Oh no flyer crappy timing, but so great that you spotted it. Let us know how you get on if you can. Be thinking of you Flowers

fem I'd love to be able to knit, but I'm not very good and awfully slow. However, love crochet. The icecream stuff will be a small Christmas present for DS. He has a play kitchen :)

textbook · 14/10/2013 11:43

Good luck Nat for today Smile

Flyer well done for picking up on this and getting yourself in - a planned section is absolutely fine, and you will be in the best possible hands for you and mini-flyer. Sorry it's not what you wanted though ThanksThanks

Congrats on all the new babies too, I'm crap at keeping up at the moment but thinking of you all x

moonblues · 14/10/2013 11:47

Flyer poor you, how painful. Flowers. Well done for looking and getting it checked out. I've never managed to have a normal labour and know how it's upsetting to have to have c-section when it's not what you've planned.

Congratulations MrsHN and livened and anyone else I've missed.

Nat and feminist good luck. I was a fellow 14th due date buddy, but was sectioned at 39 weeks, so have a lovely 1 week old son, who is feeding constantly and my poor nipples are taking a battering. Right off to get some pain killers and something to eat before he wants fed again.

Pinkforboys · 14/10/2013 12:02

Halloween Biscuit Flyer (any excuse for a halloween symbol) So good you realised what it was. Imagine if you'd gone into labour yesterday...or headed off on your 3 hour trip... Good luck with the Dr. How long does it take to clear up?

xuntitledx · 14/10/2013 12:05

Congrats MrsH and livened!

flyer - hope you get treated and everything sorted soon Thanks

chickieno1 · 14/10/2013 12:27

Oh flyer sorry things not going according to plan. Good that you looked though. The main thing is that you and baby are safe. As textbook said a planned section can be a very good birth experience. You'll be meeting your little one very soon.

roofio good you're feeling better. You'll be fine when dh at work. Xx

Thanks for info re breast pads. I stupidly bought 4 boxes if lansinoh ones cos on sale. Now don't like hem or even know if I need them......another silly question do you all wear your bras to sleep at night??

How's the scar text?

PseudoBadger · 14/10/2013 12:33

Good luck Nat!

Slippysnow · 14/10/2013 12:36

What shitty timing for you flyer wishing you all the best.

ananikifo · 14/10/2013 12:41

Flyer I'm sorry this has happened but at least you would get to see your baby soon. Good luck at the hospital. Thanks

PseudoBadger · 14/10/2013 12:45

Sorry flyer what awful timing for you :(

whistlingdixie · 14/10/2013 13:11

Congrats to all the new Mums - have been lurking through out my insomnia and the news of your LOs arriving safely has kept me sane :-)

Sorry to hear your news Flyer :-( but glad you caught it sooner rather than later.

I know lots of you are fed up and keen for your LOs to arrive but despite all the aches, pains, discomfit & insomnia I am enjoying my last few days of pregnancy (I'm 39+5). It's taken 5 years of TTC (+ 9 months) with much loss & heart ache and this is (according to Docs) my first & last successful pregnancy... So whilst I would love to meet my DS right now, I am more than happy to waddle to the back of the bus and hang out with the late October ladies :-)

Has anyone heard from MoN - how is Eliana doing?

Tarlia · 14/10/2013 13:21

badger how are you? I might have missed your response when I asked before, if so, sorry! [flower]

chickie I wear one of these sleepbras

FeministInTraining · 14/10/2013 13:36

Tarlia that's a lovely present, I do love a play kitchen. My cousin and I used to turn mine around and make it into a cafe!

Thanks moon I hope I'm not too far behind!

Analysing every twitch, baby is wriggling around quite happily though!

Whistling I'm glad you're enjoying the last few days, your experience puts things into perspective Smile

FeministInTraining · 14/10/2013 13:46

Mon posted on FB yesterday afternoon to say Drs are pleased with Eliana's progress, she's now off of her morphine. Smile

Bronzemoth · 14/10/2013 14:13

Congratulations livened and MrsHN. Shitty timing flyer hope you are okay.

Thanks for the reassurance and advice. GT registrar mentioned about the blue line as well. It clearly is that sort of advice that takes years of training and experience.

Different midwife today thankfully. Noah's weight drop was a little higher than they like at 9.5% (at least he was a big baby to start with) so mixing in some formula but she never made me feel bad at all. A little disappointed but know it's the right thing and also realise that actually I don't have to be 'perfect', which I think is a useful lesson for me.

legallyblond · 14/10/2013 14:24

Yay!! MrsHN! Welcome Conrad!

Flyer - a c section in these circs would be a lovely calm planned one and, although I know it's not what you might have wanted, it's likely to be a great experience (mine was fab), and miles better Han an emergency CS or a bad labour with lots if intervention, which of course you might otherwise have ended up with... You just don't know....

Pink buttons(... I think it was you?!) - re feeding for ten mins only.... This may well be PLENTY long enough! None of my three have ever ever fed for more than ten mins. They've just been efficient feeders and my let down is fast. Why do you think it's not enough? Is Isla not gaining weight? Tbh, it's unlikely to be a problem... HVs and midwives just seem irrationally obsessed with the length of the feed...

Good news about Eliana!

legallyblond · 14/10/2013 14:28

Bronze - if you're unhappy about the formula top ups, doesn't have to be a long term thing. I topped up V for ten days (always AFTER a full feed) and didn't want to continue with that, so just stopped once wright was back on track x

PseudoBadger · 14/10/2013 14:34

Tarlia sorry I haven't updated!
Basically my BP spike the day I got home was caused by them making an error with my meds (reducing labetalol from 3 to 2 times a day). As soon as it was put back to 3 times (with nifedipine 2 times a day also) it stopped spiking, is running at 150/90 on average now.... How is yours doing?

Dd is wonderful, DS is having 'challenging' moments :o

claphammama · 14/10/2013 14:38

bronze please don't even try to be "perfect" and don't let HV or mws make you feel bad. There is no such thing as "perfect" and nothing is black and white when it comes to motherhood. And it doesn't change as they get older. Everyone is full of opinions and even midwives and HVs often disagree on basic things. Also hope you are not surrounded by any snooty mums who seem to be "perfect"... I had a couple in my NCT group last time... it was very disheartening and made the rest of us feel very inadequate. However, once we got to know them really well, turned out they felt as inadequate and insecure as everyone else. I think "feeling constantly inadequate and out of our depth" sums up what motherhood is about... so just do your best and enjoy having your little one - they feel it when you are happy and relaxed and this is what they need most

Readyasilleverbe · 14/10/2013 14:45

Congratulations mrsH!
Good luck to those swil.
Flyer sorry to hear your having problems now. Thank god you recognised it and can control the situation a bit. What is with things not going according to plan at this late stage?! Hugs and good luck.x

Tarlia · 14/10/2013 14:56

Any smiles yet legally?

Very wise words clapham Flowers

badger sorry yours hasn't gone down yet either :( Mine is still very much unstable. Hope things with DS calm down. Mine is being challenging too, it's exhausting.

fem he loves to do that too. Very sweet.

JellyCurls · 14/10/2013 15:29

Flyer sorry to hear about your sore bum. Try and concentrate on the positive side of things, may not be the birth you planned but babies safety is priority. Sending you a big hug

Good luck to those in labour or those with new babies. Head like cotton wool so can't remember who to name check

OrangeBlossom2 · 14/10/2013 15:50

My friend from work has just had her baby on her due date. My turn next!

Flyer747 · 14/10/2013 16:31

So back from the assessment, and it is a small breakout of herpes, right near my bum! Lovely.

I'm booked in for a C Section tomorrow.

Yikes, shitting myself now and have to go and get supplies.

We have decided to tell people the baby has turned back breech. My parents, sister and two best friends know the reasons as they are aware I have Herpes, however dp's friends, family etc don't know and I don't wish for them to find out either.

Tarlia · 14/10/2013 16:39

flyer I'm sorry you will end up with a CS, but hey, you will find out if you are team boy or girl tomorrow and get to snuggle your bundle. As the others have said CS isn't all that bad and even from my very acute emergency 3 weeks on and my stomach feels totally fine and I think I'd have felt much better at the start had it not been for my pelvis too. Just remember to get something to ease the wind.

Exciting orange! Are you friends with her?
