Congratulations MrsH! Flowers

chickieno1 · 14/10/2013 09:13

Congrats and well done mrshn xxx

Flyer747 · 14/10/2013 09:21

Clapham Grin no finger nails. Nothing here either I must have the tightest fitting mucus plug ever Smile

40+1 SFW

Good Luck Taking.

Tmi but I think I have an infected pile Shock it's bloody painful.

Doing a 3 hour round trip today to collect a new chest/blanket box, seemed like a good idea when I said I'd go yesterday, not so sure now.

Hope everyone else is fairing well.

Pinkforboys · 14/10/2013 09:34

May I add my Congratulations on the arrival at long last of little Conrad, MrsH. You must be so relieved pleased xxx

And good luck Taking & Nat we'll be thinking of you both toda and looking forward to hearing how it goes! (Don't forget the LIT post!)

Re: breast-pads, I found the ultra-slim ones the best last time round- more discreet and absorbant than any others (and boy did I leak!) It's good to hear your reviews- sounds like things have improved on the reusable front in the last 6 years

Has anyone else read the Baby Whisperer? I found it useful understanding DS's cries and patterns last time. (much more baby-empathy than Ms Ford)

feminist I just got the first border done on my blanket last night- and realised I'd foolishly gone for a time-consuming picot thing I've not tried before so it's going to be even more of a challenge to get it finished! Post a pic when you've finished xx

To the knitters/crocheters on this thread- I was gutted to miss the Knitting & Stitching Show this weekend (it was nearby in Ally Pally), but there was no way I could waddle-limp around all the blue-rince brigade. Have any of you guys been?

Pinkforboys · 14/10/2013 09:35

flyer you're a braver woman than me to go on a 3hour round trip!! especially with the sore-bum Thanks

Natalieand · 14/10/2013 09:47

Congrats mrshn xxx

Quick update
Currently on monitor at hospital with my sexy compression stockings lol just waiting for consultant to review me to decide which gel/pessary to use and they want to scan to confirm head down position to due being overweight (rude) lol

Tarlia · 14/10/2013 09:47

I'm sorry, I've been slowly reading thoughout the night so remember info but not always names.

The baby who isn't thought to be weeing - chop up a muslin cloth and stick a bit in the nappy.

Congratulations liv and mrsh. Good luck nat and taking. Hope I didn't forget anyone, sorry if I did - good luck or congrats!

I have to use breast pads with the horrible crystals in them like lasinoh though use a German brand, otherwise I leak everywhere. Lasted for months last time :(.

I too have a baby who has decided he doesn't want to be put down at all during the day, until about 12am. Though I'm very lucky at night time, he goes 3 or 4 hours between feeds - im letting him wake himself as he gained so much.

Tarlia · 14/10/2013 09:51

pink I've been to the knit and stitch at ally pally many times before, obv not this year. I agree, would have been way too exhausting to waddle around. Looking forward to seeing yours and fem's blankets. I made one for baby too but it's not very interesting so didn't share. Currently crocheting balls of ice cream and cones.

nat why do you need the stockings?

pinkbuttons · 14/10/2013 09:59

morning ladies, afraid I havent had chance to catch up at all.

Isla only feeding for about 10 minutes at a time so nowhere near enough to keep up.

but wanted to pop on and say a huge Congratulations to livened and mrsH sounds like you had a bit of a hard time of it mrsH but so glad Conrad is finally here xx

Good Luck today nat and tucking xx

Pinkforboys · 14/10/2013 10:00

Grrrr Angry Just had to pay parking fine. Own stupid fault- for some reason the street was packed last night when we got back and I foolishly thought we could park just overlapping a car club bay overnight and move the car first thing when the parking freed up. Ticket issued at 10.53pm Lesson learnt! (that makes one expensive last meal out!)

roofio87 · 14/10/2013 10:03

good luck nat hope the induction is quick moving for you. and try and rest now before things start up!! x

claphammama · 14/10/2013 10:08

Good luck nat!

How annoying pink. Traffic wardens never sleep in London... never... hope you had a lovely meal out last night at least

thethreeblondies · 14/10/2013 10:28

Morning everyone sc 39+2! I've had a text from my mum this morning which I'm ignoring Grin tempted to start sending daily updates to everyone in my phone book! As u said Orange not even at my due date yet! DD2'S teacher gave me a hug this morning (do I look that fed up?!) she said "I'm not going to say it, I'm going to say lovely to see u this morning!" everyone else on school run went with original "still here then!" arghhhhhhh will have pg rage by end of the week!

Congratulations MrsHN good to be reminded they will all arrive at some point even if they keep teasing us, they will all be here soon!

Been to supermarket and stocked up on lunchbox items for the week, and bought carpet cleaner spray, how exciting Grin

Smitten1981 · 14/10/2013 10:34

Morning all. Congrats on baby Conrad! Good luck today Nat.

I spied 2 tiny stretch marks under my bump last night. Told DH we need to DTD to get him out. He point blank refused and said 'I don't want your disgusting plug thing coming out on me'. Sigh!

I got woken up by what I thought were contractions, but I think I was just lying in a bad position and the baby's head was putting pressure on my bits and making it twinge. Sigh.

Back to feeling queasy and exhausted all day then.

Also woke to news a friend had her baby this morning on the due date. An hour and a half labour and three pushes and he was out - grr!

apperleydapperley · 14/10/2013 10:51

Morning! Congrats Livened and MrsH and good luck today Nat and taking Thanks

We also had the lack of wee problem in the first couple of days - i was getting a bit worried, but then he did one with those urate crystals in and since then has been happily peeing away Grin I also only just learnt about the blue line thing on the nappies - v handy. The mw also said to put a bit of tissue/cotton wool in the nappy where you'd expect the wee to come out as its easier to see if that is wet if it is only a little bit.

Absolutely knackered today, had little to no sleep last night, did someone mention a day 3 growth spurt/period of trying to get milk established - exhausting...

Labour vibes to everyone sfw and fed up Cake

OrangeBlossom2 · 14/10/2013 10:55

Not been in the mood for dtd for a long time but I hope DH would oblige for baby eviction purposes or at least be a bit more sensitive in turning me down smitten. Sad Thanks

I get up to have breakfast with DH in the mornings but have been back in bed napping since he left. I am really getting used to this pace of life!

Ouch at the long drive with a sore bottom flyer. Thanks

Grr at parking ticket pink, so annoying., as Clapham says, I hope you had a nice evening though.

Roofio enjoy DP today then and good it is only 3 work days until you have him back again.

ImpOfDarkness · 14/10/2013 11:09

I'm sitting here with crossed legs, DP has a horrendously busy week he can't get out of and I have a big party to go to on Wednesday. Baby can come any time after Friday.

FeministInTraining · 14/10/2013 11:13

Smitten your DH sounds a bit like my DP. I told him yesterday we should give DTD a try. This was after the plug that I showed him. He looked Hmm for a while and then said only if we have condoms. Maybe I shouldn't have told him Rachels story of waters breaking! I was too tired in the end, really cba.

3blondies your DD's teacher sounds lovely, I would have cried!

Tarlia the ice cream sounds v interesting! what will you do with it? I never learnt to crochet, but have spent many hours learning knitting stuff on YouTube so I am fairly competent although look a bit awkward and don't think I hold the needles and wool in the most effective way. Pink I will look into knit and stitch for next year, sounds interesting.

Why on real rescues are they showing a story of a woman at term who is delivering her baby in the downstairs loo with her DH on the phone to 999? Why today? I don't even usually watch this!!

Good luck Nat I'm looking forward to LIT update!

Decided my baby won't be arriving until the next thread so we need to hurry up with this one!

Flyer747 · 14/10/2013 11:16

Ok so a quickie. I will catch up properly shortly

On my way to maternity assessment unit after speaking to mw.

This bit maybe a bit tmi for some and I hope I offend no one on here.

The pile pain is really quite sore. Sore enough for me to after showering get the mirror and check it out, something in my head told me it wasn't quite right (the pain) on further inspection it appears I am having an active breakout of herpes. Hmm

As a lot of you are aware I have had herpes for quite a few years now, however I never get breakouts. I had one at then beginning of pregnancy (as your immune system lowers) prior to this I'd gone 2 years without one, this is how infrequent I have them.

Talk about timing! So called MW and triage who have told me to go in as I'm past my due date.

If it's confirmed it is indeed an active breakout then it's a c section. Really gutted as it didn't want a section, but realise the risks and what needs to be done needs to be done.

Good Luck with the induction Nat.

OrangeBlossom2 · 14/10/2013 11:21

Oh flyer what shitty timing for you Sad Thanks
I am so glad they are checking straight away though. Sorry a c section would not be what you planned, but would mean you get your baby safely and very soon! Keep us updated if you can, thing of you.

roofio87 · 14/10/2013 11:24

to those who think their dp/hs aren't very interested about your pg etc. mine was the same. but since H has arrived he's completely changed. he knows everything before I tell him as he's googled it, from feeding to nappies to development stuff. he's even used the phrase "I read on mumsnet" a few times!!!! (ps if I've already said this I apologise, I kept meaning to and can't remeber what I've done these days!!)

claphammama · 14/10/2013 11:26

oh no flyer... but well done you on spotting it in time! as you say, the most important thing is to make sure your little one is out safely and not affected. Let us know what they say. Hugs for you xx

roofio87 · 14/10/2013 11:29

x post, sorry flyer. it is rubbish timing but glad you looked and can do what is right for baby even if its not what you wanted. the most Important thing is looking after both of you. let us know how you get on x

roofio87 · 14/10/2013 11:30

ps if you hurry up and get your baby out we can finally meet up with our los!!

FeministInTraining · 14/10/2013 11:34

Flowers Flyer that really is crap timing but really good that you spotted it and hopefully you have a little bit of time to get used to the idea of a c section if that's what's needed. Cliché but at least you will be in the right place x
