Yay wispa!!!! Smile

Eeee how exciting! Where did you go for it again?

MrsB2013 · 25/10/2013 18:17

Ahhhh Wispa how lovely! Must be great to know that's everything is ok!

bludgerwitch · 25/10/2013 18:17

Yay Wispa, it is so nice to see the little sproglet, isn't it?

I've put my picture on my profile page (and sent it to assorted grannies to be & best friends).

My BMI is quite a bit higher and while I knew it wasn't ideal they were very no-nonsense about it - I have a couple of leaflets, I have a referral to a weight management clinic for preggo people, but there was no lecturing.

Some of the advice is a bit odd, though, the leaflet suggest swapping full fat milk for diet lemonade - now, few people are drinking enough full fat milk to have any effect on their weight and level of obesity and I would argue it's better for you than diet fizz!

PJen · 25/10/2013 18:18

Congrats Wispa!!! However, you may want to crop that picture to delete your name and birthday out of it. :)

Liquidambar · 25/10/2013 18:18

ohh .. that's lovely wispa Smile

can't believe is already Friday! 7 days to my early scan.

cheesysmile · 25/10/2013 18:20

Ah Wispa so exciting. Did you see the heartbeat?

I rang Drs to book in for a flu jab today and was told that they don't normally do it until 20 wks so I should check with my midwife. This is despite their own and the NHS website saying do it at any point in pregnancy. Now I have to ring midwife on Monday. Makes me think they're just trying to save money. Also such a lack of consistency really annoys me! Grrr ... Sorry for moan!

ohcluttergotme · 25/10/2013 18:22

Aw lovely Wispa, and love your surname too! Grin

GillyBillyWilly · 25/10/2013 18:40

Haha yes I was going to say, we all know who you are now wispa! Grin

bludgerwitch · 25/10/2013 18:58

Liquid Get a picture! We should get a Junebug gallery up and going Grin

GillyBillyWilly · 25/10/2013 19:01

Stuff like this makes me change mind....now I want an early scan!!! Grin

26 days to go til my "12 week" scan (I will only actually be 11+2 though!)

I should wait.. I should wait...

PJen · 25/10/2013 19:05

Why wait Gilly? Its only 50 quid. Or is it me who doesn't mind throwing money to have a bit of insanity? :D

bludgerwitch · 25/10/2013 19:12

I'm not getting another scan until I'm week 20, that's January! Bah.

NessieMcFessie · 25/10/2013 19:15

PJen - have been thinking about you - glad to see your name pop up - fingers crossed for Monday! let us know.

Lots of exciting news on here - and I have been inspired to go and get my flu jab (although I guess I will have to make sure the Ukrainian flu jabs are pregnancy friendly).

Finally made it back from holiday - although had a wee bit of drama yesterday. Suddenly got awful cramps....fainted. Was dragged to docs by DH who didn't fancy getting on a flight with me in that state. So at 11pm last night was in a random Italian hospital - got internal ultrasound and saw a gorgeous wee heart flutter - measured at around 7 weeks (less than I thought) and due date revised to 10th June. Anyway - pain came from a couple of ovarian cysts which will need attention in due course - so nothing major thankfully. Horrible evening sickness just made it all worse.

So up at 4am this morning for a flight....which was then delayed 6 hours. DD in an airport for 6 extra hours - it has been a long day! Got lovely little pics of sticky bean.......an extra bonus!

GillyBillyWilly · 25/10/2013 19:18

I just think I should wait but I don't want to! Not anything to do with the money... I just feel most people manage to wait til 12 weeks so I should too! Grin

Plus my mum and sister both said to just wait... That an early scan could give me false hope of even be an anticlimax if there's not much to see or hear etc...

Arghhhh!

Anyway I'm going to paris on Wednesday and back on Saturday... Then away in Devon with family til the following Wednesday (6th nov)... Then I'll only have 2 weeks to wait... Eeeekkkkk

Hope I can cope!!!!!

GillyBillyWilly · 25/10/2013 19:19

Ps hope you're well PJ!! Smile

Magpie78 · 25/10/2013 19:29

Hello all! Must be a day for early scans, had mine today privately at 8 + 5. Saw little one move and heard heartbeat. Am going to attempt to put a picture up on my profile. Eeeeeeee so pleased

MTMD · 25/10/2013 19:30

I'm still determined to wait for NHS scan. Even though I don't even have a date for it yet... 12 wks baby is much more baby-like so might be even more special when we see it with DH.

Also I might be a little scared to see something's wrong. Or worry more about the little beanie having seen it!

I got a day to day pregnancy book from amazon today and our baby looks more like a dragon than a human baby at this stage :) :)

Magpie78 · 25/10/2013 19:36

Have put picture up think you should be able to see in my profile.
I wish I could relax for the 12 week scan but was just getting myself in such a tizz!

NessieMcFessie · 25/10/2013 19:39

Dragon baby! Grin

VickyVix · 25/10/2013 19:40

Ah lovely pics wispa and bludger :)

Looking forward to seeing your pic shortly magpie

I'm now counting down the days until I get a letter through the post with my scan date - I'm so impatient and all this waiting is so frustrating!!! Worth it though

NessieMcFessie · 25/10/2013 19:41

Gorgeous pic Magpie!

bludgerwitch · 25/10/2013 19:42

Oooh, Magpie, lovely picture! And it actually looks like a wee creature, pea pod looks just like a blob - we can't even tell whether she's upright or what, though the doctor assured me she was waving her arms about....

noseymcposey · 25/10/2013 19:42

I've had an early scan in the past, but am (probably) waiting till 12 weeks this time because they are all £100 in my area and that is too much for me to justify spending on my impatience!

I think there can be good reasons not to have one aside from that, but I would dispute that there is anything anticlimactic about a successful early scan! There isn't as much to 'see' as at the 12 week scan but for me seeing that little flicker on the screen was wonderful. Having said that I was very very anxious in my first pregnancy (i.e. cried myself to sleep at night because I was sure I'd miscarried because my symptoms went away) Just my opinion obviously! Pros and cons to doing it or not doing it :)

noseymcposey · 25/10/2013 19:44

And congratulations to those who have had scans today. So pleased to hear they went well :) I was only sick twice in last pg and both times were on scan days.. as both were very emotional days. Bet you keep looking at your pictures :) :)

Magpie78 · 25/10/2013 19:50

Thanks all, have just been so worried was such a relief! So glad everyone got lovely news and piccies today.
Think the image is good because was transvaginal as apparently I have a retroverted uterus, was pretty funny when I started crying when I saw it and she couldn't pass me a tissue as both hands were on the probe. It's not going to get any more dignified from this point though I suppose! Grin
