Oh yes - I assumed that about Nat Clapham. Also, those of you on FB, is Umlauf ok with Bertie?

claphammama · 11/10/2013 17:52

hi legally! Smile yes, must be so tough with 3 under 3... Thanks for you too!

and yes, umlauf is OK although Bertie is not getting back to his birth weight so she is a bit worried. We are trying to give her some BF advice on FB - hope he will turn the corner soon and she won't have to move to FF.

legallyblond · 11/10/2013 17:54

I need up get on sodding Facebook!

MrsHoratioNelson · 11/10/2013 17:55

Oh dear Clapham that did make me laugh! Did you all have 38 week GP appointments? No-one mentioned that to me, so I just saw the MW as normal.

Yes, show was truly gross and there was loads of it! Bleugh.

I am also now convinced the little bugger baby is a boy so I might start having a think about a back up name. We have two sorted for girls, but not for boys.

Pink I think it's only fair that you wait for me to go first... I'll try and make it hurry up as much as possible.

claphammama · 11/10/2013 17:59

are you not going with Conrad anymore MrsH...?

and did you have any action with MrH last night by the way? Hence the show today? If yes, I may attack DP when he comes back from work...

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 11/10/2013 18:04

MrsHN - my 38 week appt was with my GP too, but she didn't do anything differently from my midwife appts.

Obviously hoping this baby doesn't wait until next Saturday to make an appearance, but it seems a bit weird I'm not scheduled to see anyone next week? Have other people got 41 week appointments?

Legally - the thought of 3 under 3 makes my head spin! As does 2 under 1, GT. I think you are both amazing..

PseudoBadger · 11/10/2013 18:14

I know all my posts are me me me I'm very sorry :(
We were discharged last night at 9pm and had a busy night at home settling back in. But the MW came today and BP way up so here we are sat in triage again. Hate this place!!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/10/2013 18:21

Just back from my 38 week appointment with gp. I was a little bit late as my sister came round for tea, cake and baby talk and I lost track of time. Nice to see her while my niece is at nursery on her own for my first time in a couple of years. Thankfully they were running really late anyway, I would have been so frustrated if I missed it, especially after looking ridiculous and in pain trying to rush/hobble from where I parked down the road.

Mine was a bit rubbish too Clapham, didn't feel very thorough. He left me laying with jelly on my tummy after doing the Doppler for about 5 seconds so I presumed he wasn't finished but he was. I asked if he knew what position the baby was in and he said he thought it was on its side, (not back to back any more then??) and still 3/5 palpable but he hardly touched me and didn't feel around the baby at all so not convinced he could tell. Also bump still measured 36cm which I think it was last time but he didn't mention it so presume it is fine.

The white tongue with red patches is oral thrush as I thought it was so have got some drops to pick up for that tomorrow and I also got the flu jab while I was there. I have it every year for asthma anyway and he suggested getting it now to pass on immunity to the baby. Haven't researched it as I wasn't expecting to get it today but hopefully it is ok.

The blood tests I had last time after feeling sick and dizzy were fine, iron 11.5 which I think might be borderline but he said that it was ok, probably just overdoing things in the last few weeks at work.

Yes I was presuming Nat is SWIL in labour too. Hope so, she was very fed up.

Legally you were my beacon of hope in my strop last night as I told DH one of you is managing to feed two babies brilliantly so maybe I will be ok with my one.

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/10/2013 18:22

Oh no pseudo! You must be sick of it! Are they going to change your medicine?

MrsHoratioNelson · 11/10/2013 18:25

Clapham you are very nosy, aren't you?! No, no action. Your DP is safe Grin

Re Conrad I have been wavering again the last few days, but I have been playing around with the shortlist just now and I think any negative feelings were more to do with my general negativity about evicting the baby. Would be nice to have a proper back up. Also, we had decided on Conrad George and now I wonder if Conrad Frederick wouldn't be nicer, especially with our surname? I was starting to hope for a girl so that I could dodge the whole Conrad question...

Flyer when I discussed induction with MW yesterday, she said that the pool would be fine if I was able to get things started with just the pessary or having waters broken, it was only if the drip was needed that the water would be out.

At least the weather has been reasonable for the school run here, if a bit cold in the wind!

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/10/2013 18:37

Oh dear, sorry Nat Sad hope all is well and your baby is here one way or the other soon.

notsoold · 11/10/2013 18:39

Still here on the back of the bus at 38 weeks ( at least until next Friday!!!).
Also had my 38 app with the mw. Baby still breech and happily breech it seems! :)
Just really tired and still a tiny tiny bit concerned about the whole thing....

Flyer747 · 11/10/2013 18:42

Oh dear pseudo, you and Tarlia have had a rough time with those bp's. I hope it can be sorted once and for all. Thanks

Good Luck Nat keep us updated. I hope all ok.

My friend came up earlier and has given me loads of stuff including a bumbo seat Smile

moonblues · 11/10/2013 18:47

Hi ladies. Sorry you're all getting fed up. Cormac had put on some weight this morning after losing nearly 10%, so very relieved that my milk is coming in and starting to work. Should be doing more expressing and topping up, but have only managed it once today so far. He's feeding for longer which I'm hoping is a good sign, though he's still a bit jaundiced. I'd forgotten all the anxiety with having a new baby. Sometimes it seems easier to look after them when they're still inside you - though realise that's not what you ladies want to hear!

He is gorgeous though and well worth all the trouble. :)

Congratulations to the new mummys. pseudo I'm sorry you're back in again. You must be so fed up. Flowers

Legally how are the twins doing?

Flyer that's some impressive eating! Sure to tempt the baby out, though maybe you should totally unpack your hosital bag to make sure!

moonblues · 11/10/2013 18:49

nat hope everything ok. Flowers

BridgetandtheHairyBrigands · 11/10/2013 18:53

Thinking of you Nat, and Pseudo you must be getting so fed-up! I hope the BP issues get properly resolved ASAP.

Just wondering how Ready got on this morning? Fingers firmly crossed all is well with her and her little one.

Wickedgirl · 11/10/2013 19:10

bridget I have my 41 week appointment booked for next Tuesday. The midwife said that she'd offer a sweep and book an induction if I haven't delivered by then.

I am really hoping the baby comes this weekend so that I can have my water birth at the MLU.

roofio87 · 11/10/2013 19:20

Just checked birth sheet, thank you to whoever added me and Hunter!!

Pinkforboys · 11/10/2013 19:45

Pseudo, nat big bunch of Thanks for you both and a large Wine you must both be fed up of the inside of the triage by now. I do hope all goes well now Nat and that bubba arrives soon xx

I wonder how MoN is getting on too.

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/10/2013 19:52

MoN posted on facebook. Eliana is out of surgery, have to wait and see if it needs redoing over the next day.

Pinkforboys · 11/10/2013 19:54

Clapham so good of you to humour the young Doc. I haven't bothered with GP appts this time, or rather haven't been asked to have them. Just midwives and Obstetrician. Personally I'm quite glad I haven't had to waddle to any more appts...

I like Conrad Frederick MrsH, and George too...Grin

I'm finding one of the worst things about being at the back of the bus is that all the lovely names are being taken Hmm The current favourite that DS has approved has already been used on this bus Sad I'm serious- if anyone has any good rejects, please let me know- I need more inspiration!!!

OrangeBlossom2 · 11/10/2013 19:56

Our boy name has been 'taken' pink but I will still be using it.

Readyasilleverbe · 11/10/2013 19:56

Hi all! Just back from hospital where they kept me in all day for fun monitoring after baby showed some suspicious declarations. Did a trace Did a full scan. Then a trace for 2 more hours then sent me away for a while but told me to expect induction and admission ( there were tears etc and was alone as other half really busy and on call this wk end!!). Anyway baby decided to behave on its third trace for 1.5 hours ( I stood for this one!) and so they've let me home for the night, have to back in in the morn for another trace. Hoping all is fine. Going to bounce on ball and shag (sorry a bit crude) all night ( if he ever gets back from surgery) and see if baby may consider coming out unaided! But for now, I'm still at the back of the bus!
You were right about going in so thank you and thank you for thinking of me.
Hope everyone has a good evening, those swil carry on smoothly, those with new babies enjoying cuddles despite the stresses and those fed up of waiting......eat chocolate.
Special thoughts to mon. X
Ps sorry for horrendous waffle, hope it makes sense!x

Pinkforboys · 11/10/2013 19:57

Thanks Orange I'd missed that post. Eliana looks both fragile and strong at the same time.
