IceNoSlice · 20/10/2013 17:37

Wow MC (or should I call you Lyra) that is quite a haul! Very impressive! Charity shops in posh places are the best ones I reckon.

MCPrammer · 20/10/2013 17:55

Definitely, Ice. I just googled the Moses basket and it's a really expensive brand, over £100 new. It could do with new bedding but at £17 it was a bargain.
And the skinnies fit, which I was not confident of. Luckily they have a good amount of Lycra in them.

I'll name change back when I can get on the laptop.

PramChowder · 20/10/2013 18:12

Hello fellow Martians. We have had a busy day getting ds birthday presents and visiting family. Now we are all in our pjs and the kids will be going up to bed in the not too distant future. I'm knackered, I got home at 11.30 last night and dd was in our bed as she had a temp so I didn't sleep very well. I might have to fall asleep on the sofa.

MCPrammer · 20/10/2013 18:51

Google tells me the two maternity dresses I paid £3 each for are £95 each new. I do love a good bargain Grin

Imeg · 20/10/2013 19:37

To the person who asked about the cat's bedroom (think it may have been the original pram)..
We live in a 3-bedroom house and for the last 5 years it has just been the two of us. When I first brought the cat home I was looking after a friend's dog who was staying in the kitchen. Therefore I shut him in one of the bedrooms for the first week or so, which ended up staying as 'his' space as we didn't have any reason to move him out really. In terms of 'possessions' he had two beds, a cat basket, a large scratching post/tower/climbing frame, two litter trays, two plastic mats with his food and water bowl on it, and about a million toys. Also half a ton of (clean) litter that he'd scattered around the floor while scrabbling in his litter tray. And plenty of spare blankets for covering the sofa bed that was in his room before he moved in (so doesn't count as 'his')
I do know it's ridiculous for a cat to have his own bedroom...

lumpylumps · 20/10/2013 19:41

Aw, thanks muddle not that I've anything to report!!!

OwlinaTree · 20/10/2013 22:11

Hi guys hope all have had a good weekend.

Scan tomorrow!! Anyone else tomorrow?

apprenticemamma · 20/10/2013 22:32

mc prammer that's fantastic!

I first need to retrieve my maternity wear and moses basket from dear beloved not talking to me sister. Then I'm on a major saving mission so may follow suit.

Spend the evening reviewing financesSad new credit card ordered energy supplier switched. I've no ideas how we''ll manage Christmas without copious amounts of fudge making (not a euphemism!) dp and I are on a reasonable salary for where we live but on a five week month we are fucked! Bring on tomorrows child benefit payment Grin

owl good luck for the scan tomorrow are u going to find out pink or blue?

OwlinaTree · 20/10/2013 23:08

Not planning to apprentice. Tho it is tempting when so many on here do know. I'd just buy so many clothes if I knew!!

£5 a picture at our hospital! The in laws want one but have offered to pay for it. I'm guessing my lot will want one too. That's £20 if me and DH have one as well!! £25 if we want one each!! They had better be good shots, hope the baby has combed his hair.

apprenticemamma · 20/10/2013 23:24

jeez owl that's a rip off! £1 a pop in Dundee. Do they come framed?!!

Go on..... u know you want toGrin

Beccadugs · 21/10/2013 06:27

Owl we paid once and got three pics. Have scammed them into my laptop and printed a copy for the rellies. I'm not sure they would have printed more if we'd asked!

PramChowder · 21/10/2013 06:39

Owl at our hospital there's a machine that you post £10 into and it gives you a token for 2 pictures. But we ended up being given 4 so you might be lucky.

PiratesMam · 21/10/2013 07:20

Good luck today Owl! This second lot of scans has come around so quickly. At our hospital they do it at 22 weeks so ours is next Thursday (Halloween!). So many on our thread have found out the sex! Still it sure what we are going to do.

An feeling the baby move all the time now which is lovely. Was sick again twice on the weekend though - thought that was all done by now surely! Anyone else still being sick occasionally?

I am up and dressed and waiting for our builders to arrive. Bring on the next six weeks of chaos! Confused

liberuna · 21/10/2013 07:49

Good luck for todayowl
I've got mine on Friday and can't wait

pirate last week my ms suddenly came back. I thought we were done with that? But this seems more intermittent as opposed to constant. Feeling quesy all of a sudden.

Sleep is really difficult too. Trying to find a comfortable position. I've bought one of those large pillows but doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

HotCrossPun · 21/10/2013 08:28

Is there anybody else who hasn't had to pay for pictures?

We've got about 15 photos from the 3 scans (2 twelve week scans and 1 twenty week) and weren't asked for payment or donation at all. Nobody I know has had to pay either.

Maybe it's a bit of Glasgow generosity Grin

FoxMulder · 21/10/2013 09:12

Pirates I can confirm that the puking has never entirely gone away. Did a massive spew on Friday. It was quite impressive.

What work are you having done? I have my very own live-in builder who will be renovating our bathroom shortly Smile.

God, this morning was dark. I'm sure it must be a breach of human rights to make your employees get up in the dark for work. I mean, if it's still dark it is clearly still the night time and one should be in bed.

Beccadugs · 21/10/2013 09:19

Return of the morning sickness?!

Mine has never left. I am sitting at my desk (not working) trying not to see my breakfast again!

Does anybody else feel irrational rage when asked about your pregnancy? No did you have a nice weekend, nothing like that... Grrrr!!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 21/10/2013 09:22

I have come to the conclusion that this is as well as I will feel throughout pregnancy, so am trying to trick my body into thinking I feel on top of the world Halloween Wink

Out scan photos were £3 each and they put them in little cards. We were given twice the amount of photos that we paid for at our private scan though.

15 days till the next one!!

Good luck for today scanees! Can't wait to hear the news Halloween Smile

BadlyWrittenPoem · 21/10/2013 10:00

£5 a scan photo is ridiculous - no way can it be costing that much. Here I think it's one or two pounds. First pregnancy you just got one photo for your money but this time at the dating scan we got three. We got loads free at all our scans last time but that was because we were being seen on the foetal monitoring list due to what happened in the previous pregnancy.

I am still almost being sick and finding eating hard work but not actually being sick. It's so much better than previous times that I find it hard to believe that I'm really pregnant and although I know that the medication is having a massive effect, I keep worrying that the lack of throwing up all the time is a bad sign.

lumpylumps · 21/10/2013 10:10

owl scan day here too. Getting nervous now about it. We're hoping to find out and the boys are coming too. I just hope everything's okay

This is usually my go ahead to start buying but Christmas seems to be taking over. Might have to call in somewhere after and buy a little something tho

Photos are £5 here too but you get 2 or 3. I've never actually paid tho, I just drop into conversation that I'm a nurse and get the wink!! I always have my money ready tho, just in case!!

SuperMuddle · 21/10/2013 10:22

Good luck for your scans owl and lumpy!

My 20 week scan photo will cost £5, which seems rather steep! Didn't have to pay anything for the 12 week ones, and we were given about 6. Very odd... Hmm

Finding it hard to believe I'm still pregnant; no nausea anymore, excessive tiredness pretty much gone, no movement from Peanut that I can feel. The only things I have are a slightly bigger belly (which could easily be explained by cake) and a little round ligament pain. I just don't feel like there's anything there at the moment, it's very weird!

Blockette · 21/10/2013 10:33

Good Luck Owl and Lumpy! don't forget to report back!

£3 for pictures at our 12 week scan, but we got about 8 different ones.

MS going away? - I have been sick every day, at least once since I POAS!

  • becca I'm also at my desk, just waiting for the sickness to build up enough so I don't have to make two trips! - Everyone in the office has learnt not to bother me until after lunch.
CalltheMadwife · 21/10/2013 10:47

I'm also still having occasional bouts of sickness mostly bad nausea so I'll take a cyclizine in anticipation of vomiting. I'm getting it more in the evening now when I'm tired and hungry.

I got all my photos for free :) but was fully prepared to pay, perks of the job I suppose! I think they're £3 or £5 for 2 at our hospital. But you get more than you pay for usually.

Bought some baby stuff at the weekend when the inlaws came to visit, and father in law offered to pay for the pram/pushchair I could of tackled him and kissed him right there in the shop! we were really starting to worry how we were going to be able to afford everything! I currently have £5 left in my account till payday so they also bought us some food shopping, feel like a student again!

Hope everyone is well, I'm getting serious bump envy from photos on FB, mine just looks like flab and I'm one of the furthest along I think :( oh well!

commsgirl · 21/10/2013 10:49

I think it's £5 for two pics at ours. I just went in with my staff badge on and she didn't charge me. Sneaky!

Good luck today ladies!

I am so uncomfortable! Woke up this morning and my bump feels twice the size, I can't get comfy at my desk at all. Feel so sick too. My new assistant started today so I'm trying to make a good impression but I just want to crawl under my desk and sleep. I'm hoping she'll make life less stressful/busy though!

FoxMulder · 21/10/2013 10:49

Oh Block and Becca I feel for you guys! That is really, really shit being sick every day still. I've got it down to about once a week for actual puking. I could barely get out of bed when I was in the daily puking phase, so I'm very impressed you are at work.

Excited about Owl and Lumpy's scans. What times are they?
