Mummy & Magpie, I told him that Horrid Henry the movie is on the telly and he said 'I only watch the cartoon one, I don't watch the one with real people in it'. I said, 'You do now'. He is now engrossed on the sofa Smile

..oh, and he doesn't want McDonalds for tea because 'it's not the same as the one near my house'. Oh fuck off.

Haha he's a crafty little bugger pram! What side is horrid Henry on? We've just put on chicken run after some conker hunting. I also had to rescue a frog from the shed as dh was too scared!!

Lyra I hope that your situation improves and you are allowed to come home, safe in the knowledge that baby is staying put very soon. Glad DP has made it more bearable with gifts from home.

Pram Next time you weigh yourself use both scales at the same time, put one foot on each and choose whichever one has the lowest amount on. I hardly ever weigh myself but I am curious to know if I have gained any weight as I am still in my pre-pregnancy clothes and they are still loose?

Bit of reassurance please!! I'm away at my brothers for the weekend. Just been to the loo and there was old blood just a blob and it was dedicated old. Do I panic? Do I ignore it?

Faith I can still fit my pre pregnancy jeans, but they fall down if I leave them unfastened / hair bobble trick Grin Still wearing my normal jeggings as they are easy to push under the bump.

lumpy old blood is fine to my knowledge. Just monitor it.

Lyra really hope all okay. Thinking of you.

I'm next week on the 20 week scan as well (Thurs) and hoping to find out if baby cooperates.

Lotus births - it actually makes me feel sick. I would find it quite disturbing.

Prambo glad you've managed to win him over with a bit of TV. Hope it lasts!

Will check weight gain later - don't know. Really don't care that much - not putting on excessive weight in other areas so don't think it's a problem.

Coolio Scan buddies! What time is yours?

Report
LyraSilvertongue · 12/10/2013 18:18

I think they've forgotten me. I've been in this room for hours, no blood test results, no scan Hmm DP is going to try to get out of work early so he can keep me company. And hospital food is officially awful. Looks nice on the menu - for dinner I had seafood pasta with dill - but the reality is a different story. Pasta so overcooked it literally melted in the mouth Hmm Puddings are all reminiscent of school lunches in the '70s. Ginger sponge with packet custard. Yum!

Pram, don't let the little bugger dictate. You see what happened when you TOLD him what film he was going to watch? Keep that up.

Lumpy, I know it's scary but the fact that it's old blood is good news. Monitor and call midwife if it gets worse.

Report
MummyPig24 · 12/10/2013 18:22

lumpy don't panic. I'm sure it is absolutely fine, just keep an eye on it and if you start bleeding fresh red blood then call the midwife.

My scan is not till November 2nd! I will be 21 weeks, which makes me feel slightly better as I am now 18 weeks so it's only a few weeks away.

Lyra hope you're home soon! Thinking of you Thanks

Pram what a little monster. Hope you still manage to have a nice weekend!

So happy and excited we're having a girl. May have already been shopping...

Lyra you poor lovely, I hope you get seen soon and that DP can bring in some edible grub!

Pram do you have any Lego in the house? That always keeps my DS occupied for ages. You do make me laugh though I have to say!

lumpy do not panic, old blood should be nothing to worry about. Just keep an eye and report to mw if any more comes. You've no pain?

My takeaway is here now but just time to say comms I was right I was right! Obvs your gender reveal is all about ME not you Wink Congrats lovely, take it from me, the girls are bonkers but hilarious!

Rock I don't have a noticeable bump at all. I can see my tummy is bigger (like when you eat too much bigger) but before I was preggers it was completely flat (defo one of my best features that I will never see again!! Ha ha!). I am still doing my trousers up normally without the aid of hair bobbles, they are my slightly larger trousers I confess but they are huge on me despite my pathetic attempt at preggers belly!! Am expecting to explode shortly. I am 19 weeks on Monday.

I still haven't told everyone I'm pregnant and we have been invited to a fancy dress party for Halloween so I'm thinking I might just wear this and see how long it takes them to catch on!!

Lumpy, I echo the others: old blood is usually quite innocuous but do ring midwife as soon as you can.

Hang in their, lovely Lyra.

Thanks for suggestions, girls. I'm a little annoyed that his mother has sent him here with absolutely nothing to play with. No toys, pencils, games or owt. I am similarly irked that th'usband thinks that The Omen would be happy to roam around the house with fuck all to do. If it wasn't for my treasure hunts and making him a Harry Potter Nimbus 2000 out of a kitchen roll holder I don't know where we'd be Hmm

Lumpy I'm sorry I missed your post! Old blood is generally nothing to worry about. Just keep your eye on things x

Pram sounds like you're doing a fab job of keeping him occupied! Good shout on the Nimbus 2000 :)

I bet he wants a fire bolt instead though doesn't he pram? His mum (and dad) should make sure he packs a bag with things he wants to play with when he comes to stay. A toy free house is pretty boringfor a kid. He's lucky to have you to keep him occupied.

Dh is pissing me off big time. If he breathes near me I'm going to fucking castrate that twat.

Mummy, what on earth has he done to evoke that kind of fury?! I'm laughing my head off Grin You're right about the bag-packing. It's as much th'usband's responsibility as it is hers. We did have lots here for The Omen to play with (knives, rottweilers, matches) but he insists on taking every last thing home to show his mum and we never see it again.

Doctor wants to keep me in overnight again but I want to go home. I feel like a fraud being here wasting one of their rooms when there are women actually giving birth and I'm not.
Blood results were clear and speculum exam showed cervix is not opening so I don't see the point in staying. I live 5 minutes drive from the hospital so can get back here quickly if I need to. They said I may or may not get a scan tomorrow. The regular sonographers don't work weekends so it's only if the doc has time. And I'd quite like to sleep with DP tonight instead of a noisy labour ward.
Whinge over.

Pram, you're doing a great job entertaining Damian. What is DH doing while you entertain his son?

What's DH done, Mummypig?

Report
prambo2thereturn · 12/10/2013 20:26

Pirates, I was asking Damian about Lego, especially as he only recently returned from Legoland in Windsor. Unfortunately he doesn't seem to enjoy anything unless it has its origins in the weird fantasies in his strange little head. For instance, he will make up a game which has the most absurd and unworkable 'rules' you could possibly imagine. I try to play along but (perhaps intentionally) one of us invariably ends up almost dying. If I try to make the rules more malleable so that we live out long and happy lives he storms off saying he wants to ring his mum. Seriously, what would you do if you were playing Super Mario and he insisted that you had to go outside and walk around the garden blindfolded on all fours? In the dark.

He hasn't really done anything I'm just feeling incredibly hostile and everything he does or says makes me feel murderous. Mainly, his biggest crime was waking me up when I fell asleep on the sofa an hour ago.
