Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
prambo2thereturn · 12/10/2013 20:30

Yes, Lyra, go home. I wouldn't normally say that but your argument is a little too convincing.

Mummy, being woken up by a man is a hanging offence in my gaff

BadlyWrittenPoem · 12/10/2013 20:44

Thanks for the sympathy about my symptoms - they're much better this time than the previous times.

Lyra, sorry to hear you are in hospital, it sounds worryinging and like the hospital are not being great - I'm hoping you're out now and that all is well.

Magpie, it sounds like you must have had a horrible experience - I would suggest telling your MW that you are very frightened about birth due to a previous traumatic experience and seeing whether there is someone you can talk to to discuss your fears/reassure you/look at your options.

Weight gain, I weighed myself the other day and I'd gained 1lb/week since 13 weeks which puts me at a total gain of 11lb at 17 weeks. TBH I am more worried about not gaining weight due to both my pregnancy history and the fact that in the two gaps between the last three pregnancies I was losing weight and generally struggle to gain/keep weight on. I also deliberately try not to weigh myself sooner than three weeks after the last time because the variation in gain/loss when weighing weekly can be discouraging but it gets averaged out if I wait longer.

lumpy, fresh blood is supposed to be more of a concern than old blood so I wouldn't say panic but I would say that it would be sensible to get checked out just to know for sure.

Coolhand · 12/10/2013 20:45

I agree Lyra go home. I hate hospital wards - no sleep whatsoever. You'll get much more sleep at home and you can go back in if you're concerned at all

BadlyWrittenPoem · 12/10/2013 20:46

Just seen that bloods etc have come back clear - I think in your shoes I would be seriously considering going home too Lyra.

liberuna · 12/10/2013 21:03

Never wake up a sleeping preggers! Im sure that's in the top 10 rules.

Lyra you know they're only looking out for you. Can oh bring you anything to make it a little more comfy?

Pram sorry to hear about Damien. Sounds like his games are a lot about control. What he can get away with but I know you've mention before the about dad's over compensating sometimes. Getting him involved with his new sibling is going to be interesting.

Ive just spent the day looking at prams (the joie travel system looks awesome) MIL has offered to buy woo hoo! And ikea for some inspiration for babies room.

Now suffering from heart burn from swedish meatballs.

Antenatal classes- I'm going fir the social aspect and to chat with those that have had experience. Dont have any friends ( where's that violin) Smile that are in the family way so need to build up a network. Listening to you guys is awesome, as it brings up a lot of topics didn't even think if.

Yeah! Finally got back on. can you tell ive been missing you guys? Thanks & Cake for all.

Beccadugs · 12/10/2013 21:05

Lyra hope you got to go home.

Pram well done with Damien. Sound like the macdonalds thing is possibly a seeing how far he can push it thing?? Hope Horrid Henry didn't give him any more ideas!

I've had a very successful day. Met my friends new baby (3 weeks, so sweet, all my delusions about baby poo blown out of the water YUCK!!)

I also went shopping with an £80 budget. I got 3 tops, a dress, 2 pairs of leggings and 2 pairs of tights. I also had supper out, and bought my zone 1-6 travel card!! One of the dresses I saw full price in Mamas and Papas at £38 and didn't but it a few weeks ago! Today £18, so pleased, and love it!!

PainAuxRaisins · 12/10/2013 22:19

Bloody hell Lyra - what a day! Was catching up on today's thread and getting really worried about you but glad to hear things sound like they're getting better. If you only live 5 mins away surely they'd be ok for you to sleep at home tonight (but I guess trying to find a Dr on a ward at the weekend to discharge you can be hard). Hope you manage to escape tonight!
Lumpy hope you're feeling ok too.
Very tempted to get one of those halloween T-shirts with the baby skeleton!

lumpylumps · 12/10/2013 22:53

Thanks everyone. I'm not panicking quite as much. There's been no more and no, I have no pain other than the usual that I'm suffering atm. I'll give the mw a call on Monday.

lyra hope you're okay. I'd want to go home to. What are they going to gain by keeping you in??

SuperMuddle · 12/10/2013 23:21

lyra, what an awful time you've had. I'm glad the tests etc have come back negative and you're feeling better, and hope you managed to get discharged so you can get some sleep. I'll be thinking of you. Have some Thanks

mummy, although I fully understand and agree with your reasons for wanting to kill your DH, I would say that murder is generally frowned upon in polite society, plus it tends to cause a mess... Grin

rescoonetwothree · 12/10/2013 23:38

trying to catch up! sorry for essays/long posts in advance Blush !

high forceps - pram basically i just will under no circumstances whatsoever (if you know what i mean) have them used, which others may find cruel (which i do understand).

lyra oh bloody hell missed this!! hope you're feeling better now though and dp is waiting on you!

movement - wonder i felt movement once or twice (flutters) a good few weeks ago - at least i think thats what it was, but only this last week or two felt definite movement (I'm now 19 or so weeks) which feels a bit like flicking(?) and its only every so often so i wouldn't worry!

placenta/lotus births - lyra & magpie I'm having it made into pills haha! lotus birth, the idea doesnt bother me but then again I'm ingesting mine... just personally would rather not!

weight - I've put on loads more these last few weeks 5kg ahem, i think your body must retain more or something because i haven't been eating THAT much, and its all concentrated on my boobs and bump, I'm no bigger elsewhere really! as long as you feel ok in yourself try not to worry to much prammo you look great!

LyraSilvertongue · 13/10/2013 00:38

Still in the hospital. Would have had to wait while they found a doc to discharge me so thought I may as well stay, plus they said I'd get my scan early tomorrow.
DP is on his way after a hectic day at work.
Good news is I've discovered they don't kick partners out after birth here. Nice to know that he can help me with lifting the baby etc after my likely CS. Partners are welcome 24 hours. I've had a wander around, looked at the birthing rooms with pools that I won't be using and had a chat with my friend who's a healthcare assistant here. She was very surprised to see me Grin Our eldest sons are best friends so I know her well.

Becca, was is bf poo or ff poo? There's a big difference. Bf poo is yellow and smells like yoghurt.

Thanks To you all for your support. Today has been more boring than worrying after the tests came back ok.

OwlinaTree · 13/10/2013 01:37

Glad it's all looking good lyra, great news.

pram I'm lolling so much reading about your evening!!

grey placenta pills? Not heard of that, will Google it tomorrow.

Been out with friends for a thai meal, lovely time but exhausted now. Good night all.

rescoonetwothree · 13/10/2013 04:38

Lyra - that's good that dp's staying with you and that he can stay after the birth!

Owl - it's something I need to look into a bit more as I've read some horror stories / scam stuff etc but at the moment that's what I'd like haha! Am going to have to ask around and see if anyone who's had it etc to see if it's worth it but I like the idea of it Confused

Beccadugs · 13/10/2013 07:16

Lyra it was mixed poo (he's half ff half expressed bm, poor friend has had a nightmare) it DID NOT smell like yoghurt! If that is the ffing then uts another reason to bf!

Wonder77 · 13/10/2013 07:37

Hoping You get that scan soon and can go home Lyra

OwlinaTree · 13/10/2013 09:01

here's how it's done Blue Peter style grey

Coolhand · 13/10/2013 09:13

Apologies Gawj think I managed to ignore your question earlier. I'm 4.05 next Thurs - when are you?

Grey don't have anywhere near the same problem with ingesting as the idea of it rotting while still attached to baby. That said, one of the local doula websites I was on said she provided you with a placenta smoothie the day after birth and can't say that appealed to me either but I am of the squeamish variety!

MummyPig24 · 13/10/2013 09:23

How was your night Lyra?

How was Oliver last night pram?

I'm feeling a lot more tolerant of dh today. Poor guy. He came up to me earlier and said "I love you and I'm sorry I've been grumpy and horrible"! Aww.

JustCallMeBaldrick · 13/10/2013 09:31

How are you this morning Lyra?
As far as weight gain goes, last time I weighed I'd put on over a stone, and that was a few weeks ago Blush I just eat and eat when I'm pg, and it's not healthy options, it 's complete crap! I still hadn't lost the weight I gained from DD (or the boys!), this time around, but I had just lost a stone on a pales-based diet.
Now I know this works for me, I'm more confident that I'll be able to lose the weight afterwards (and probably now if I could give up my beloved carbs at the moment).

HotCrossPun · 13/10/2013 09:48

How are you feeling Lyra ? Any news?

Twas me that asked you Coolio. Grin Mine is at 3:30. I've been counting down from 5 weeks ago for this scan so really excited I've only got another 4 days to wait.

HotCrossPun · 13/10/2013 10:07

STUPID QUESTION ALERT

I want to buy something after our 20 week scan. We are having the baby at home so I want to get it a really nice babygrow type thing for its first night. Looking online, are Sleepsuits the things they actually sleep in at bedtime? Because all the ones I've seen look really thick, like they are for outdoors. Confused

LyraSilvertongue · 13/10/2013 10:10

Hottie, sleep suits and babygroes are the same thing, so for daytime, sleeping, whatever.

Still waiting for my alleged scan. Wish they'd hurry up. Grrrr.

SuperMuddle · 13/10/2013 10:17

baldrick, I'm putting on weight too, and I don't think it's just to do with Peanut. I cannot stop eating either, especially sugar, as I'm still feeling tired and it gives me a boost. Cakes, doughnuts, chocolate, coke... I think I will give up refined sugar for a while, to try to kick the habit I've got into of always reaching for junk when I'm tired or peckish. I think I've been using being pregnant as an excuse to eat what I want, when I want, and it's really not doing me any good.

Right then.

lyra, how are you?

LyraSilvertongue · 13/10/2013 10:18

I've had no more pain this morning, which is great, but I said the same yesterday and then it started. Yesterday was much better than Friday, pain-wise, so hopefully it's tailing off.

SuperMuddle · 13/10/2013 10:19

Cross posted, lyra! Hope you get seen very soon.
