Dammit Fox! I was hoping I was onto a winner then Sad back to amazon I go...

PiratesMam · 14/10/2013 14:46

Ice a girl, congrats! Although humph I was wrong about your scan pic!! I was fooled by the laid back nature of the baby's stance!

Rockchick1984 · 14/10/2013 15:08

Mummy I've got most of my shopping done already via the Xmas bargain threads on here, and saved a small fortune in the process Grin

Magpieblue · 14/10/2013 15:35

grey Placenta pills are positively palatable to me, compared to smoothies or this lotus birth thing. Sorry to keep going on about it but I've become weirdly fascinated. I can see the point in terms of the newborn getting the max amount of blood/nutrients, but this is also the thinking behind delayed cord clamping, which I discovered on this thread and I def agree with - can't see how keeping the placenta attached for days offers anything more. Others demented hippies say the baby sees it as a comfort and friend, and is alarmed by the separation! To get around this, I will be putting my baby to bed every night with a bit of liver to cuddle up to.

BWP Thanks for your v kind concern. I think I will mention it to my midwife.

Ice congratulations! And to everyone else who knows what they're having. (I'm jealous because we've decided not to find out and I'd quite like to.)

Pram Second everyone else. I hope you manage to get it sorted, for his sake more than anyone's. He's lucky to have you even though you call him Damien

MummyBee87 · 14/10/2013 15:56

Oooo Rock how jealous I am!! I may have to have a look at that thread!! :D:D:D

MummyPig24 · 14/10/2013 15:59

Lovely news ice!

IceNoSlice · 14/10/2013 16:03

Thank you everyone Smile I stand by being totally happy either way, and I'm not a pink person so won't be buying a house load of pink stuff but we are chuffed to bits.

(Pirates- you may yet be proved right if he was indeed hiding his bits!)

IceNoSlice · 14/10/2013 16:05

Damn you Rock that is very impressive! Are you sure you won't do mine? How about gifts costing £10-£15 for a 7yo boy, an 8yo girl, 10yo boy and an 11yo boy? Pretty please?!

LyraSilvertongue · 14/10/2013 17:01

As predicted the hospital didn't call so I called them, got passed around by people all claiming not to have my paperwork. Turned out the first person I spoke to DID have it after all Angry I now have an appointment for 9.30 tomorrow morning.

Mummybee, how you put up with those lazy ungrateful "children" is beyond me. My boys will NOT turn out like that. It's pathetic that they're so dependent at their ages.

Ice, congrats!! Thanks I need mine to be Team Blue to balance things up a bit.

BadlyWrittenPoem · 14/10/2013 17:18

MummyBee, DD2 is still in our room at nearly fifteen months but DD1 was in her own room from about ten days (in retrospect I wish I'd kept her in with us for longer but it was the best decision at the time) so I don't think you can necessarily predict/assume how things will work out especially the first time round.

lumpy, I know I keep on expressing outrage at some of the treatment people have received but I think it is very bad that they won't see you. I thought it was standard that hospitals would see you for bleeding aside from some having a very early cut off like not before six weeks.

Pram, I'm glad Oliver's mum is willing to sit down and discuss things with you and ManPram and I hope that it is productive.

Glad to hear all was well on your scan ice.

I've done all Christmas presents except for the HM shortbread which needs to be done nearer the time. I've already been telling DH which shops we need to go to when in January to get the best bargains for next year's Christmas/birthday presents.

How annoying Lyra, I'm glad you at least do have an appointment now.

Beccadugs · 14/10/2013 18:53

I need your help Martians, somebody bought a dress from tiffanyrose. I am a bridesmaid at a wedding in 5 weeks, and need a dress, they are the perfect colours, now, here's where you can help. Do the sizes come up small? How quickly did it arrive?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/10/2013 19:23

Ooh. Which dress Becca? I love their dresses and would like to splash out on one for the festive season!!

Fasterkillpussycat · 14/10/2013 19:26

Hi Becca, I bought a couple of dresses from Tiffany Rose - sizes are slightly big, I found, but they delivered them really quickly and they were just what I was after.

Imeg · 14/10/2013 20:48

Pram - it sounds like some good may come out of the weekend if it gets you and the child's mother talking.

I know it's not the same situation at all but my husband and his brother are rubbish at keeping in touch, but now that his brother's girlfriend is pregnant too (due about a month before me) she and I have got chatting quite a bit which has been lovely.

Ice - how about Sea Monkeys? They're about £10. Hawkin's bazaar has lots of fun stuff.

Beccadugs · 14/10/2013 21:36

Thanks faster just the info I need!

It's between these at the moment:

dress 1

Beccadugs · 14/10/2013 21:41

Oops posted too soon! The others:

dress 3

commsgirl · 14/10/2013 21:48

Becca they're all beautiful. The colour of 2 and 3 is stunning! I think 2 is my fave :)

Congrats Ice

Lumpy sorry you're having such a crap time of it. Flowers

Hope your scan goes well tomorrow Lyra!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/10/2013 21:48

Lovely choices Becca! I'd go for 2 or 3

IceNoSlice · 14/10/2013 21:48

Thanks Imeg those kids are always hard to buy for.

Lyra are you looking to even up Martian numbers? Because if you are team blue that wont even up your household!

Becca those dresses are so beautiful! Especially love the raspberry colour.

IceNoSlice · 14/10/2013 21:50

Although I'm not sure what the difference is between dresses 2 and 3.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/10/2013 21:52

It's the sleeves Ice

x0gawjus0x · 14/10/2013 21:56

Need some advice.. MIL has told my dh brother ( who has been working abroad he is 33 he has no money no gf no house etc and coming bk to england for a good few months that as he is looking after the dog while were away he can live here as long as he needs?!? Umm hello no he fucking cant and he will not!! Dh isnt talking to me cos he doesnt want to say no i dont fucking care he idnt living here not at all he has no money he constantly stole from his mum when he lived there and he will be making me feel awkward and worried about my own home no way am i feeling like that whilst im pregnant i dont know how to go about this situation i am going to text their mum tomorrow saying 'these are the dates pete cab stay here 9-18 november whilst we are away' i hope she gets the hint ino its gonna cause ttouble but fuck it not having it!!! Its my house and i dont want him here no matter what dh or his fuckin mumn think hes just too scared to say no so i bloody will

IceNoSlice · 14/10/2013 22:13

Oh yes Maybe, so it is. In that case I prefer the sleeveless one.

Gawj I'm a bit confused. Your message could do with a bit more punctuation and maybe space it out a bit (sorry that sounds so pedantic, I'm not telling you off just gently suggesting how you could be clearer).

I think you're saying that your BIL is looking after your dog whilst you're in holiday and staying at your house - but MIL has told him he can stay on as long as he wants to? In your house? If that's the case then I think you are justified in saying no. But make sure you do it nicely (firmly, but nicely) or you could lose your dog sitter!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 14/10/2013 22:19

Gawj, why is it your MIL's place to say that? How are things between you and DH at the moment? Surely this is another pressure that isn't needed?

OwlinaTree · 14/10/2013 22:36

Congrats on team pink ice.

Dress 3 is lovely Becca.

pram I took mnhq comment as advising you to look there for support not condemnation.

gawjus it's your home, you decide who stays there.

lyra boo to no scan, but good luck for tomorrow.

lumpy I'm sure you will be fine, but keeping fingers crossed anyway.
