Gaw It doesn't need to be a big issue. It's your house, you decide who stays there and for how long. It makes me sad to hear of all these people in your life who treat you so badly.

HotCrossPun · 14/10/2013 22:39

I didn't understand your first post. I thought it was your brother who was coming to stay and it was your mum that was saying he could stay as long as he wants.

But it's your DP's family? I can see why that's more difficult for you. But the difficulty comes back to the abusive relationship that you are in with your DP. You don't need these people in your life who cause you so much hurt and stress.

rescoonetwothree · 14/10/2013 22:40

congrats ice! xx

OwlinaTree · 14/10/2013 22:42

grey how about this for baby to cuddle?! Grin

x0gawjus0x · 14/10/2013 22:44

Yes mother in law told carls brother he can stay here (we only asked if he would like to stay here while we are away) nothing more than that i am gonna text her in the morning saying the dates and when he can stay but she will probably ignore it and he will still be here and me and oh will be constantly arguing and im gonna feel awkward and unsafe in my own house which isnt happening i just have to grow some balls if he wont and tell them no! What more can i do i cant be nice about it if they arnt getting the hint..

x0gawjus0x · 14/10/2013 22:46

So now im gonna be constantly thinking about this from now till were back of hols argh how frustrating wish dp could just grow some balls and tell them straight but he wont i said i dont care if you dont like it is my house if j wanted a lodger id bloody get one who would atleast pay toward the bills but guess what i dont so no thanj you!!

HotCrossPun · 14/10/2013 22:46

If you don't think he is going to leave when you ask him to, and he makes you feel unsafe then don't have him to stay at all. Put the dog in kennels and save yourself a ton of aggro.

x0gawjus0x · 14/10/2013 22:48

Sorry just really anoyed it will be in the back of my head now the entire time, i am going to make it very clear i want to enjoy my holiday and come back to my OWN house without lazy dirty lowlife occupants!

x0gawjus0x · 14/10/2013 22:49

Its not even like we asked him we asked dp mum if she wouldnt mind looking after the dog and shes took it upon herself for him to stay here nosey bitch kennels arnt very appealing to me

x0gawjus0x · 14/10/2013 22:55

Congrats ice :) lotsa girls for us! So happy for you and gl for tomorro miri xx

rescoonetwothree · 14/10/2013 22:57

owl oh my god. what is wrong with people?! i loved the blue peter style link - I'm surprised people aren't selling their placentas with knitted hats or something on etsy yet, the world is on its arse haha!

rescoonetwothree · 14/10/2013 22:59

gaw my mum has a pet business - this included looking after dogs when owners go away - its all in her home and she adores them all and spoils them rotten with walks and fun, you could put the pup somewhere like that instead? a lot of them about!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/10/2013 23:01

Owl that is amazing!! I'll knit you one Grey!

Gawj she can't dictate to you like that.

apprenticemamma · 14/10/2013 23:02

Place marking....been away for weekend and will need to catch up tomorrow :)

Jolleigh · 14/10/2013 23:03

Hi Everyone. Sorry I've been away a while. Thanks to grey for giving me a quick kick up the arse on facebook...I haven't set out to worry anyone.

Here are my updates for you all (there really isn't anything interesting so feel free to skip!)

Had a beautiful meal on Friday night at El Rincon (Manchester ladies or those nearby - I'd hugely recommend you go and eat there) and was up late cuddling and talking with the other half.

Been for my flu jab today. My nurse was lovely and asked more about my pregnancy than the midwife did last week. I then have an appointment on Wednesday for my back...I know there's not a huge amount that can be done but at least if the doctor confirms it to be SPD, I can get an on-site parking space at work for the remainder of the pregnancy. I'm currently a short walk away but it's uphill so I'm concerned about having a fall when it snows.

I'll be hearing back about my interview at some point this week. I'm suddenly not very confident about it but really can't pinpoint why. Doesn't matter though really...with it only being a 6 month role, the benefits would only be temporary anyway.

Latest craving...huge amounts of fruit and fruit juice. Today I've had pineapple, blueberry, blackberry, strawberry, raspberry, grapes, orange juice and grapefruit juice. I'm having to force down all other food groups.

Hoping to catch up on the thread soon...I've got hundreds of posts to look at! My own fault though for neglecting you fine ladies Wink

x0gawjus0x · 14/10/2013 23:04

I looked into it grey but vinnie hasnt had the snip and i think most require it x

yeah gonna send mil a text first thing..

Jolleigh · 14/10/2013 23:10

gawjus - I would say that if you're not comfortable having him in the house, you need to find alternative arrangements for the dog? You've mentioned that your OH's brother is known to steal from family? So I don't get why you'd have him there at all. I certainly wouldn't! It's worth reconsidering the kennels...I use a little family run farm based one that's fantastic. Baldrick loves staying there Smile

Jolleigh · 14/10/2013 23:17

BWP & Rock - I've officially decided (in my obviously expert capacity Wink ) that neither of you are right in the head. I haven't even thought about Christmas yet Blush

On reflection though, I'm thinking I'm going to make some chutneys and jams for most, maybe some brioche and butter puddings for family. Then starting new year, I need to remind myself how to crochet...tradition in my family is for mother to crochet a large blanket for her babies. I still have mine and will never part with it Grin

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/10/2013 23:20

That's lovely Jolls! I have made a small blanket already, but have my eye on a lovely pattern to make!

Glad you had a nice meal out Halloween Smile

Jolleigh · 14/10/2013 23:21

Ice - I'm so happy your scan went well. Congratulations on your suspected baby girl Smile

Jolleigh · 14/10/2013 23:25

I'm impressed you use patterns NoMaybe Smile I just kind of start something and see how it goes. My last textile project went quite well though...I made myself a fabric glasses case when I gave in and finally agreed to get some glasses for work. It gets loads of compliments.

Jolleigh · 14/10/2013 23:29

Ice - definitely agree full stops are a minimum requirement, however I will agree to occasionally being a pedant...probably the case for anyone who's made any sum of money writing or proof reading. I do find single-sentence paragraphs very difficult to read. That said, I can be quite lax on the grammar front myself.

Jolleigh · 14/10/2013 23:30

agree to? I meant admit to Blush

BionicEar · 14/10/2013 23:36

Bounces into the room... BURP! Apologies am suffering massively from burping and trumping issues tonight! Grin

Anyone else suffering the same... or is it just me? Hmm

Glad we're going good results from all these scans. Have enjoyed looking at scan photos on the Facebook page. Getting restless for mine now... due 24th Oct. So far resisting urge to find out gender of baby... will pinch a little of Prambo's will power to get me through! Wink Does look like we have more pink than blue so far on the thread.

Saw the consultant on Fri to discuss potential problems with birth, given fact I lost a lot of blood when had DD. Find it a bit odd that they weren't bothered when I was pg with DS (2nd child), but hey ho! The consultant was lovely. What I found interesting was when he went "Hmmm your notes said this, but actually looking at the info I think you lost more blood than recorded as it doesn't match up" - which was something I had wondered about, as was severely anaemic after having my dd, to the extent my lovely GP came to visit me on the day I was discharged to check up on me and make sure I had iron pills due to his concerns over my low blood levels. So anyway the consultant said that they would need to put into place a plan in case this happens again, whatever that means! Madwife do you know what he would have meant? And I have to go back to see him again after I have had my scan. Also been booked in to see the anaesthetic
for a consultation, due to body taking 48 hours to recover after I had my implant op... left me unable to walk or wee! Can't complain they're not being through this time, can I?!

Gaw - sorry to hear you're having trouble with the other half family trying to inflict themselves onto you. Hope you get it sorted, so it doesn't ruin your holiday.

Owl was most amused by the link you posted for Grey! Grin

Right my brain starting to shut down and need my bed, so off I go! Night all!

Jolleigh · 14/10/2013 23:38

You're not the only one farting Bionic - even the dog is disgusted by the smells exiting me tonight Blush
