I'm so sorry for those who are still suffering with sickness. I can't imagine how awful it must be. Flowers

Pirates, I hope the building work goes well, and that it goes quickly!!

I can't believe I am 19 weeks, it's going so quickly now and I'm actually getting excited. I'm feeling lots of movement and my bump is growing by the second.

Dd has come up with a new name for the baby. "White Fluffy Wuffy"!!! She is a rare one.

PramChowder · 21/10/2013 11:19

Good luck for the scannees today!!

Beccadugs · 21/10/2013 11:48

Thanks for the sumpathy ladies! I'm sorry others are suffering too.

I think that's why I was so annoyed on Friday. The reason I have been consistently late is that my vom schedule is clashing with the time I need to leave for work, and apparently this can't be accommodated. Next time I'm going to be late due to vommiting I'm going to phone in sick for the whole day, if my efforts to get in sent appreciated.

PiratesMam · 21/10/2013 11:49

Fox you are SO lucky your OH is a builder!! DH can't hang a picture bless him. We are having our loft converted into two new rooms - one room (bigger) will be for the two older kids so that the baby can eventually have their room, and the other room will be an office for DH so he can occasionally work from home and the children won't forget who he is!!!

lumpy so exciting that you're finding out what you are having. I'm sure everything will be fine. How old are your boys again? I have started Christmas shopping now too, so many things the kids want this year!! We also have numerable birthdays in December and January which is a pain!

liberuna yes I'm the same, usually ok now but when the sickness comes it really creeps up on me and takes me by surprise. I can't believe how awful I must have been a month ago, feeling like that all the time, and I really feel for those who are still suffering, it is so unlucky! MS is a serious design fault!

Chowder my DD (2.5) has named the baby after herself - she is going through a rather self-interested phase!

This weather is awful - sorry it's our fault, it's because our roof is coming off!!

20+4

Am I really the only person whose hospital has charged me £5 per print? Even though I'm after 2 of the same image each time? So a tenner a pop in essence. Sad And they don't even staple it into the book neatly which really pisses me off Angry (though it probably shouldn't)

commsgirl · 21/10/2013 12:51

Jolls I re-stapled something my midwife had put in my notes because it was wonky so you're not alone! Scan pics are an absolute rip off!

FoxMulder · 21/10/2013 12:52

I am lucky Pirates. Our house was (relatively) cheap because of all the work that needed doing. We've been in 2 years and he has plastered the bedroom & kitchen, put a bigger window in the kitchen, laid flooring in the hall, bedroom & living room, fitted a new kitchen, insulated the loft and laid a patio. No way could we have afforded to get someone in to do any of that stuff. Now just to do the bathroom & baby's room before s/he comes along and we never have any time or money for home renovations ever again.

Your loft conversion sounds good! Should make heaps more space.

Jol sounds like your hospital is stooging you! We got charged, but I think it was £2.50 a photo.

commsgirl · 21/10/2013 12:52

Pirates when my sister was born I loved her for about three seconds until they told me she wasn't called the same name as mine. After that there's lots of photos of my aged 3, arms crossed and eyes shut, completely refusing to even look at her!

lumpylumps · 21/10/2013 12:53

Mines at 2pm!! My boys are 5 and 3. Both born at the end of august. I've pretty much done their pressies, they're getting the the imaginext castle, tower and some of the accessories that go with them.

FoxMulder · 21/10/2013 12:55

comms My sister was promised she could name me, as she was jealous of my impending arrival. She chose Jonathan Hmm

MCPrammer · 21/10/2013 12:55

We have to pay £5 for two scan pics but they didn't take the token we bought for the 12-week scan so I saved it and used it to pay for the pics at the 20-week. We've got six in total.

This is really weird but I vommed this morning for the first time in several weeks. There was nothing in there to bring up but my body gave it a damn good try. Also woke up with the most godawful headache so feeling pretty shit in general.

Good luck to today's scanees.

liberuna · 21/10/2013 13:38

I paid £3 per photo at 12 weeks. We'll see what happens this Friday at 20 week scan

HotCrossPun · 21/10/2013 13:49

I think its so cheeky to charge that amount of money for scan pictures. It's cheap scan paper and it's in black and white, they would cost a few pence to produce.

Didn't somebody else have to pay for the piss pot that they bring to their appointments? Shock

HotCrossPun · 21/10/2013 13:51

Found a wee article here

Beccadugs · 21/10/2013 14:12

I forgot to wash my piss pot, had to buy new ones... Yuck!

HotCrossPun · 21/10/2013 14:16

Becca Wash it?? You have to use the same one at every appointment?

My midwife just gives me a tub at the end of each appointment and if I forget it like I've done every time then you just get one for free from reception.

Jolleigh · 21/10/2013 14:22

My midwife tells me to reuse mine but the hospital gives handfuls to anyone who stands still long enough. When did they start using really slim piss pots by the way? Whose aim is that good?!

commsgirl · 21/10/2013 14:23

Becca please don't tell me you've got to use the same wee pot for your whole pregnancy??

FoxMulder · 21/10/2013 14:25

I wasn't given one at my booking apt, but I was at the 16 week check which the mw then rinsed out and gave back to me...

And yes, they are way too narrow. Better to pee in something bigger and decant.

HotCrossPun · 21/10/2013 14:27

Next to the piss pots they have these handy little tin foil tray things that you wee into and then decant. The key is not to overfill Grin

Blockette · 21/10/2013 14:30

When I hand mine in full, I get a new empty one back - becca that sounds horrible if you have to re-use it!

Comms and Fox my brother wanted to name me "Baby Forest" and still referred to me as that for a good year after apparently Confused

PramChowder · 21/10/2013 14:38

I have to re use my piss pot. It's tiny!

My grandmas cousin wanted to call his new sister Sylvia, his parents denied his wishes and called her Irene and he was furious so he re named her Diggory. From then on she was known affectionately as Dig.

Beccadugs · 21/10/2013 14:46

Yes to reusing piss pot. No way say I. Ordered 20 of amazon for about £2. I just tell the midwife to chuck it I have plenty at home. TMI alert, I keep empty (washed) yoghurt pots (big ones like miller light, wide top!) to decant from. Then I chuck them obvs!!

PussyRiot · 21/10/2013 14:48

Hello there, may I join? This is my fourth baby and I'm 20. Scan photos are expensive, aren't they? After my second baby I started taking a pencil and tracing paper to the scans and now the sonographer lets me trace a picture of the baby straight from the telly. Unfortunately this latest one looks like ET but at least it was free Smile

MCPrammer · 21/10/2013 14:52
