savoury. I also went right off tea with DS, and I'm drinking loads with this one. A girl on the way?

LondonSuperTrooper · 26/10/2013 16:24

Stacks I think I'm having a girl too. With DS I craved salty food with this one it seems to be sweet stuff. Plus I haven't been sick yet. With my DS I was heaving from 5 weeks.

I hope that those that are suffering with MS or otherwise start to feel better soon.

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/10/2013 16:27

So if I've gone right off sweet stuff and tea, and haven't had much sickness, am I having a boy or girl by that reckoning?

(I actually think I'm having a boy, because we dtd on the same day I ovulated, and apparently Y sperms are speedier)

LondonSuperTrooper · 26/10/2013 16:37

I've heard that too Winkly.
Is this your first baby?

MyNameIsWinkly · 26/10/2013 16:40

Yes, first baby if all goes well london

Stacks · 26/10/2013 16:41

To be 'scientific' I'd have to have a girl this time, then have a 3rd DC and see if the cravings for that one coincided to the right sex. DH says no more DC after this one though, not even for science!

LondonSuperTrooper · 26/10/2013 16:54

Winkly wishing you a sticky beanie. I'm a bit worried about this pregnancy too and it still seems unreal to me.

Lol @ Stacks :)

highlandfling10 · 26/10/2013 16:57

Hi ladies, I'm really suffering with MS too. Had it since the start but its MUCH worse at the moment. (I'm 9wks tomor)... Spent alot of yesterday at work in the toilet!! tmi...

I've heard that too about having a boy if you dtd right on ovulation, which we did. I have a 2 yr old DD at the moment and my symptoms are entirely different than the first time round. Have aversions to some of my fav foods, cant have mushrooms or broccoli. Can't really face cooking at the moment but I am sooooo ravenous most of the time too!

So weird!! LOL! Smile

noseymcposey · 26/10/2013 17:00

ok, sooo sick today :( Haven't had MS yet and wasn't really sick with DS either so am wondering if it's a bug? I felt quite sick yesterday but today I can't hold anything down at all.

Does MS feel different to a bug?

noseymcposey · 26/10/2013 17:00

am 7+4

wispaxmas · 26/10/2013 17:14

How your pregnancy goes has nothing to do with the sex, my SIL had two very different pregnancies, like night and day, and two happy and healthy baby boys! My other SIL had the same thing, just ended up with two gorgeous girls! My sister is having a second boy as well, and this time around it was very difficult for her, and she is also showing very differently as well.

Nice to wonder about these things. I have a feeling we have a girl in here, but won't find out until January.

Who plans to learn the sex at the 20-wk scan? Will you tell everyone? We will find out, but we don't want to tell anyone else. Same with names, we will let people in on our short lists of boy and girl names, but they won't know which is the one until b-day Grin

Noses, my MS is just waves of nausea if I get overtired or haven't eaten recently. Doesn't feel like a bug, feels more like a hangover. Not been actually sick yet, though.. Confused
